Goa State/Province on the West Coast of India is one of the most loved and explored tourist destination by both our domestic and foreign national visitors. Very much Tropical climate with stunning beaches however South Goa region of Goa State does also have lush green dense rain forest, mangrove forest, lakes, waterfalls, hills on the UNESCO World Heritage Site-Western Ghats.

One place in the USA like Goa is Louisiana. The French Quarter of New Orleans is like Fontainhas in Panaji. These places have great whiskey. Goa has John Paul and Louisiana has Sazerac. Then both places have great musicians. Louisiana has Fats Dominos and Goa has Lorna. Both places have great universities. Louisiana has Tulane University while Goa has BITS. Also many Goans look like creoles of Louisiana. The food is also excellent in both places. Louisiana has Po Boy sandwich while Goa has Choris Pao. Louisiana has King Cake while Goa has Bebenca. Louisiana has Jambalaya while Goa has shrimp Pulao.

Being a fellow goan who enjoys tasting foods and cusine from around the globe, your post was interesting to see your reaction of goan foodies. As a goan I would never step into "Martin's Corner", not only is it overhyped, since its run by outsiders and cooks that murder every goan dish they make. When in Goa the best places to eat are via word of mouth, and only take advice from real genuine goan locals, because all goans love rheir their food, dance and music. Nowdays most of the food joints are taken over by outsiders, so they dont reflect true goan cusine ... if you love dood get invited to a goan household to experience true goan hospitality. Loved your son's reaction in the videos and he seems to mirror your love foor tasting food. Hope you'll visit Goa again. Cheers !!

Martin's Corner is one of the oldest restaurant around South Goa District, when not many restaurants were available in Palolem area in South Goa District of Goa State. Personally been there couple of times that too decade ago and then it had very good service which sadly currently not up to the mark. Yet if you want to try only Sea Food like Crabs, Shrimps, Prawns, Salty Fishes, Martin's Corner won't disappointed you. They specializes in Sea Food but of course now many other new standard quality restaurants have emerged which are giving tough competition to Martin's Corner.

I am from Goa and i have to say that there is so much more to Goan food than the beef cutlets and the pork sorpotel (although these are the popular favorites) It's a coastal state so there's a wealth of seafood like calamari, prawns, crabs, lobster, shellfish. Try a fish thali at Stomach in Mapusa. Even though choriz pao is a novel snack and very popular with tourists, you have to keep in mind the spice content of most dishes. Goan sweets are some of the most unique in India. Bebinca, dodol batika, bolinhas, kulkuls, neuris are just some of them. Mr. Bakers in Panjim and New Market in Margao have some of these. So glad you enjoyed yourself in our beautiful state and one of Indias favourite tourist destinations. 😊👏🏻👏🏻

I will tell you what is Great about India in an objective way. If you exclude Island countries and look at the Global South region then only 3 countries are continuous democracies from 1970 to 2020 1) India 2) Botswana 3) Costa Rica Also if you see GDP growth from 1970 to 2020 then Botswana has been the fastest growing democracy and India has been the second fastest growing democracy. Only those countires which implemented development oriented dictatorships and coercive measures of population control like one child policy have grown faster than India and Botswana. However I have seen that many people are too critical of India and love to slander it. Rather than looking at India objectively they see India through their religious and political biases. Instead of criticizing the political systems, laws and economic policies in India they criticize the culture and Dharmic religions in India. International media likes to get information about India through these critics and no wonder the information about India is extremely biased. Indians are scared of these critics because they feel that they have brainwashed foreigners against India.
