I dont think people care about your sexuality. I think people are curious if you 2 are actually a couple because you have marketed yourselves as a "couple" and people want to know if its friendship couple goals or relationship couple goals, because you would be such a cute relationship couple but you don't REALLY present as that. I also, think people hope for that because you are both so cute together and are genuinely curious about your real relationship status together. IMO

This! Like I’ve been watching Brad for a while and from what I gathered appeared to be a gay man, which is absolutely fine. Then all of a sudden, he’s “with” or “dating” or is “couples with” a girl and I’m so confused. There’s no hate towards Brad, I’m not telling him how he should identify, but it is quite confusing. Over on insta especially I’m over there trying to gain clarity and getting even more confused. People are saying “Brad is 100% gay, he’s never identified otherwise” then some are saying “Brad is bisexual, he’s said that before” and with the whole “oh yeah straightener, all you have to do is turn it on and it makes any guy straight” confused me because it’s like okay so this whole thing is for a straightener he’s releasing, makes sense he’s a hairdresser he has hair products already released, then some people are saying “no, he’s not releasing a straightener, this is his way of saying they’re a couple” “he’s seen everyone thinks he’s straight now, so now he’s making fun of everyone who thinks that with this” “go watch his podcast it says everything” and I’m like I have no idea what’s going on. It doesn’t help that I’m autistic too, so like this “straightener thing” going on could very well be real, or fake and their so called relationship could be real or fake but I’m not taking in the social cues and have no idea how to interpret it. For me, it is coming from a place of confusion rather than it is to identify his sexuality, be angry at him, want him straight want him gay.

I saw a Facebook video yesterday where a openly gay man was engaged to a woman. He said he'd never felt any sexual attraction to women before he met her. He fell in love with her as a person, enjoys the bedroom action but could never imagine doing it with another woman than her. She is his best friend and the love of his life. Engaged to be married. He said he's a gay man who just happened to meet the one who also happened to be a woman. Sometimes we can't control who we fall in love with so what if it's someone of the same gender or opposite gender. Should that man be denied that kind of love because he identifies as gay and she's a woman? I say no.

I also prefer labels as 'gay' or 'queer' over bisexual because it doesn't feel right for me when being attracted to real life men is a rarity (attracted to fictional men being different). You can label yourself however you like but it doesn't change what you are. People who are attracted to the person are demi. They usually do not feel attraction to a person until they know them fairly well. Your daughter has demonstrated a sexual preference.

If you came out as gay years earlier and now you're suddenly not, it feels disingenuous and makes people less likely to trust anything you say, this new revelation included. Or like when everyone thought you had a twin brother. Or the time you switched out the mannequin head with the box dye. Makes you seem like a liar and gives pause to the fans who may have seen you as a gay icon, as well. This is giving beard vibes instead of pan/bi vibes... really don't think it has anything to do with females thinking they have a chance with Brad Mondo now or jealousy or ignorance. It's literally just a confusing statement to come out with and it feels even more questionable because there's no romantic chemistry or exciting banter that makes you think these two are anything more than just friends. I've seen him have more chemistry with random guests that have come on for a makeover. That being said, it's no one's business and if you want to go be with a chick, go for it. BUT don't act shocked when people are like... wtf is he talking about, didn't he say he was gay? It makes it feel like a marketing tool to get people to listen to the podcast. That's all.

@@marilyn1660 I haven’t finished the video yet, but what exactly makes you think that people can’t change their attraction? I mean people say they like pineapples one day and wind up saying they hate them two years later. People change, people evolve, and people experiment to see what they do and don’t like. It’s human nature 🤷🏼♀️ It may feel disingenuous to you, but I think the majority of real fans don’t share that same feeling. It’s not lying, it’s evolving, and even if it was/is a marketing ploy, majority of fans know him well enough from his videos to realize that it would all entirely be a joking manner. While, yes, many have been/were skeptical of that, it doesn’t mean we didn’t trust him because of that. Companies do marketing ploys all the time for the sake of bringing attention to their brand. That’s basically what sponsorships are. If that is/was what it was, it’s creative and it’s smart. It got people talking, which is what the point of marketing ploys is, and it was different. I think some of it does amount to females with attraction. However, I think most of it is the fact that people are interested. It’s like a real life reality show and people are waiting on the edge of their seats for the answers they’re seeking. Many people, even in this comments section, will have to disagree with you on the matter of chemistry. Sooooo many people think they have romantic chemistry. While I don’t really agree, I haven’t fully watched most of the videos including Sophia. I think this whole thing was a good idea, even if it’s a marketing tool. Maybe it’ll help people realize that it’s not lying to say your gay years before and then say that you have a girlfriend because sexuality is not different from liking or disliking pineapples. It’s a game of experimentation and what feels right then. 3 years ago what felt right to him was coming out as gay and maybe now what feels right is to be with her. I honestly hate labeling in the LGBTQIA+ community for reasons such as this. They can be good, but people who don’t see it this way and see it as lying and deception when you change your label or experiment with another ultimately get confused. Plus, it’s never sure that even that person knows their label, so I really think everyone should just go with queer, but then you also run into the issue that Brad discussed of not knowing exactly what queer May mean for that person so idk, I just hope he’s happy 🤷🏼♀️

I think it’s a blessing to have a more broad perspective of your sexuality, as long as it’s not hurting anyone and each person consents to it. Life is too short and you gotta go with what makes you feel good and you can experience different types of love and pleasure! The fact that Brad feels the need to give people answers is sad because everyone needs to stop putting so much pressure on him. He deserves to choose how and when he wants to express or show off his sexuality/love to the people he is attracted to, whether that’s privately or publicly.

Bisexuality is an attraction that is inclusive of anyone regardless of sex or gender, and you dont have to actively seek out/sleep with/be in a relationship with certain genders in order to "qualify"/identify as bisexual; as long as there is an attraction, that's all you need. A bi man that never ends up sleeping/being in a relationship with a woman is still a bi man, just like a bi man who never ends up sleeping/being in a relationship with a man is still a bi man, just like a bi man who ends up never sleeping/being in a relationship with anybody is still a bi man. Bisexuality is a spectrum. It doesn't have to be (and for most people, isn't) a 50/50 split; it can be 60/40 or 75/25 or 90/10, and it can even be fluid at different points in someone's life. Because, again, bisexuality is a spectrum. *!* This isn't necessarily to say that _Brad_ is bisexual, because his sexuality and experiences are his own to define/label (or to not define/label), but moreso for those that seem to forget that bisexuality even exists in the first place, or have a blantant misunderstanding of what bisexuality even is.
@strangeduckling
6 ай бұрын
Also, just to clarify: Bisexuality is, and always has been, inclusive of anyone regardless of sex or gender. Bisexuality has always been inclusive of trans and nonbinary lovers. The "bi" in bisexual does NOT mean "man and woman," nor does it mean "two or more"; the "bi" stands for 1.) homo ("same as"), and 2.) hetero ("different from"), meaning bisexual people experience both homosexual and heterosexual attraction. Since every single person on the planet falls into this category ("same or different sex/gender as me"), bisexual people thus have the capacity to be attracted to anyone, regardless of gender.

This is for Sophia: Demisexual is on the asexuality spectrum. I am demisexual and what you described yourself as matches the definition. You seem slightly confused between sexual and romantic attraction. If you are attracted to men (or women) but don't get sexually aroused unless you create some form of emotional connection first, you are demisexual. It is not only women who experience this type of sexuality. You can be a sexually active person with a romantic partner and still be on the asexual spectrum. I know it is complicated!

Brad, I don’t care what your sexuality is. However, I think, like Sophia, I’m more confused on your situation ship than when I came into this video. Watching this video, for me, was simply out of curiosity of what this relationship is. It wasn’t about if your straight, gay, or bi, like you said it’s not my business and labels are kinda dumb sometimes anyway. I was more just curious on the relationship status here, if that makes sense.
@lindasamba4816

Making this relationship a topic of discussion then being upset that people are talking about doesn't seem crazy to you? He even called them a situationship/relationship in this very video implying something is going on between them but if people speak we're all up in his business??? I love him but this is stupid
@Beautybyjazzy

@@lindasamba4816 please, don’t twist my words. What I said was his label was none of our business. I was not referring to the relationship itself when I said that. I think either they don’t even know what the relationship is or it’s a marketing thing or it’s to keep him relevant. Personally, I do think it’s a bit odd, but there is a reason behind it, they’re just not sharing it yet (or maybe never). My comment was referring more to his label as a member of the LQBTQIA+ community, not to the label of their relationship. I suppose I should correct myself, the last paragraph was more towards his label. Even though I agree this is odd, it is still none of our business. You can talk about something vaguely on the internet and the rest still be no one else’s business. It’s not affecting our lives in the slightest not knowing or knowing about his label as a part of the community or their relationship status. That’s just my opinion on it all though. You don’t have to share it or like or even read it. I just stated my thoughts.

The only reason people care right now is because you made them care by posting like you're in a relationship... thats it. Thats the whole reason. The people who are "mad" or "upset" aren't real fans. We're just wondering if you're actually dating or not. If you are we're happy for you and if you aren't we're still happy for you. But people are curious. It just came out or the blue and with your new straightener product coming out people were wondering if it was just a publicity stunt. That's my 2 cents no one asked for

Sorry for all the typos in my slew of comments. I was painting my nails and commenting. Also none are meant as criticism, merely commentary as i was watching. I saw a filmcooper video which commented on whether or not yall are fake dating to create buzz. It brought me here out of curiosity. While that video waa negative towards Soph and i do enjoy cooper's videos im not here out of sophia hate. I have no horse in that race and can see both sides i agree sophia didnt owe that other girl anything and she didnt do anything wrong. i wouldnt have went about the after math the same way. I wouldve talked to the other woman directly to avoid any misunderstanding. I certainly wouldnt have made a video after the guy got back with his ex describing him and the dates in a way that appeared as if she was swooning over him. Either way i loved listening to this video and you earned a new sub

Brad and Sofia are in love but it will take time and a lot of effort to Brad to prove his love for her. Mostly because he is still attracted to men and Sofia will want exclusivity and a monotonous relationship and nothing less than that. Greetings from Europe ❤

Thank you Brad. I have been watching you on and off many times. I stopped watching youtube etc when my daughter was diagnosed with cancer, and eventually passed away. We loved watching you together and so watching alone now was a bit painful but then you always cheer me up. So I have only recently started watching again and your last video that you had a girlfriend had me so confused, because I recalled a prior video with your brother where you clearly said you were gay. I had to scroll and scroll the comments, which frustrated me so much because people were accusing you of a money grab. In the end it doesn't matter, but it does also cause your persona is tied to who and how you think of yourself. Loved you before, love you now and even if you are gay, straight, bi, pink, purple, blue, blonde, whatever, I just don't want to be like "He said what now?" Hugs from North Macedonia.

Trying to explain the backlash, since a lot of people don't seem to understand it. No hate to any party: 1. Brad Mondo has a reputation for attention-seeking and people assumed this was marketing at the expense of the gay community which is just tacky. 2. Brad Mondo has always said he's gay. If he's not gay, then people will feel misled. People don't like being mislead. 3. If Brad was gay but is now not gay because he met Sophie it feeds into a narrative that gay men can become straight or bisexual if they meet the right girl. And there is already enormous societal pressure for men to adopt traditional masculinity which include compulsory heterosexuality. And with so much of his audience being straight women, it feeds ideas that can be actually materially dangerous to gay men, especially young gay men. Btw: all evidence points to sexual orientation being fixed and permanent and in men there are very, very few exceptions to this rule. 4. If Brad kept his sexuality private, never talked about being attracted to anyone and didn't talk about his romance with Sophie this would be an off-limits topic. But he's done all of those things, so his sexuality and relationships are part of his public persona (by his own choice) and subject to scrutiny.

To help clarify the term “asexual” Brad is correct that the most common and well known definition is someone who does not feel sexual attraction towards anyone. However, like the more complicated definition states, there are varying degrees of this. Someone may be asexual in the sense that they don’t need to have a sexual relationship with someone, but they may choose to have one with their partner if it pleases their partner. Then there’s demisexual which is someone who feels sexual attraction to a person only AFTER they have formed a strong emotional bond with them. I hope this helps! 😊

Sex education short version. My best friend was Intersex but didn’t find out until she was 23. She wanted to know why she couldn’t get pregnant. She finally went to a specialist who discovered she genetically tested XXY. She had outwardly female genitalia. She had a vagina, small non functional uterus and one ovary. Internally she also had testicles. My darling friend had always identified as female and was only attracted to men. She was an attractive woman who was tall, with broad shoulders and was somewhat muscular with a tremendous sex drive. She was also curvy and carried weight in her hips and legs. Her fiancé said he didn’t care because she was a woman no matter what her genetics were. They got married and later adopted a baby boy. She passed away a few years ago from COVID. She would be fine about my sharing this information.
