@@nasheeds8218 @Drip Sosa All of you people here are talking absolute nonsense and it just makes it obvious that you have no idea what you are talking about. Your problem is perhaps addiction or not enough social interaction not fucking dopamine, you people really like to point fingers at the most obscure things while not realizing that going on walks, talking to strangest and saying hi to people will literally generate dopamine if there is any sort of positive aspect to it. You cannot fast dopamine when its a chemical your brain constantly makes even from the smallest things. Oh you drank water when thirsty? Dopamine. You cannot reset your "natural" regulation, your body is very good at everything it does and even if it did have the problem of developing a kind of pseudo tolerance, you wouldnt solve it by withdrawing for a week. "Dopamine detox" is useful in the fact that it 1. Causes you to distance yourself from things that are bad(too much social media, unproductiveness etc) and 2. Is a placebo. There is no logical reason why suddently reducing dopamine income will make you what, be more happy? So, by the way these people understand happiness, generate more dopamine...If a person believes something will help, it could very well do so, its the same as NoFap but it doesnt *actually* have any effect besides as I previously mentioned: Removing the negative ones and overcoming addiction. The guy in this video literally says that its use is to break bad habits yet people still blabble on the fad that you can have "too much dopamine" The guy talking about "extreme detox" is totally lost as well, saying that oh once he does this thing "he will be able to have a normal conversation", no thats not how that works. Maybe your problem isnt overload of dopamine but that you're a total moron, watching netflix doesnt cause you to be socially inept, lack of social interaction(mainly in childhood and teenage years) and insecurity does, watching netflix is just a thing that can replace social interaction, as can all things, we don't say that studying causes social ineptitude however so why do these things take all the blame? Watching too much netflix is more of a side effect of being inept than a cause *by itself* And yes I am very salty, because this whole thing is just a total fad(At least what some people say about it) and a simple google search will show you the truth. Its just people blaming things for the problems they have so they dont actually have to do the work thats required to solve them

5 Is it such a fast that I have chosen? a day for a man to afflict his soul? is it to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? wilt thou call this a fast, and an acceptable day to the Lord? 6 Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke? 7 Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh? 8 Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the Lord shall be thy reward. 9 Then shalt thou call, and the Lord shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity; 10 And if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noon day: 11 And the Lord shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not. 12 And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.

Doesn’t exercise do a lot for the creation of new brain matter. If the point of a dopamine fast is to up regulate dopamine receptors then why should exercise be excluded? Was exercise on the chopping block because of its membership in a high dopamine category or because neuroscientists have weighed the specific pros and cons of the activity on dopamine receptor up regulation? Lowering dopamine is one way of increasing dopamine receptors but I am unsure what current science says about the impact of other factors on up regulation. To me it seems premature to throw hard exercise off the list of things to do on a dopamine fast but I am not a scientist. Has anyone here dived into the specifics?
