Trains using Cravens coaches on Irish Rail in May and November, 2005 including Manulla-Ballina shuttle, Limerick-Limerick Jct. shuttle, and Cork-Cobh services.
At 0:54, anyone else notice the sparks under the back boogie and the lead loco??

I have a weak spot for the Cravens. They were so comfortable to travel in. I hope that at least some of them have been preserved. When I was on holiday in Ireland I travelled on them, later on the newer trains as well. The Cravens are from the same period as the German Silberlinge were. However, I hate the Silberlinge, as they were very uncomfortable. Now they are used in Eastern European long haul Intercities. I would not want to travel on them for 500 or even more kilometres. I will not shed one tear for the Silberlinge when they go to the knackers yard.

If the western rail corridor reopens within the next few years if would connect Mayo with Galway and Sligo of course.
