Thank you for this very informative but also entertaining video. I had an Audi A6 Avant Quattro before my i3s and my experience on snowy roads: a good four-wheel drive can be quite dangerous because every effortless acceleration to hell speed in the shortest possible time is followed by the completely helpless braking and pushing out of the curve when 2.5 tons lose all traction. So if you're not traveling in high alpine regions and need the traction of a four-wheel drive to get anywhere at all, the concept of the BMW i3, narrow tires and low weight, seems to me to be a very good combination for winter city traffic.

Nice video. As you mentioned, running winter tires is the key here (no matter what car..). For that reason, it's compulsory to run winter tires by law over here in Germany.

I like drifting in the snow a bit more than some! The car is so good in the snow my drifting is only achieved by turning off the iNanny!

Want better control and comfort? Get wheel spacers, Winter tires, and pre-climate your ride before going out. If you want to save a bit more juice, get a butt warmer 12V, don't turn on heat (If not really freezing) wear smarter not bulkier, have a cup warmer 12V and hot water for your drive. Been through many winters with my 2017 i3 REX this way

Great car! I only wish they made it 4-wheel drive, I think there is a plenty space in version without range extender.

It’s already rear wheel drive, so space used by the REx would not help make it 4wd. They would have to add a motor up front and there isn’t much space there.

@@SimpleCarGuy Bigger rear motor and a drive shaft to power front wheels could work. Batteries in the way I guess. What I'd love to see is a two seater version on the same platform, along the lines of an MX-5.

Good car but range in winter is horrible.. i3s 38.6kwh ...eco mode, warm pump...105km/h 200km....

I know this videos a year old but, I'm curious if when you lowered it and widened it if you also got rid of some of the rear camber? I'm thinking about flattening mine out to cut the tire grind but, being a lightweight vehicle it may need that extra camber.

Do you use the same tire size in the rear as in the front? And which size / 155?
