I got the Milwaukee for Christmas last year and I love it. It feels more rugged than others I've seen, and, like a lot of their tools, you can tell it was designed by people who work for a living. My only gripe was the non removable handle since I have a tonneau cover on my truck. Technically it is removable by taking out 2 screws at the base of the handle. I found a company who makes a spring-pin to replace those screws (mentioned in this video) and it was a simple & complete solution to that issue.

Ridgid is my preferred kit. Not just the price, but the sure lock alignment, in addition to the metal clasps that lock the stack together.
@jamesnm21

What's even better is it's so easy to remove the handle with just the push of a button and just clips right back on. You can even bolt the wall mounts to the back of the handle rods to have a handy place to hang a box off the back when you're on the job. Once Ridgid gets the drawers to market (they're saying March now) they'll be going at the bottom of my stack and staying there. These boxes are made in Israel so the delay in drawers could be related to that.

Like so many others, I have discovered that the tool you need is always in the bottom box. I’m getting really tired of taking apart a stack just to get that tool out. I’m trying to find a system with decent drawers (or build my own) that can travel as easily as these, and has a drawer retention mechanism that doesn’t interfere with other drawers. In other words, the drawers stay in place until you unlock them and whatever locking mechanism doesn’t just flop down over the drawer unit below. I’m thinking the Milwaukee drawers might be the answer, paired with the dolly. Durability and accessories also play a role. If you could do a review of the systems with drawers, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks for doing all these videos. And your product designs are awesome! That also figures into my decision to be honest. If the system doesn’t have Weihe Design mod options, it gets a lower score. ;)

The pace of the videos are good, good angles, good camera and I liked and appreciate all the reviews, tests, feature descriptions and the test score in the end was a great idea too. You gained a subscriber. On the topic of the storage systems themselves...it always amazes me how the industrial designers/engineers miss obvious things YT reviewers spot immediately. I mean it is just incredible. Even the almighty packout system, clearly a winner in many people's hearts, does idiotic things like lid not opening whilst rear handle is extended and not being able to lock/unlock boxes with other boxes on top. It's as if they noticed these towards the end of their deadlines and had no more time to change it. But all that would be needed is to have focus groups....or even better...have youtubers get prototypes early on, with non disclosure agreement to publish the videos only once the company has finalized the product...let youtubers keep the product in return for feedback.

I wish other reviews were as complete and honest about the products as this one. It seems lately, most 'reviews' are actually just salesman's demonstrations like you used to see in the middle of the night on those shopping channels. Guys like Billy Mays going 'It slices, it dices!' is the vibe nowadays on 95% of the reviews on YT. They are not honest reviews, just a low quality sales pitch with Amazon links in the description. That's why I bought the worst mouse I've ever owned, the MX Master 3. For years, no one had an honest review of it and they led me astray. Thank you for being a good example to those sales-reviewer shills! Because Amazon links are fine, as long as you give an honest review.

It isn't easy to control a point total for the specific brands' entire universe of boxes and accessories. Packout is CRUSHING everyone right now and there seems to be no end in sight. There are some things I like better with the Ridgid system but they don't have enough options out. If you only need the 3-box stack then maybe you can have a legit comparison but I'm not even in the trades and I use many of the pack-out options. One of the most important pieces pack out has that allow for a majority of my uses is the mounting plates. It's too bad Ridgid did not come up with a flat (non-wall hanging) mounting plate option.

Now I actually have to check out your website too to see what other accessories you have for the Milwaukee packout the one thing you did not mention on any of the box systems under security the biggest problem that I see is theft and easy access to getting my property out of the boxes. A lot of people don't pick up on it, but it's the hinge systems itself. You can actually pop the hinges out and still retrieve anything inside of any box from the hinge side. I've spoken the Milwaukee. I've spoken reps. I've spoken to other big influencers when it comes to these videos on the packout system only, but as I've seen through your video with the other boxes they will have the same issues of theft. On the hand side, you can pop the hinge out and open it from the side of the hinge. Take it easy

Although, from the sounds of it, not all of rigid's gear connects to it - sadly... nay... pathetically. A thought... pick ups... they have that 2x4 insert in front and behind the wheel well.... I reached to Ridgid about their systems. I received a response. They stated Kretor was contracted to make their pack out systems and there was no plans to expand their platform at this time. Totally bummed me out as their system was decent quality and value for the money.

Ah... Grasshopper. The modbox gets extra points for the orange color/theft deterrent...it is noticeable walking off under someone else's power... and wherever it is it will garner attention, making it less desireable to thieves. Orange may be worthy of a two point bump. Sometimes UGLY is a beautiful thing!

Great video! with all the aftermarket mods these days does it really matter what system you go with? Basically buy what items you like and make adapters to fit them together. that would make good video content.

They are hard to find. I’ve only seen them in store twice and they were available online a few times this summer. Hopefully, @homedepot will have them on display in more stores for the holidays. I suggest looking online often until you see them available. They are nice boxes 👍

Packout's variety and build quality still makes it my favorite, but I refuse to buy my stack until they come out with a rolling base with drawers. Hopefully with a competitor doing this they'll get one on the market soon.

@@JakeWeihe wife bought me the packout for the (I was mistaken) $219 not $209. for early Xmas gift. I am a big Ridgid fan and a DIY’er (ex contractor) for the very good Lifetime warranty on their tools and quality very sufficient for around the house. But in this warranty being the same not the deal breaker. So thanks your reviews helped in my decision. Great comprehensive fair reviews.

@robinwendt5527 yeah..that's my point..everyone has Milwaukee. There's no difference in longevity or quality. Milwaukee impact driver may have a little more torque..but I do commercial refrigeration/hvac and my dewalt stuff as been great. The only time I couldn't break a nut loose with it is because it sheared the whole stud off instead lol.

Which plastics are the various brands made of? Even without destruction tests, knowing thst would allow making some assumptions about durability. For example the DeWalt Tough System are [mostly] polyethylene, which performs great in the cold, whereas TSTAK are [mostly] polypropylene, which gets more brittle in the cold. The manufacturers don't always publish this info, but they often have the recycle numbers molded in somewhere. Edit: getting conflicting info of the Dewalt box materials. Some places list them as polypropylene and ABS

Hopefully for those of you who are working in the field are smart enough to know better than to be rolling these in and out of people's houses. You don't need all the tools that are in that box or any concession in order to get a job done. Go out to your truck, grab the ones you need at the moment or put them in a tool belt and then proceed to work. Don't be dragging that all over the homeowner's properties and inside their house screwing up their furniture, carpet and flooring. If you work on a construction site, these kind of come in handy. But after a while, you get realize how annoying it is to unstack and re-stack a bunch of boxes when you're using. Maybe 10% of the tools in there during a day's time. Especially if what you do as a repeated pattern all day long, you're probably only using a handful of tools that doesn't require 14 boxes on a wheel system to be drug in like you're showing off a new car.

I agree with trying to bring in just what you need, but that is dependent on the scope of the work being done. I mean you should always clean up any mess you make in someone's home or if you can't take the cleaning bill anyhow. If the goal were to show off I'd roll in with all matching festool boxes and tables to set up. Of course you bring in a $2k-ish festool dust extractor or two also. lol

It's not just a matter if portability. For me as a painter I have alot of different tools and being able to organize them in these boxes increases efficiency. I will take the boxes I need and leave in my truck and pull them out if the box and put then back in when I'm done. Always find the tools I need this way

yea like he said during a build out or construction is different than a handyman. Bringing a Rigid with Paint and Caulking on it to a gig in a Nice Restaurant or Office for an electric or IT job are diff examples where two diff sets (or systems Like me) for light and Heavy duty work can be better @@MIKEC2000
