It may interest you to know that these Irish dancers are, in fact, Slovak. Look up the URL given at the end of the video if you don't believe me.

***** I am inclined to doubt it. You probably don't realise just how seriously Irish dancing is taken on an international competitive level in Central Europe these days. This would necessarily include attention to detail in cultural matters such as authenticity of costume. You will search Avalon's website and Facebook page in vain for any mention of a (British or) Irish name, though I would have the advantage over you there in being able to read Slovak from my knowledge of Czech and Polish. Nor is Avalon the only Slovak group of its kind with a significant presence on KZitem. There is also the Connemara Irish dance group. A former Polish correspondent of mine told me about a friend of hers who spent considerable time in Dublin training as an Irish dancing instructor before returning to Poland to teach it.

1st song: "Siamsa" by Ronan Hardiman, from the "Lord of the Dance" show. 2nd song: "Dance Above the Rainbow", also by Ronan Hardiman, from the "Feet of Flames" show. The initial percussive sequences are taken from the songs "Harmonia Mundi" and "Ireland", both from the "Gaelforce Dance" show. "Ireland" is apparently unavailable on KZitem now, but you can still find it in a video called "Gaelforce Dance - After Hours Street Dance", which combines two tracks from the Gaelforce Dance show, the latter of which is Ireland.

It is at about 1.50 that the tune changes from 'Siamsa" to "Dance above the rainbow". Both tunes have three distinct sections, only one each of which is used here. The Connemara Irish dance group is also based in Bratislava, Slovakia.

The music in the first half is 'Siamsa' from Michael Flatley's 'Lord of the Dance' album/CD. The music in the second half is from 'Dance Above the Rainbow' in the 'Feet of Flames' album/CD. (In both cases, the music is by Ronan Hardiman.)
