Force the vote would have accomplished nothing. There are enough Dem reps in rich districts to provide cover for the other moderate Democrats, and it would have cost the Progressives all of their political capital. That means poor committee seating, no progressive influence in other bills, all for a vote on something that would never past nor change the party.

@@Blue.Eyed.Devil. We should have four to six parties in this country. It's interesting to me to see how the Left in America is so weak compared to the Right in America. The Right is willing to burn the GOP to the ground if it doesnt comply with MAGA crowds demands of Trumpism, Protectionism, and Social Conservatism. The Left in America puts its tail between its legs and bows down to a centrist elitist party rather than being willing to stand for its values of Left-wing Economics, Universal Healthcare, and the Green New Deal even if that means to rock the boat and become hated. All social and economic change movements were hated by the elite and mainstream media. MLK was hated by threatening to run outside of the Democratic Party. But the Left political figures like AOC have fragile egos and are too afraid to go up against the powerful. Even Bernie says he didn't want to end up like Ralph Nader. I'm sorry but that's pathetic. Nader is based. Bernie was too nice of a person and allowed his movement to be infiltrated and watered down. The Squad has cashed their checks and are playing along to get along. And Bernies movement has largely fizzled out.

AOC originally ran as a Woke anti-establishment, pro-socialist candidate whose biggest complaint about her multi-term opponent was that he lived in DC and was thus out of touch with his constituency. Yet, as soon as she was elected, AOC moved to a gated community in DC. Since that time, she has donned a whole new wardrobe of designer clothing - so-much-so in fact that she has recently landed on the cover of GQ magazine. Her performances on the floor of the House speak to a level of exaggerated theatrics that further bolsters the perception that AOC is a self interested poser (aka faux progressive) whose love of the finer things in life belies her calculated image as an equity-of-outcome advocate; nothing says class-based hierarchy like excessive, self indulgent consumerism.
