Follow along with Rich Walter, MIM’s curator for United States / Canada and Europe, on a virtual highlights tour of MIM's Ireland Exhibit. Rich shares the stories behind exciting new MIM acquisitions on display, which represent some of Irish music’s most cherished instruments-the fiddle, pipes, and banjo. See a 1760s fiddle from one of the country’s greatest violin makers, Thomas Perry, and a set of 20th century uilleann (“elbow”) pipes from renowned maker Denis Crowley. Also featured is a custom-built tenor banjo from contemporary maker Emerald Banjos, played by musician Noel Bermingham.
