LEGO is greedy. Terrible quality aswell recently. Piece count can't be compared since the new sets use way more small pieces, but are all in all the same amount of plastic. The only good thing LEGO has is customer service now.

I feel it’s not Lego that’s getting more expensive, but buying power from the common folk is going downhill and not adjusting to inflation

Licensing is what’s getting so expensive, alongside the variety & sheer number of sets that people want to collect

I feel like we're getting less stuff in sets & higher prices. We will never see another set like the 2007 MTT.

I feel like we are getting less in sets, but what we are getting is higher quality and more detailed parts and minifigures then past sets.

while you considered the inflation which i think is very reasonable, you didn't mention things that might (or imo should) also play into the value. such as the fewer different parts available years ago (can't criticize "bulky" builds that are older imo) as well as how big the included parts are...

I feel like Lego is getting more greedy and making worse quality figures, just look at the new and old arc trooper, they didn’t even use the 1,5 mold for fives.

And is focusing a yhigh peice count bulds like the Minecraft Creeper Ambush for $9USD is mostly builds and plates with very few bricks because it lacks big element to flush out the set... Making me atleast feel enemtpy with all those plates and dup builds left over from my moc.
@CaptainGrat75

This is why there needs to be a push to allow for more licenses, companies like gobricks should be competing with lego to drive down prices. Lego has gone too far.

Definitely having third parties would be a very good thing. But then, i also think many of them will start somehow making anti-compatibility features. Which would pressure the other parties to do the same. (Im thinking stuff like making new pieces that are only compatible with another new piece, and taking the focus away from building and playing (so to make sets more about prestige and display (which lego is already hella doing)))
@Pufferfishpussy

I think that's why the legal system needs to be involved because it invokes anti-competition. Lego is basically the microsoft/apple of building blocks.@@Rafaelforte-hs4bv

Short answer: Yes Long answer: The prices of Lego outside USA and EU are beyond laughable. In the Philippines the normal Starwars Lego set gets a literal price bump for no reason😂 battlepacks cost 25$ -30$ instead of 20$ for no apparent reason.
@GreenBlueWalkthrough

Inflatiion is funny... very funny... Because here in the US we perfore to keep it to 2% at all costs as that is best for the economy and inflation praticly is the buying power of the USD ... Which you can and most argue should keep prices the same irargless of inflation because it is perceived as good for the consumer and the industry... Like has any AAA video game failed because it was 460 not $70 in the past 10 years? Abnd some things never change prices like game consoles always between $100-$1k... So while inflation can give an idea of fairness in rality it's way more complicated then cars adjusted for inflation are about $30k and have been since the Model T.

lego isnt as expensive as it used to be at all. i live in brazil so if i want to buy something off bricklink i have to pay at least 50 dollars from shipping + convert dollars into my currency (5,50x more expensive than my currency) its completely pathetic getting legos here honestly, but i do gotta say that the price is somehow cheaper than it used to be +10y ago

@@LegoManCam it is more detailed, has that classic old Lego charm, and is just a more iconic looking set imo. Everything from the hyperdrive, the boarding ramp mechanism, the use of highlight colors that make the ship pop more than if it were just all gray. I am a sucker for old lego, so I am biased.

This video suffers from inflation matter mindset which is alot of ndustries it just doesn't... This video is a exemple of that... I bout lego thought all these years and never felt inflation mattering in fact I feel like lego is giving us much less then they did in the early years becuase again inflation doesn't matter atleast not to lego for me.
