+wuqingyuan It's hard to really say Koreans are universally like anything. Luckily, we're not like China and have a relatively small landmass so similarities are easier to find. Coming from an Americanized Korean, the Koreans are typically modest and reserved when meeting someone but more eager to warm up to someone than a Japanese or Chinese person is. They also practice "Shame Culture" the hardest out of all three East Asian countries, typically shaming themselves to put others up. When you come down to cold self centered Koreans, you might have been spending a lot of time in Seoul where the attitude is usually more "New York-ian". There's also the problem of spoilt silver spooned youths in a period where there's a lot of "new money" Koreans.

As a Korean, I don't like how they serve Kimchi as a separate dish. Nobody in Korea eats Kimchi by itself like that. (It's like serving pickles as a meal) Kimchi goes well with rice and meat dishes. Also it didn't look like vinegar or Korean mustard sauce were added on the Naengmyeon. Those two essential ingredients help enrich the actual taste of the dish, preventing it from being all bland and floury. I wish they served the foods more properly.

That would opt for a more tender texture, but octopus needs to be cooked longer to remove the fishy aftertaste of it, so it usually requires 2 or more types of cooking methods to maintain the best texture. In the featured octopus dish in the video, the octopus is washed with flour, quickly boiled (or steamed), and then is introduced to the heated vegetables in the pan.

I can see most of these comments are hate. These people aren't trying to be rude on purpose. They were told to give their honest opinion. I'm irish and honestly I want to go to korea :) The food we eat here is different from food in Korea cause we have American style food if you know what I mean. Example: Fries,Pork,chicken,Fish,Beef,and probably some food you will get in America. But at the same time us irish people are critical and they would give completely honest and sometimes brutal comments. But that doesn't mean you should hate on *All* Irish people :)

This dish dates back to the Joseon Dinasty, up in Northern Korea. Long story short, cold noodles in any form from using a spicy non-broth sauce, to a cold soup base made with ground up soy bean, to the one you saw in the video is mostly eaten during the summer weather to help cool you down when it's ridiculously hot.

Like the Irish being oppressed for centuries by the English, we Koreans were oppressed and enslaved by the Japanese and Chinese. The Irish have a rich culture and history, and live in a pretty cold climate most of the year. The same applies to Koreans. We are proud of our history and culture, and it gets very cold in Korea. Like the Irish, we Koreans like to stay warm with good food, good drink, and shared company telling tales that may or may not be true, but as long as it's a good one and the drink flows, that's all that matters.

although i agree with the enslaved/oppressed by japanese thing...china never really oppressed or enslave korea lol I don't know where you learned your history. korea did however pay tributes to china though (since it was the biggest, most powerful country around) but korea was still it's own sovereign nation. As for the written language...korea also adopted that of their own free will much like the japanese did. also ireland really isn't that cold, nor hot for that matter. UK weather is bizarrely consistent. where as korea is hella cold in winter and hella hot in summer all cultures like to share food and tell tales...it pretty much the only culturally universal thing that everyone does not just korea and ireland. LOL every country is proud of their culture and history cause ppl are nationalistic the only true reason that korea is known as the Irish of Asian is cause of the intense drinking culture.

I lived in UK for a while, my wife and me love to visit UK and Ireland and enjoy the preferable homemade dishes, pies etc. Also for nostalgic reasons.We eat at the St. James Gate Pub in Amsterdam too. But I became a Kdrama-addict 12 years ago.. Started with trying Korean Food immidiate and learned a lot through these years . Mixing our routines with Korean and sometimes Thai made me lose 35 kilos. This clip is from 2016. Nobody in Holland knew about Korean food. Now, 2021, at least kimchi has the attention on TV-cooking programs, magazines etc. I hope so for these people too ! Anyway , my choice between a Korean or an Irish/ British meal will be Korean for sure .

Why are most of these comments talking shit, like so they didn't serve it perfectly or they didn't like the food. Your all focusing on the people that had negative thoughts, even though some people liked some dishes. They're giving their honest opinion if they didn't what would be the point of the video? The point is to give your opinion cause what's the purpose if you don't like the dish and you say it was a grand meal.
@preciousdang1682

Bronagh Ivors in my defense, yes it is fine for them to give their honest opinions, but they’re not trying the authentic Korean food, don’t get it mistaken by authentic they did use typical ingredients for the food, but I mean the real taste of korean food. Before they state their opinions about the food, I would want them actually trying the right way the food is cooked. Saying,”so they didn’t serve it perfectly,” maybe not cooking it perfectly but actually the correct way of cooking genuine korean food.
