Jay, Can you please make a KZitem discussing all fruit trees that can be planted around or close to a pool. Thanks

That’s crazy, Phoenix must be the only place in the world to not have spring or fall. 🙄

Use pigeon peas as cover crops. They grow fast and will thrive in heat.

What are the first trees that you would plant to start your food forest if you were starting with an empty palate with a west Phoenix back yard lot? Would you begin with your taller shade canopy, or your slower Tropicals?

I have a micro climate in one part of the yard where I could leave fruit trees in containers under cover or part cover of cottonwood or mesquite or Ash. Would that work to start a 15 gallon? What process would I use to acclimate a tree to full sun? I'm thinking peach, avocado almond and citrus.

How do we contact you?Love your videos! Thanks! I live in golden valley az. off grid. We have had success growing almond, mulberry, pomegranate and Rosemary. They are 5 years old. My 2 year old red orange tree started from seed has not done too well in this heat even in the shade house. We have horrible winds and no wind block. In the summer shade house I have a blackberry jungle but not much harvest. 😂. I have not had much luck growing Moringa, elderberries, or mangos either.

Are there ways to “cool” trees when it gets this hot?

Add several inches of mulch around the dripline of the tree and then wet the mulch thoroughly. Don't pile the mulch against the tree trunk, keep it about 6-8 inches away. Keep the mulch moist daily.
