I think what I liked about the old slingshot videos was that the slingshots would often be insane (impractical maybe), but what a sight to behold! I'd love to see some of the ambitious designs revisited. To be fair, I love the simple stuff like this, but I remember Sprave for the Gatling Slingshot.

I'm 70 now, but when i was a kid, we always carried a slingshot with us. When I got a bit older, I started using slings (not a slingshot). I got very good at using them. After a while, I got good enough to sling stones heavy enough to crush a skull (very handy when you live in the middle of nowhere).

Silicone spray is the best stuff to keep the rubber from regrading. Just keep the slingshot in a ziplock when not in use so the bands are protected from damage and to help hold the silicone spray fresh.

Jorg! Never stop with the slingshots they are awesome!! Question, could you putt big screws trough the arms to make them stronger? Or would you think it weakens it, also could you dril out the handle and putt steel tube for storing ammo/extra bands in it or would it weaken it to much? Such a great channel you have :-) This slingshot was super cool! When we were kids (around 10 years old) my grandad worked in a fishing tackle shop and when he visited us he would often bring really strong square shaped lengths of elastic with him. We would then go off into the woods and find a suitable branch that could be made into the traditional 'Y' shape of the slingshot (we called them catapult). Once we cut it, shaped it and often varnished it we would then attach the elastic and a leather pouch for the ammo. We often used small marbles! One of the best things we liked to do was hide on top of the hill and wait for the farmer to come. Once he was inside his shed we would fire at will onto the tin roof and boy did he get angry! I also remember how incredibly powerful they were. Such great fun...almost tempted to go out into the woods and re-create one this week....40 years later!
