I'd like to see more color come out of this Irix. Find a location with green, blue, red, yellow etc. and show us how the brand really renders color.

I'd like to see them come out with an 85mm or equivalent.

Great review! It's a great lens, I have been using it for the last 6 months on my BMPCC 6K cameras. I also have the 15mm and 150mm. One thing that is nice when picking up multiple lenses is that all of the gears are lined up across lenses. SO changing lenses while using a follow focus system is very easy to manage. The only thing I would say negatively is not about the lens itself, but the limited options in their available lenses. A 15mm, 45mm and 150mm is not enough to build a set from. IRIX has been saying they are coming out with new ones for months but so far there has been nothing. I have actually started looking at more developed sets because of this.

I agree, I would like to see a 25/75mm prime lens. A cine lens always makes the camera look so much better. I want to move away from stills lenses after this.

@PSPerämäki I would not get the 11mm for cinema. The reason is the focal plane is narrow thin and the image just bows too much for me. There is a lot of warping around the edges. I tried it for a week and sent it back.

Hey! Great comment. Do you have the sigma art 18-35mm? I sold my rokinon 24mm dsx cine lens and am looking for a new one. Eyeing between this and the vespids but wanted your input. Footage from this IRIX looks tack sharp but also warm and a little soft, which is great.

@@ChadtheFilipino I do not have that lens. Right now my primes are only the IRIX lenses. I am looking at getting the Tokina Vista prime set in a few months. I will say that I have been shooting with the Sony FX3 and A7siii camera and for those I have the Sony GM 12-24, GM 24-70 and the GM 135 lens. They have been a lot of fun to shoot with....even if they do make me lazy :p

I like your testing criteria ... real world examples not some close up views of a chart. Looks like focus breathing was almost non existent plus CA looked really well controlled too during your flash light test. for 1100 usd these look hard to beat and a lot better than Rokinon or other lenses in this price point.

The lenses are really good for the price. I now own the 15mm and 30mm as well
