Whenever she mentions that she's almost 32, my mind is blown. We're the same age. She acts so young. It's not the toys, or phrases or even the art. I have friends who like that stuff. She just seems perpetually in arrested development. I think it's that she doesn't take any personal responsibility in her life. Life happens to her; she isn't an active participant in anything that happens. She has no internal motivation or internal locus of control.

I've been watching Amberlynn for 16 months now, and I clearly recall her doing a makeup reorganization where she threw out tons of old lipsticks, lipglosses, eyeshadows, etc. and organized them all in a clear plastic tray. So how in the world has she managed to re-accumulate so much in such a short period of time? (And why is everything now thrown all jumbled together into a drawer instead of that tray?) Clearly a case of compulsive shopping, just constantly buying stuff that she does not need.

The thing about makeup specifically is that it's always being hyped up, advertised everywhere, it's always 'in the moment' and will never go away. It's not the same as collecting things like Nendoroids or manga or miniature boats or whatever, because makeup itself goes through trends and will make you think that you need to replace your 6 month old palette with a trendy new one from whatever KZitemr. Makeup is a huge culture in and of itself. Of course anyone who developed mentally past 16 should know it's stupid to keep buying new ones before you've used your current ones, because it's best to just use the ones you're accustomed to and know will suit you, and just because it's new and shiny it doesn't mean you're going to like it. But Amber proudly said herself that she never did move past a teenage mindset, so... I guess she can enjoy her expired makeup all she wants.

This year I had an honest convo with myself about my spending habits and I made the change to stop spending so frivolously. It started with makeup and has spilled over to other parts of my life, and it's a good thing! I haven't bought makeup for almost 3 months and I'm enjoying the products I have. For Amber I think it's all about the rush of buying the thing....or that maybe "this new thing" she bought will the be thing that makes her finally feel beautiful or worth it....that's all too common with the overconsumption of beauty.

The thing about it though is she’s been that way as long as I can remember. She’s not really aware she’s perceived that way, that’s just how she is. We love her to pieces obviously. Amber having the awareness to say she’s age regressed but has no desire to change that is just a lie to me. @juliaspoonie3627

The issue isn’t really what and when someone does in their life but how and especially how someone reacts to difficulties. People who say they already started a family or had xyz job while being younger than Amber do it to show that it’s possible to accomplish SOMETHING, to work towards any goal or personal growth. It’s an „easy“ phrase to show that Amber could have gotten more out of the years she’s an adult. It just happens to be those 2 things these people accomplished which required a certain maturity level. Plenty of other things are similar, some are just harder to explain in a comment. It’s not necessarily because she „wasted“ her life, I really dislike that phrase, but because she could have been genuinely happier if she really tried to heal her childhood trauma and learned coping mechanisms 12 years ago. We don’t see any personal growth whatsoever since she started KZitem. She makes the same excuses, shows the same behaviors like over 10 years ago, is stuck in the same cycle like always. No major life event, like break ups, cancer and other health crises, moves or losses had an impact on her or her behavior. Even the relationships she had were just crutches she used, she doesn’t even truly reflect on them and just talks badly about her exes. She allegedly has those interesting life dreams, talents and hobbies but she dedicates no time or energy of her videos to them. She chooses the same easy topics, she never really challenges herself to get better at ANYTHING. She could take online classes about art, poetry, animals etc., learn about real art techniques and history, go to college to learn all the topics she allegedly missed due to foster care. Not even talking about her current job… like learning how to edit, using tools like in video reactions, choosing interesting topics and making an effort to improve her videos. You are going to university and I‘m sure you see a lot of growth between you now and when you finished highschool. The „statistics“ don’t matter, being in a relationship or not has little to do with your abilities to reflect and take accountability or how mature you behave. Same with your career. But being able to maintain a healthy longterm relationship, raise kids, work, get an education, care for family members, being chronically ill and doing your best to survive and heal, build a home, … all those things usually require a certain maturity level. Amber is very privileged to have a very well paying job. She chooses to put in minimum effort despite having more than enough time. When people say they were already having a family while being younger than her, it‘s not bragging but emphasizing the different mindset. Showing that they WANTED to put effort into something they cared about, they were okay with sleepless nights due to a crying baby, with studying despite working because they wanted that degree or next career step, with discomfort because they wanted to try everything to improve their health. I‘m not sure if you feel insecure about those 2 topics in general (no relationship and being 29 at university) but you have to keep in mind that this is about Amber. You know why people get so frustrated with her and it’s not because she isn’t married or chose an unusual career. You aren’t choosing the easiest path currently (nor over and over again in every aspect), don’t compare yourself to Amber!

I hope someone somewhere compiles all of ALR’s New Years resolution videos 😂 I wonder if she completed the resolution of “thinking more about going to college” I mean she hasn’t made any videos of her thinking about it… also where’s a WLS update? I’m also still waiting on a video where she shows us washing her makeup brushes….. I also really hate the gift giving every day in the run up to Christmas. It’s quite literally the one time when you DON’T give presents because Christmas Day is the day when that happens…… it takes away the preciousness of Christmas Day.

I have never seen two adults act like preteens, I could not stand to be around them. I read that a morbid obese person has a enabler, they can be so nice to them to make the enabler feel bad and give them bad foods so they don't make them upset. I think Jade and Amber are roommates, and pretending like they are so in love.

With the Vlogmas’s she’s “completed”, she used to skip like 3 days and then when she posted again she would just say that all the missed days were combined in one lol. And she def did used to try to go to 31 days because I remember her having the whole debate around 25 days vs 31 days and what “other KZitemrs” do.

Tbh I've struggled with feeling like I'm stuck mentally at 16/17 mostly because I'm neuro divergent, childfree and ace, so adulthood doesn't and can't look the same for me as it does for so many others and also how society tells me it looks. But it's something that I've worked hard on and also coming to the realisation that just because things look different for me doesn't mean I'm not an adult and honestly it's been great and really truly helped my self-esteem. Point is, I really don't understand how Amber can be happy being stuck. It's sad.

As a fellow ace person, I can relate to this. I've often felt this vague sense of being behind everybody else. Part of it was being anxious as a young person, and that really held me back socially. But I also wasn't comfortable with dating and relationships and physical intimacy, and those were supposed to be healthy adult things. When I realized I was aro ace, it was such a huge relief. I don't feel behind anymore - like somewhere along the way I caught up with myself. I think it came from becoming better able to push past my anxiety and accepting my ace-ness. I think if Amber could start taking active control of her life, she would feel different and be able to start moving forward.

Whenever she says “I am” after a statement, the lies roll in; she says she’s taking accountability but we all know that’s not true. She says it but her actions say something else and that’s always the case. 🤦🏽♀️

Lol I got that EXACT same laundry bag from Ross for like $5 like 5 years ago because I moved to an apartment where I didn't have an in unit washer. Handles broke after like a year. I patched that sucker up and used it for another year. Certainly didn't have her income at my disposal, nor did I have that much interest in interior decorating my crappy apartment. I'll be moving into a house that I will own early next year, and I'll get whatever laundry basket Zach liked.
