He was wrong about the IITs. They weren't instituted for just IT education. India always had diverse industries, just that post 1992 they became more well known. People who are saying Muzamil is just talking nonsense are not even trying to understand what he's saying and criticizing just because they want to. Our economy is in a deadlock situation. One can easily say, you have to improve your exports and that's the only way to progress. But with factories closing, energy shortage and hyper-inflation - you can't really improve exports without the help of foreign currency coming in. Remember, our debt is in dollars and not in rupees. We want the dollars inflow in all cases and can't just blindly talk about patriotism and staying in Pakistan. In my opinion, in every house where there are more than 3 siblings, 1 must try to find a job abroad while rest of them can work in Pakistan to maintain a healthy balance. For the Indians who are bashing him - I live in middle-east and I see big organizations moving operations or getting work done from India as much as possible for those companies. The companies are not even Indian but the Indians outsourcing the work to India because they are in managerial positions. Khud sab kuch karna hai but wohi cheez koi aur karega to aag lag rahi because competition jo barh jayega. Anyways, I'm not anti-India and neither do Pakistanis who work in middleeast. Our people fight only while they are sitting in India/Pakistan. In abroad, they live like besties.

I have to respectfully disagree with capitalism. Here in the UK we have had capitalist government's since the seventies. It all started under Margaret Thatcher. From the UK model what we have seen is elites and corporations getting richer while the working and middle classes have been squeezed financially through excessive taxation while the rich and corporate businesses hardly pay any taxes because of offshore companies and bank accounts. The system is rigged for their benefit. During the last 12 years the Tories needlessly introduced 'austerity' measures targeting the UK's most poor and vulnerable, cutting vital services and financial assistance while enriching themselves. Trickle down economics is a myth. In a capitalist society only the rich get richer. The only way the lives of the poor and needy will improve is when the rich start to pay their fair share of tax and that money is utilized for social and development programs to help the not so well off.

I'll mention 3 issues i've seen that Pakistan suffers from 1) Identity crisis - they wanted to be like arabs. But arabs are arabs because of oil money. So they can do zilch all day and be ok. People in our countries (India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal) need women in the work force, and to engage with global world, for which you have to figure out who you are. Which is sharing the same DNA as India. So instead of some enlightened Islam that also worked with Hinduism and Sikhism, they decided to be ultimate arabs/muslims and have an issue with every religion in a bid to reject their past - which is what Alama Iqbal and Bhutto did, both who were half Hindus. A complete Identity crisis. 2) Foreign land holdings - starting from Jinnah, who divided India, created a Pakistan, then wrote letters to Nehru to keep his Bombay place as is so he can come stay there, or told Nehru to give it to rent to goras, not desis. His fascination with suits, and that's why you see all your elite who hold Jinnah in high esteem, wear foreign suits, have palaces in England, Australia, Canada. Your founding father, at age of 40, wanted to marry a 16 year old. As it was illegal, he had to wait till she turned 18 and he was 42, and then married her, she was his best friends daughter. You have to rethink your entire understanding of outer land holdings and associationship with women, and reject this notion completely. All the countries Pakistani's want to migrate to, have edcuated women in top most offices, and where it's safe for them to go out at 3am at night to drive and get some milk from the local 24 hour grocery store. 3) Pakistan studies - eliminate this from syllabus and study actual factual history. Not flights of imagination.

The majority of Pakistanis don't have the means to relocate and leave. This guy is delusional, its very easy to say yea its time to leave Pakistan! These people don't understand that simply escaping isn't always the answer as the struggle of financial aspects still continues. Also to add to this, The Saudis and Dubai nationals put their people first. They will rather promote an under qualified national that an overqualified Pakistani, he will be back in Pakistan within the year he goes. Then the podcast will center around why we shouldn't leave Pakistan.

It was good talk particularly on startups. That made me look at it differently. Though, not seeing the visible potholes in front of Pakistan's governance and still hoping that this is a temporary phase is just too unrealistic, a myopic view. As things stand today, there is no dissent allowed. Muzamil's idea of encouraging the exodus is good and bad both. If no intelligentsia is left behind to change the political discourse, nothing will change. The dissent rises in those who are capable of analysing or able to see injustice. So, if majority of talent leave, no capable talent will be left at home to be able to mobilise others to change the national course. Ideally those who can see it from vantage point lead the change. But these are usually those who have comeback from abroad as they can now see a better solution to improve their situation at home. They know that they don't have to tolerate existing situation any longer.

I've lived in Western Europe for the past 25 years and I have seen more and more migrants coming from India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. Why are all these young Indian Punjabi and young Pakistani men coming here illegally and risking their lives and prison in order to do this? I've been told that the Indian economy has grown immensely, etc. If this is so, why are all these young men migrating here illegally?

No country develops with a political winter without stability it's bleak..tell me one example where it happened.. Japan China Korea taiwan Germany all industrialised under dictatorship..these are the globalised wonder.. Also demographics is a issue look at Nigeria you have to absorb these people to jobs..also if you wanna even export population it's gonna be tough as Indian education system gonna pump 10× educated youth after a decade

i stopped watching the video right when he said kai Pakistan will restructure its laws in flavor of economy. Pakistan will have to do these reforms but only because of IMF. and those reforms will never transform Pakistan into a MFN nation. inorder to bult a investment friendly country Pakistan needs to deregulate the businessmen and regulate police , army and judiciary ... which will never happen
