Ninth Aeon...much agreed! Back in 1985, his voice by the end of the “World Slavery Tour” was shredded from all those dates. I saw them twice at The Long Beach Arena in LA back then and I thought the gigs were great, but Bruce’s vocals were suffering from the over use of that tour. It’s very evident in the movie ‘Live After Death’... Don’t get me wrong here though...I love my Maiden boys. That tour would have been the end of any mortal man... However, to see Bruce battle back from the threat of cancer and to sound better than he ever has here? Just the best!

Aside from the titans in Power Metal (Hansi, Kiske, Lione, Johansson etc) there are very few singers I can think of who at their peak will sound as good as this 60+ year old who had tongue cancer. Literally the only thing you can say against him is he can't go as high as he could a decade or 2 ago. I don't think anyone could credibly argue against Bruce beingt in the top 3 singers of all time.

The absolute love and good will I have toward Iron Maiden has no limits. As a child of the early 80's, Maiden's early music meant a great deal to me and my friends. Their song subject matter spans through history, war, the occult, prostitution, classic literature, and everything in between. I borrowed money from my buddy while hanging out at mall when I saw the "Live After Death" album at the Records Store. It was a princely sum, around $20 IIRC, but good grief I wore those records out! The cover art , the live recordings with screaming metalheads in the palm of Bruce's hand as he interacted in between tracks and during the sing-alongs. To this day, my favorite Maiden song is "Rime of the Ancient Mariner." Who else could do a 14 minute song based on 18th century literature that completely kicks ass?

Saw this tour in Houston just months before the world stopped... Well... Covid... It's the second time I'd seen them. Ever. It is easily in my top 3 shows in 4 decades of concert-going. I saw the Book Of Souls show in Houston and it was spectacular. I don't even have a descriptive for the Legacy show. And these guys are all 60 plus. Then you have pathetic cash grab bands that... Well they ain't Maiden. Up The Irons y'all! Can't wait til the next Legacy-type tour! Hell have they played Houston yet on the Senjutsu tour? 🤔 Seeing Sabbath on The End in 2016 and now Maiden twice I've ticked off all my last"bucket list" bands.
