Is the treatment for low frequency tinitusbthe same ? I hear its the more bothersome tinitus which is what ive recently developed. Im extremely anxious it could be something sinister like a accoustic neuroma :(

I’m one of the 85% that the sound devices have helped a great deal. Before them, I was going out of my mind. I wish I found you before I paid $5000 for mine. All in all, the CBT with Dr. Michelle with the use of the tinnitus maskers are a blessing. Most of all, your right when you say most doctors don’t understand tinnitus or even show compassion like you and your team from treble health. Ty Dr. Ben for caring so much to take the time to put out these life changing videos.

You are so right about doctors they need to get informed. If I had been told about habituation this would have been such a comfort st the outset. I thank God for Ben Thompson he set me on the road to recovery and now 1 year on my tinnitus is healed to a point I barely hear it. Yes sometimes I gave a spike, but I relax about it knowing it will pass, usually overnight. Thsnk you Treble Health.

I have a very loud tinnitus which lead me into very severe depression. I really wanted to die. I was aware of it all the time. It took me more than two long years, but I finally habituated. My tinnitus is still the same (it did not change at all; same loudness) and nothing can cover it (I hear it absolutely everywhere, even in very noisy places), but my brain is forgetting about it (meaning I am not aware of it) probably 85% of the time, maybe even more. When I become aware of it (like now while I am writing this comment) I no longer care because I know that soon or later my brain will « ignore » it again. I really think that once your brain understand that this high pitched noise is not an « enemy » nor a « threat », it can move to more important things and start « ignoring » the noise. If I managed to do it, knowing from where I was coming from, I think there is hope for those who are currently suffering. Just my two cents, I am not a scientist and have nothing to sell 😄. All the best to you !

I had never really struggled with tinnitus besides a few times after concerts. On August 9th 2022 I woke up with ringing in my ears, I would describe it as a very high pitched beeping. Heard it in both ears, then went away on my left ear but my right is pretty loud. It's now October 5th. I had covid in May and I have a feeling that it's a result from covid. Went through major depression anxiety and insomnia all June and July and was getting better the first few days of August until this tinnitus started. I went through a very rough 3 or 4 weeks of bad sleep and a major spike in my depression and anxiety. Now I'm happy to say that it's either quieting down or I am habituating since I can barely hear it. I'm sitting in my living room no TV no fan and I can hear a faint beeping, although it changes constantly and sometimes it becomes very high pitched which is a bit annoying, but its not really affecting my sleep anymore. The second week of having this was the worst, anyone going through this just know if you stay active and just keep pushing through it, it will get better. My worse days is when I have to work at home or in the office where it's really quiet. I find that if I'm active and focusing on my family or my work and outdoors, I have actually realized a few times that I wasn't hearing it at all. I have an appointment on the 10th with an audiologist but at this point I'm not in high hopes that they will find a solution, been almost 9 weeks since this started but now it's not taking over my life like it did back in August. Stay strong.

I sometimes feel like I can hear a song or a melody of some kind like if theres music playing in another room when there isnt and I did have this song that was stuck in my head day and night and it stuck like almost all June and July. Also, sometimes the ringing seems to quiet down but its replaced by like this faint sound that is not ringing or beeping but it's like an electrical type sound, its very weird. But lately I've really been working at trying to change my thoughts and feelings about it. I try to shift my mind from it by doing things I once enjoyed. Working on my cars has always been an outlet to me. I actually have an "automotive" youtube channel that I was working on but this anxiety and depression plus tinnitus took every ambition and motivation completely away, somedays just getting out of bed and taking a shower was all I could do and having this ringing in the ears was literally making me feel insane. But I feel like those days have passed and I don't allow myself to fall that hard. If there is something I gotta do and I feel no motivation or even anxiety about it like going to the office where its quiet or a meeting in small conference room where I can really hear the tinnitus, I count down from 5 and just force myself to get up and do what I gotta do and focus on something else. I saw this Instagram post where it said, "where attention goes, energy flows" so I really try and focus my attention on something else besides by ears and it seems to be working. I am hopeful that I will get completely past this bad episode in my life. Having a positive outlook and making a conscious effort to replace bad or negative thoughts with other thoughts has slowly made a difference in my life. I know how bad this can knock someone down and I hope you keep improving to the point where it's no longer such a burden. I am confident we can get there.

Hi, thank you very much for such an excellent channel. I have been suffering from Tinnitus for the past 20 years. I tried everything possible on the planet. Nothing work I’m very happy that I came across your channel. At least I know that I’m not alone and I know there are people out there that are trying so hard for sufferers like me, I never tried cognitive behavioral therapy. I’m very interested in a zoom call and maybe proceed with your recommendation in the future. Looking forward for your answer.

Thanks Dr Ben for that great information. My hearing aids Starkey Livio doesn’t provide the tinnitus maskers. I do through You Tube videos with white or pink noises and so on. Sometimes, I do with my AirPods as well. I realized when I’ve a stressful days my tinnitus is awful so loud!

Hi Ben. I have been using some Shokz Open Run bone conduction headphones lately. I quite like them as i can still hear what is going on around me. Do you think they are as effective as maskers when it comes to sound therapy? I listen to pink noise, crickets , water etc. Depends on what sound my T is in any given day. It fluctuates.

I’m so disappointed that OTO313 turned out to be a big scam. That was kind of my last hope. I was so excited and happy when I heard about it. Habituation and breathing exercises and hypnoses never worked for me. I can’t afford $10,000 for hearing aids and do I really want to just stick hissing noise on my ears all day and then listen to the squealing at night because I can’t wear them to bed anyway. It’s all so hopeless and frustrating.

me too, but you can get good blue tooth hearing aids at Costco for $1400 including testing and set up also now that hearing aids can be sold over the counter the prices should drop. good luck .

@@1dluep I live in Canada though. Hearing aids are extremely expensive here and my insurance only covers $750 The ones for tinnitus are close to $4000 per ear plus tax plus all the other fees the doctor charges. And hearing aids aren’t included in medical coverage.
