I hung iron for a couple of years when I was in my late twenties, then moved on to millwrighting. Love your videos because they make me feel young again. Basically the same stuff I did, low rise, 4-10 stories.

I can relate... did millwright/ boilermaker then moved on to pipefitting. I started working in oil refineries and seen pipefitters and welders making more money I ran with it.

no joke as long as it's floating you can move hundreds of tons with a gentle nudge. the biggest problem is when its moving too fast, it'll yeet you into the next zip code if it doesnt squash you flat

One of the most frustrating part of Iron Working is when you signal the crane operator to boom down and hold the load , and he doesn't know how to do it !

What monthly salary do they get?
@bradhaines3142
Жыл бұрын
they're paid by the hour, long hours. it depends if they only get time and a half or double time but id ballpark them in the 15-20k/month range you can calculate the minimum based on 40/hr. assuming 12hr days 7 days a week thats 40hrs straight time (1.0) and 44hrs time and a half (1.5x) taxes vary wildly but figure an easy 35% off for that

Lol... I've watched a few of this dudes videos and the first thing I thought was how slow they are, then noticed he wears them knee pads ... then seen he pulls out his spud or bar for every single connection. I'd like to know the company name. I'd be a employee of the month if speed is their standard.
