College definitely has more value depending on your socioeconomic status. First lower income family value stability and education let alone lower income family will have to pay less due to fafsa, css, and other income based aid. Likewise, if u have speller gpa, standardized... and use net price calculator estimating metrics you can find a school that you are likely to go free. I do believe college is not worth it if your ROI is 💩 like 1 or less or maybe up to 1.5 for doctor etc. In the end that gurus advice means nothing as if you are passionate you would have started your business while in highschool where you are making a solid income where college seems very very foolish.

For most people, yes. Because being an entrepreneur isn't for everyone - some people are absolutely happy being employees and living a low key but comfortable, content life. And self studying aka being self disciplined and insightful enough to know on your own from google etc what to learn to have the knowledge and skills equivalent to an engineer, psychologist or business major, is really hard at age 17/18. You only learn this from actually doing that degree and then working in the field that ok maybe course A wasn't helpful in my job but course B was. However if u change jobs within the field, maybe knowledge from course A will then come in handy. And that's another reason why college is helpful. Even if you try entrepreneurship and you fail, you have a back up plan of working as an employee. It's good to diversify :)

Hey, so normally I don't comment on video's, but I'm studying for exams and I could use a break. It's an interesting video, but there's one thing that I kinda miss. both of you are talking from a highly successful point of view. Not from an average point of view. And whether you like it or not, most people are average... The average college student simply makes more than the average drop-out. Even if they end up in the same job or the same company. The college student gets payed more, sure you can do a side Hussle, but simply not everyone will be successful, degree or not. Also... When you burn the ships it isn't a guarantee that you'll win the battle, you might just get everyone killed...

Plug for social science degrees I know everyone likes to throw out that gender studies degrees are a joke, but if you are someone who is planning on continuing education, having experience in social sciences radically change how you process and interact in spaces (or if you’re leaving by undergrad w 2 degrees) I have a gender studies BA and in my graduate programs had to explain to an international lawyer that gender violence is real and we can look at stats or do a historical analysis to prove this, but in his work as a lawyer/policy maker it’s essential for him to understand info like this or he’s not doing his job (which he wasn’t). You can take social science ideas to improve as a business person, doctor, lawyer, accountant, etc. it just depends on how you choose to use your education bc yes it’s 100% true certain degrees don’t have a clear career path forward which also means we get to get creative☺️

Not going to lie, I agree with the millionaire. College is way overpriced, isn’t the best way to become rich or successful, puts you into loads of debt, and offers many useless degrees along with only a few genuinely useful ones that couldn’t be learned for free at the library- so yes by and large it’s a scam. This video might even just be propaganda to make successful business people that avoided college, look like bad people. The college guy may have dressed well and been polite, but that doesn’t change the fact he is still factually wrong. You can wear nice clothes, smile nicely, look good, and be respectful- but that still doesn’t make 2+2=5.

In the 21st century you can sell anything to anyone, just as you said he sells "false dreams to teens" which is quite funny you say that because university can also sell false dreams to teens, this topic should not be debated because of the simple fact that you can be successful with or without college. If you didn't know the founder of universities "Pope Gregory VII" didn't achieve a form of university education before creating (obviously cuz he created it) he just believed that there was a better way to teach people. You can create something that provides value but don't fall into the trap that there's one way system of success the way most of society has fallen, Pope Gregory VII was so smart that he manage to get nearly the whole of society to love his product enough to make them not choose other products so be careful in what you say we are influenced remember that.

There is nothing wrong with a safety net. Higher education can grant some people the necessary buffer they need to launch into different ventures. Like I always say you can lose everything in a day. But the difference is the person with the degree can lean back on their credentials and their job history to start from zero again. People with degrees in well paying fields have the income to now take risks as opposed to the 18-year-old with nothing. The person with the degree is now in a more advantageous space and their probability of success is way higher.

College is definitely worth it if you don't know what to do. College can be a place where you can find new ideas and your passions. Telling someone to start a business is not as easy as he says. Most entrepreneurs fail and failure costs time and money. Good for him that he got successful but that's not gonna apply for everyone. Some people try their hardest, go into financial debt and still fail at their business. You should take risks but you should know that it doesn't always lead to success.

If you're plan is to start a business and be an entrepreneur why go to college, and waste 4 years of your life? To get Ideas for your business? What the heck? Are you guys for real? Finding a business Idea is not like some complicated math or chemistry problems to figure it out. Business is hard YES, but it is very simple and only requires consistency. What you guys dont realize is that in business you're gonna fail regardless of how hard you work for it. But thats part of the process you have to keep failing to know what you don't know. It's just like anythinf in life, you workout you have to push your muscles to failure to get to the nxt level. Failure doesn't mean the end of what your doing, it's only telling you which areas you have to work. As long as you don't GIVE UP and push through failures and learn from it.

You don't need a college degree to build a business or to start a business. Business is Hard yes but it is not complicated it is actually quite simple that only needs consistent work. And like what I've said failing and Giving up is two different things. A lot of people don't realize that failing is actually healthy. At the end of the day you have to fail to know what you don't know. And we all start at ZERO we all have to suck first before we get good at it. Being successful has nothing to do with luck. It takes failures after failures to get the skill sets the you need to become successful.

Honestly, no offense to the other guy, but what he's talking is literally saying like I rolled a 6 after so and so turns so everybody will roll a 6 at that time. No, it's never gonna be the same. Firstly, completely respect his ideas that the grind is what gets you over but not everyone has that level of passion for what they're doing and someone someday might just give up. It's about determination and college grads can have that too. Took him exactly the same amount of time to get a successful business as a college degree. Secondly, not everyone is prepared to take a risk, not everyone will take a risk. Just because you got to the good side of the risk doesn't mean there's nobody on the other side mate. Risks can be worth it or can be devastating that's why they're called risks. At the end it's about who's willing to wait to get a stable foundation and who's ready to just try and jump to the highest level taking risks. Great video, and a very enriching discussion!

The Main problems that I find with these ‘Millionaire dropouts’ is that they lack perspective on the value of college & the path it takes you on, and also lack context. These kinds of people are usually very insecure with themselves & just mimick what other people who’re smarter than them are saying without context. I Highly doubt Elon Musk would’ve been as successful as he is if he didn’t go to UPenn (& Stanford). These college dropouts that made it big & did something with their lives are building companies that’s actually influencing the World - at scale - which isn’t Even comparable to a ‘Millionaire dropout’. Hence, they’re insecure & mimick people smarter than them & taking their Quotes out of context to fit their reality in order to feel better. All this while lack of perspective, context & the path that college provides. Sidenote: My observations about these ‘Millionaire Dropouts’ is that they usually come from poor backgrounds, weren’t that academically inclined, and think now that by generating $X millions from selling Courses or doing Social Media, that they are somehow useful citizens.

And after all, he is making money on KZitem, had he started 4 years ago, may be he would be a millionnaire now, who knows. We don't need college degrees. We need skills. When you go to a doctor, do you ask him to show you his degree or you pay for his skills ...we don't need degrees, we need skills. The system makes us feel comfortable having a degree, but that's a dangerous comfort. Numbers always tell it right, one is a millionnaire, and the other is just an employee at the same age. Assuming their smartness to be in the same range as you can tell from the video, the only difference is that one spent too much time at college, while the other was out there making money.
