I'am a 61 years old Die Hard Metalhead and since i've heard the first Iron Maiden "primitive" releases (1979,1980) i said to myself " this gonna be the Greatest Band in music History ( not only in Heavy Metal). And i was right. Iron Maiden never turn to mainstream and mainstream never give them a chance, but nevertheless Iron Maiden sold more than 200 Million records, after 45 years still sell out arenas all over the World and have the biggest and most Loyal fan base of any other Band or Artist no matter the musical genre. Iron Maiden it's my Religion, i've seen them alive for 37 Times in several countries in 5 continents. Just the Greatest Band in music History.Period.

I don’t understand how you could say in the title that they’re the most successful heavy metal band of all time/full documentary and basically cover only the first 2 to 3 years of their 40+ year career. You should’ve called at the Di'Anno years. However, it was enjoyable, but pretty disappointed that you didn’t include 90% of their catalog the current & longest tenured lineup which has made Maiden what they are today.

I love Maiden, and I have all the respect in the world for them. I am glad that them and Judas Priest and Merciful Fate are still around and healthy enough to still perform. They are the only three left from the original heavy metal bands before the sub genres started. They deserve to be respected as the legends they are. But technically, you can’t say they’re the most successful metal band. I’m not saying you have to like Metallica or like every Metallica album or anything like that but if you’re just talking about success and nothing else, Metallica is the most successful mental band. I keep hoping that before both bands retire, we will get a Metallica and Iron Maiden Tour.

I agree. If the criteria are sales, media exposure, and audiences at shows, Metallica is undoubtedly the most successful band. Now, when it comes to "which band is the best", it's all about personal taste. In my opinion, Maiden has a more balanced discography, with fewer ups and downs. But in the end, we are very lucky to have lived in the same era as these two metal legends.
