From what i know, you can own and carry an airsoft or paintball gun as long as it is not carried in plain sight as they a lot of times look like real weapons and can cause confusion and panic in people. Airsoft and paintball guns should be carried in a bag or original box and you should have the documentation for them to prove that it is not a real gun. Got stopped by police once with a friend (i have an airsoft AK, he has a sniper rifle) I had the original box for the AK, he had a rifle bag for his sniper. Had no problems, i'm from Czechia.

In Germany they get treated very close to firearms. This has upsides and drawbacks. You can buy an airsoft gun up to 0.5 J muzzle energy if you're at least 14 years old. These guns are also allowed to be full auto. For anything above 0.5 J you have to be 18 years old and the gun can't have the ability to fire full auto. You can't openly carry an airsoft gun at all. It has to be locked in a gun case until you arrive at a private property where you're allowed to carry. The upside is that safety is very highly regarded here and people know a lot more about what to do to keep the game as safe as possible. Also, because they are regulated under German gun laws, they are allowed to look exactly like their real counterparts. No orange tip or anything required. To the law, they are weapons, not toys, so it doesn't matter if it looks like a toy or not.

In some countries that ban firearms, like Indonesia, they treated airsoft guns as firearms. You must have a license to own one. You also need to buy an ID'd gun from an official retail, and you are prohibited from carrying them in public.

@@Cezaane99 there are only about 5 or 6 counties in the world that have banned airsoft rifles, and few have hard requirements for them to be bright colours or orange tips.
