72 year old great grandmother Army. I loved music, dance, art, poetry, philosophy, and fashion all my life, how could I not love BTS. I grew up with Elvis, the Rolling Stones, Dylan, Joplin, Led Zepplin, Motown, Smokey Robinson and Bob Marley. My kids introduced me Ska, U2, Hip Hop and Rap..Eminen, NWA, Tupac, Cypress Hill , Kendrick Lamar. BTS is rap, hip hop, R&B, rock and pop, immersed in art, poetry, culture, philosophy and cinematics performed by the most talented, hardworking, sincere and humblest of young men. I counted it as a blessing to grow up in the 50's a d 60's as we had the best music. Now I count living long enough to experience BTS a blessing. I hope to live a long time to enjoy watching them grow just like watching my grandchildren. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

As a demographic, I am in the 60+ group at 67. I became ARMY in 2016. There’s a concept in BTS lore: that you find BTS when you need them most and this is true for me. BTS helped me deal with the loss of my husband of 40 years. They offered me a way to finding a path to understanding that I could be alone but still be a person who mattered.

@@Lizpowell111 same here. I just got into BTS this year though ive heard of them. I used to like only Kdramas and one day i saw V in Hwarang. I was reading through the actors profile and when it was V's turn, the list of awards is a mile long. I was so curious i looked BTS up in YT and the rest is history. Ive been going thru a very rough time at that and i guess even now, i could honestly say im hanging on to BTS for my dear life. When i listen to their songs its like they're speaking to me. They bring me happiness and so much joy now and i wish others would find them too. It stresses me when i see hate posts and comments about them as they truly dont deserve that.

Don’t forget, they were all young teenagers when the ceo started them. RM was first and he was only 17-18. He is a father figure to them, and they love him. He is looking out for them and has done what no other company has done for their groups. He gifted each of them 68,000 shares of the company. BTS now OWN part of big hit and are each multi millionaires in their own right. Yet here they are...grinding and singing because they love it. Sir, these guys are the real deal. And that is why this grandmother supports them.

Thank you for giving Bang Si Hyuk the recognition that he deserves, he was a huge influence on the boys and some of them have even said that he reminds them of a second father. He thinks of them as his children. He genuinely cares for the boys and I think that having him backing them up has defiantly helped the boys stay grounded and together, unlike some of the other entertainment companies, namely the big 3, that treat their idols like crap and pay them next to nothing. Bang Si Hyuk thinks of Big Hit's relationship with BTS as a partnership and not as an ownership, he even gifted the boys 33.3% of the total stake of the company, plus whatever shares they bought individually, making them one of the majority shareholders of the company. He owns 43.44% as the CEO and co-founder. He let them be themselves and that is so rare to see especially in K-pop. The boys worked their asses off to get where they are today but none of that would have been possible if they and their company didn't trust each other completely. There is no better way to end this comment that with the famous words of our dearest World Wide Hansome Seokjin, "YO HITMAN BANG WE LOVE YOU!!!!"

I'm really glad that you were able to see how crucial Bang PD was to bts' story. Some people completely disregard how different things would be if bts were under an oppressive company that limits their creativity. I believe that bts and big hit are carving out a new path for the industry. So they can realise that you don't have to be rotten to become successful.. I'll always be thankful to Bang PD for believing in them and taking risks bcoz we wouldn't have bts like this if he gave up and handed the group over to another company. Bts truly are exemplary individuals who somehow by some serendipitous act of fate found each other. It's not even something I believe in. But I honestly believe there is something special here.

I can tell you that the reason that ARMY has come to love your reactions so much is because you have the same mindset as BTS.....you do what you do for the love of it and to provide comfort to others. When you mentioned how incredible it is that they sometimes release music for free, I thought you would be interested in this story (which is just one of countless examples). One of the members, J-Hope, did a remake of a childhood favourite of his called Chicken Noodle Soup as a collaboration with Becky G. He paid 2.7 million dollars for the rights to the song, flew to LA and did a music video with Becky G and released it to the fans for free...this 2.7M doesn't even include production costs for the song and video. Here is a link to that video kzitem.info/news/bejne/ymhptHmHfnihmoY . BTS donates to tons of causes....they donated as mentioned to Black Lives Matter, Covid-19 relief funds and also $1million to out of work music stage crew workers...all just during the pandemic. They have in the past paid for students tuition fees and a ton of other causes. Their fans also take up causes for them such as planting trees, animal rescue, climate change initiatives and on and on. There is a group called "One in an ARMY" that take up worldwide causes on behalf of the members. I have been a fan of many artists over the years (I am in my 60's), but never have I seen a group with such a positive message and such wide reaching positive influences. I believe ARMY can make huge positive changes in the world and it gives me hope and pride to be associated with the fandom.

You're absolutely right about some people giving up because things get harder than they expected...in fact, years ago shortly after their debut, RM said something similar in a VLive - he said at first he thought things would get easier after the debut, but then he said he realized that it made sense that as they moved further out into the world as a group, that the 'mountains' they had to climb (the hardships) would also get bigger. Wisdom!

Watching your reaction video really made my day 😔💜 I am 21 and I’m a medical student, I’ve been a fan of BTS for more than 5 years and I feel so proud and happy every time new people like you, who are so genuine, discover BTS and really understand why they are so global. Yeah, they dance and sing amazing, but... many artists do that. What truly set them apart are their lyrics which we all connected with because of the meaningful messages and also... bc of them, just them as human beings, they have precious souls and they are such genuine and caring people... they truly love each other, they love writing music and singing and they love their fans so much... I’m from Peru (Latin America) so 😔 so far I haven’t been able to see them in real life... maybe one day I’ll be lucky enough but... still... every time I watch their blogs and live-streams... they are so pure and talkto us so comfortably... that... even if it’s through a screen... I can feel all their love. Their existence gives me comfort and their music heals me, that’s why I call myself a proud ARMY and I’ll be an ARMY for the rest of my life. I hope you keep reacting to them, listening to their music (their lyrics are beautiful, you should check doolsetbangtan blog for accurate korean translations) and get to know their personalities (you should download Vlive app and Weverse). 💜 Anyways 😆 if you have any questions please just asks us, maybe you can do a live and we all can help you with everything hahaha. ✨I don’t know if you’ll read this but still... ☺️ I’m so happy you discovered BTS, I’m sure it was fate.

Aaron, I have to say there’s a wee part of me that feels really sorry for you. 😔As a reactor you have to hold back from watching BTS videos until you are set up...me? I just totally binged video after video, movies, series, travel shows, memes, live concerts (online), dance practices (OMG you haven’t seen the dance practices yet!!!), variety shows, vlive and vlogs, WEBTOONS, Bangtan Universe storyline...the list goes on. On the other hand I am jealous you get to experience the joy of ‘firsts’ so thank you for sharing your journey with us so we can vicariously revisit the awe of those discoveries. The dance move you got excited about was their FIRST debut single. Imagine how they are live now....you are in for a treat. If you want to see those moves again, the song is We are Bulletproof pt2. The mv is great and talks about their hard work and ambition, so haters had no right to throw stones if they didn’t work as hard as them. The lyrics are prophetic...it’s amazing the dreams and drive they had in 2013 when they were all still aged under 21 in our years, Korean ages are different)

Also, to get a taste of their bold social criticism in one of their *early* songs, you should watch their MV for N.O. It's a harsh criticism of Korea's rigid education system and the societal push to somehow both conform and also be on top. Bapsae is a great song that Army usually refer to as their "Ok Boomer" song, and you'd probably enjoy that too. :) And the rapline has an amazing song called Ugh that criticizes the waste of anger in the world.

You spell consistency in the dictionary as "BTS", for sure. In the 7 years since they debuted, they basically released an album or a mini album every 6 months. Its insane. And most of those songs they 1) worked on themselves, 2) practiced complex choreographies for, and 3) took part in the creation of the concept attached. And then all the tv appearances and vlogging... Not to mention that they all came in with one specialty and had to work independently to catch up with other members. So yeah, just like you said. Consistency and looking at things long-term. They had faith

A big reason behind success of BTS is their great leader Namjoon or RM. He works as the glue between them, he is always there for them, he is not the oldest among them, and though he was a teenager himself when they started, he always had to be the most matured. Whether mediating argument , or motivating members before concerts or tirelessly talking at every single interview in West being the only English speaker. Also he has written most of popular BTS songs and composed them. You'll see him name in credits.also he came up with most album concepts.

The songs are also available on KZitem and 2 of them has lyric videos while one has a music video. There are a total of 7 tracks on the album and it's so healing to listen to. It's a masterpiece and I can't believe he released it for free. If you would like to listen to it in your own time or react to you should do it in the right order, because he wanted the album to be listend to like a playlist. The songs are: Tokyo, Seoul, Moonchild, Badbye, UhGood, Everythingoes, Forever rain. Remember the english subs when you listen to it! The lyrics are really like poetry and is so so beautiful. Hi I am 60 years old and I have been a B-Army for 4 years. (BRAZIL) Because I like music, I have gone through several eras ... Beatles, Michael Jakson, other BoyBands, but when I met BTS, it was love at first sight ... and emotion, joy and company ... Yes ... a Army life is very hectic ... they have a lot of content to watch and have fun, dance, sing .... a life full of entertainment ... I don't even know what loneliness is anymore ... if I go alone watching a BTS movie, there's always an Army that joins me to watch singing and laughing or crying ... at the Show in 2019, it was the same thing. And as we literally sang everything, the boys gave everything to us too ... it was an absolute and reciprocal joy .... Ah ... if you can, react to Tour Love Yourself in São Paulo and you will know what I am saying. I'm your new entry ... I liked your emotional reaction today. You are very good at talking ... I would like to be your friend. God bless you.

I love watching your reactions - it’s the highlight of my day. I start work every day at 3.30am and the first thing I do when I get up in the morning is check and see if you have uploaded. Lol. When I first discovered BTS I was not in a good place. Then these amazingly talented and goofy young men wormed their way into my life and I have never looked back. I am so proud of what they have achieved while all the time staying as the same 7 humble young guys who all used to sleep in one room. They all still live together, though now in one of the most expensive gated communities in Seoul (for their own protection). If you get the chance react to their variety show Run BTS - you will see that even though they could afford to buy a small country each, they go to extreme lengths to win games where the prizes are something as simple as snacks. They still have that same mentality that they had as trainees all those years ago.

You are so right. There is no other fandom like BTS. When I first started liking BTS, I didn't know about ARMY until I started reading comments online and magazine articles etc. I wanted to become a part of ARMY so bad but didn't know how. What I didn't realize is that I already was, all I had to do was speak up and now I have so many friends all over the world. There is no judgement, no intimidation...only kindness and love for others and BTS.💜 Please react to some of the new live performances from BTS week on Jimmy Fallon. Also, may I ask you Aaron where you are from? I like your accent.😁

giving free merch with albums is soo different from selling albums along with merch.. a lot of people fail to realise that. bundles are obviously a tactic to increase sales and people still defend these artists saying they're giving it for free 😶

@@aameetingspodcast - They gave their first speech to the Assembly in 2018 and their 2nd just last week. They were also invited by President Obama to address the Class of 2020 graduation and then the latest was to address the Youth of Korea at the Presidential residence 'The Blue House'. Every single speech was so incredibly inspiring and worth watching, even if you don't react to them.

The demographic thing is so funny when you go to a BTS event with a non-fan, a while ago a BTS tour documentary aired in a cinema near me and I talked my mom into going with me, since she already wanted to go to a concert with me (she doesn't know much about them, just that they have insane performances), but that fell into the water when covid hit. So I offered the tour documentary as a substitute. She kept saying things like "I bet I'm the oldest one there", "I'm gonna stand out so much among the youngsters", but then there was a whole group of 60+ year old women super excited wearing BT21 merch (the characters that BTS designed) -- had to supress an "I told you so", lmao. I'm 22, and whenever I've gone to a concert I met up with army friends I made online, and so far, I've ALWAYS been the youngest in the group. It's so much fun seeing literally everyone, from children (those are usually being turned into fans by their parents rather than the other way round xD), teens, young adults, parents and grandparents at BTS' concerts. I'm not much of a concert goer because I dislike large crowds of "strangers", it usually feels like you're alone in a sea of people watching the conctert individually. With BTS' concerts however, everyone is having so much fun _together_ . BTS once described it as an exchange of engery, they give us energy through their performance, which fires us up and makes us give back even more energy which in return pushes BTS even more -- their concerts are truly one of a kind, and armys are always the best at giving you a place where you can feel at home :)

About the thing watching you watching a video, for me I do it for this reason: I don't have any friends that I share this interest with (BTS) so this is my way of sharing my love for BTS with others, watching you watching them, and seeing you going down pretty much the same path like I did (Saw a video of them, and were like DAMN, I want more!! and then it just kept going) it feels like I can share the excitement that I feel watching BTS with others and that brings me happiness. iiif you know what I'm trying to say lol :p

a little bit over 3 years ago I found BTS and starting to listen to them, I was in a really bad place living in an abusive marriage and had given up on living. I started to listen and read their lyrics and I got even more depressed because I understood that this isn't suppose to be like this, life should be more and after I started to connecting to more fans and reading about their thoughts and beliefes I eventually found the courage to get a divorce. I lost so much , money, my children and my home but I gained my life. I still struggle with my mental health because of all the shit he put me through and still put me through by keeping my children from me but I don't wake up every day and want to die. I'm not happy either but I can laugh and feel joy and I owe most of it to BTS, I'm in my late 40's and have missed so much of life but through their music and reactors like you that I feel get it I'm going forward one day at a time. and this is so long thanks to anyone who endured this long comment tahat probably didn't even make sense

i really love how they halted their practices for the muslim prayers in Saudia Arabia. In islam it is said to stop whatever you're doing as soon as you hear the call for prayer and listen to it carefully. as a muslim army I can easily say i'm proud of BTS and what they have acomplished so far. not many artists have respect for religions like bts. they truly are amazing human beings and i too am greatly inspired ad healed by them. their music was one of the only things that helped me cope with depression and anxiety until i got better, their videos make me laugh so hard i forget everything else happening in my life. without bts i don't know if i would even be ok. their existence itself holds so much meaning for me. They truly are amazing people and i'm proud to say that i'll love them forever. i'm proud to be army

I love your commentary because you genuinely get it. I'm 28 yrs old and I haven't regretted the past 5 years since I've become a fan, in fact, my love and bond for them grows bigger each day. BTS's music helped me through university when I felt isolated and alone. A lyric from Suga's song So Far Away helped me change my thinking about the direction of my career. "Though your beginnings may be humble, let your end be prosperous", and I try to live by this little by little each day. I'm honestly really happy to see you connect so much with them 💜 I wanted to add the since 2012 BTS have been posting free music on Soundcloud, now personal solo songs, mixtapes and covers are all posted for free =)

They all artist and mostly involve with the albums, lyrics, song, music even in producing.. First of all, thank you for giving the Bangtan boys a chance. I really admire you for it. I feel sometimes when guys think about the word "boy band", it could turn them off because the stereotype of boy band had in the past (boys singing & dancing about romantic love and screaming young teenage girls, etc) but then when you actually listen to BTS' music and learn their message, you will realize that BTS is far from a typical boyband indeed. However, most people already wouldn't give them a chance because of the word "Boyband". In fact, BTS 'fan base is so diverse in demography. Let me tell you this, I am a 41 years old with two young kids. I love BTS not because of their visuals but their music, message, talent, hard working, and how & who they are. Their music gives the positive and meaningful message, it is the kind of music that I would like my kids to grow up with (since a lot of music out there these days likes to talk about thug, drug, sex or other bad stuff.) I introduced BTS music to my kids and now we are fans of them. I think it is pretty cool that my kids and I are growing older and closer together listening to the same music. "If you listen to music without prejudice, you will like BTS' music". -- Suga by BTS. I can't wait for your next video!

I first fell in love with BTS's music, then slowly learned about the group behind the music (kind of like you). The people that they are and the thought and purpose behind their music, along with their influence on their generation, to love who you are and to be a positive change on the world and those around you, gives me great hope in a better future.
