I see other viewers already talked about some deep points in this episode, very nice! I liked very much this episode, it shows some very important moments of Thorfinn's life & Askeladd army. Inthe last episode Askeladd let Thorfinn live, here he saves him keeping him in his army. In the end we can see Askeladd uses Thorfinn as infiltrate, sending him behind the line, this needs to be very skilled, but it's also very dangerous, Askeladd doesn't care that much about him. We can see also Thorfinn betraying the nice lady&the girl who saved him, without thinking at anything but his work. My favourite scene is the one in which Thorfinn does his first kill. It reminded me of a quote: "In film you see the first kill as something glorious, it never is. After you killed a man you think you'll never be yourself again, but the next morning you wake up and you understand it's still you. You understand it was you also during the kill. You understand you will still be you now on and it sucks, but so it is" (Chernobyl, HBO Miniserie, told by a soldier) I saw that here they didn't show the first kill as something glorious, but as something painful, horrible as it is. They showed also that Thorfinn seems to be changed by that. But to me it isn't, I think that he's hiding from what he's doing, he tries to ecape it and to do so it does it again and again (as we see in the last scene). He tries to save the girls telling them to run away, but he's trying to save them only with words, everything else he does he does it against the village all. And these are my thoughts and my reflection on a "blind" and cruel Thorfinn as he is showed here, after the many trauma's he got into... I already have seen ep 7 & 8, so I know what'll happen, don't worry for spoilers and I know the situation develops, I'd like to know your thoughts about the "first kill" 😊

Thorfinn repaid the older lady's kindness with evil, even at his young age he knows what he has done. Consumed by hatred and vengeance, he is able to bury it all down deep

Askeladd is the most complicated character in this show. Charming & cunning. Good & bad. Season 1 doesn't have much character development for thorfinn. Season 2 does. It also has less action. This has a lot of violence but the story is actually about non-violence & a lot of other lessons

Glad you appreciate the depth of the story I do hope that means you’ll try and read in between the lines with other characters not named Thorfinn. This show is more than just the main cast, being too focused on him would make you miss the subtleties in other characters for example Your opinion on Askeladd changed because he saved Thorfinn but if you observed him earlier you’d notice 1. He through out his fight against thors, he kept praising him and he was thankful he was able to fight him,he didn’t kill him out of hate, he simply had a job to do and he did. 2. He’s facial expression when he asked Thors to be their leader, I doubt he was joking, he only said he was when it was clear Thors would refuse. 3. The fact that he was awake when Thorfinn tried to assassinate him, would he have let him? I could keep going but this comment is too long already lol, good reaction so far

@@Manamyte haha , yeah I love little details, its the difference between a good show and a great show, so any time an author takes their time in different characters or world building I always try to analyze it
