Majel is my daughter’s name, she’ll be 9 soon and has autism. We use a joint account. She thought it was so cool hearing her full name in a KZitem video. Majel was named after The Star Trek actress who really was a major influence and married Gene Roddenberry. It took me a whole day to find out how it was pronounced (May-Juhl) because even interviewers tried to avoid it. Finally I found William Shatner talking about her after she passed in 2008. Thank you for reading my daughter’s full name in the comments ❤

The style of Monica’s fencing is what makes her yard so hot. The air can’t move because the fence is solid. If they get a real strong wind they will more likely to get wind damage since they have a solid fence. If the fence had staggered slats that over lap with space (not sure watch sure what that style is called) so air can move through the yard would be much cooler.

Laura and Aaron, I just wanted to let you know how much I REALLY enjoy the Sunday morning ( for us) recaps! I get my coffee ( cold brew in the summertime), turn on the big screen tv which has KZitem on it, and settle into my comfy chair for the next hour. Even though I have watched all the videos during the week ( on both channels), it is always interesting to hear the answers to questions viewers have as well as the tidbits of information you guys give us ( i.e. I was thinking about my watering situation with a hose but due to where the water source (spigot) is located how could I implement a Hoselink without tearing up plants). Also, I always get a good laugh at some of the topics ( no I am not pregnant for hair color, different shoes, etc.). Ken’s Thank You on screen was a great touch!! Priceless. Thank you for all the time, effort and creativity you spend to bring us quality videos. ❤

Of course you can convert a sprinkler to drip. BUT, you have to be willing to give up the entire zone, so that it no longer waters grass. Then you program that zone to go off differently that your other zones. For me, the lawn zones get used for 30 minutes once a week (in MI), but the drip zone runs for 15 min every other day. You remove the sprinkler head, install a riser, and then your head assembly with back flow device, filter, pressure regulator, etc. Drip Depot is full of good advice to get you set up!
@anitahadley2871
Жыл бұрын
We have done this for several zones. Only we bought the converter piece that just screws into where the original sprinkler head was. Then we capped all the other heads in that zone. It has the back flow, pressure regulator built in.

We had a neighbor trialing one of those robot lawn mowers. It made their yard look awful. The thing was always out there running randomly around so the yard never seemed freshly done. The lines as Aaron mentioned are all over the place but the biggest issue was it did not do the edges and under plants. So by the end of the summer, there were weeds and tall grass around all the planting beds and shrubs. It looked awful. Clearly relying only on it did not work!

I just wanted to say I ordered a HoseLink for my backyard and it’s a narrower but longer space. I simply love the ease this has allowed me to reach plants in the very back of my yard in pots by my garden shed(still in progress) as I’m with Laura by the time I was done with a regular hose I was ready to “drop kick the hose” 🤣. I simply pull it out first then do the watering and then guide it back in the casing. I loved it so much I ordered a 2nd one for the front of my house. Thank you Laura and Aaron and @HoseLink 💜💜💜

For 20 years running a yard maintenance biz. I've field tested every flexi hose out there. IMHO the Zero-G brand holds up the best. The end fittings are high quality, constant pulling and abrasion doesn't seem to wear them much. One caveat, if you're going to hang it on a hose hanger or coil it, attach a hose end shutoff, wind it up with water in it; then release the pressure and drain the hose. 😊

Here in PA, we didn't have any cold weather at all this winter and very little rain and my buddleia died. I also had all my roses die all the way to the ground and only lost 1 but was really worried about what I would get , worrying that they would be that rose below the graft. Luckily, they all came back true to what they should be. I am thinking it was just the lack of the deep freeze they need and the lack of rain.

In regards to the question about the shredded hosta.....last year the deer ate some of my hosta while we were out of town. There was practically nothing left of the leaves. They came back this year but are half the size they were last year. The plants that didn't get eaten are huge right now. My thinking is to leave the leaves, as you said, so they can absorb nutrients for next year.
