Thank you so much! I like the way you simply stated the facts about Ooma service. I'm thinking about it, and I'm glad to know about the customer serve issue. You got those in my generation pegged right- we would probably overlook the whole upgrading issue. Thanks for the heads-up! I hope those at Ooma listen. I don't like even the appearance of being scammed by the fine print. I want to know what I am paying and will pay in the future. I appreciate the video Duke! Thanks again!

The company is based in Sunnyvale, California. The city I was raised in.... anyway, I am pretty happy with Ooma except for there customer service, where all they have are hard to understand foriegners in there C/S area.... I just wish they're equipment supported pulse dialing, as I have a lot of rotary dial phones in use....

Straight Talk sells a phone base service. Basically turns your landline into a cell phone. It uses cell towers as opposed to home internet. $15 a month for unlimited nationwide calling, $30 if you want unlimited global calling too. Plug you landline in and you're good to go.

I'm very sorry, but you didn't answer your own question: Is Ooma worth it in 2024? I would say: it depends. :) It was only two reasons for me to get it: 1. cheap international calls (if your relatives abroad don't have access to the internet) 2. phone set in every room. To my great regret, I have lost the need to call abroad. And I realized that 99.9 percent of the time I do not need a phone in every room. So, the conclusion is obvious - I have canceled it. But must say that I have used Ooma for about 15 years and was totally happy with it for $6.78 monthly at the very beginning it was $3.00. Thanks, Ooma, and good buy! Until I'll buy a much bigger house :)

I had that issue with them also because they didn't notify me either about changes and I'm a senior. I left and went with Straight Talk home phone service and hate it too. I get dropped calls and no tech support. If tech support doesn't want to handle something in Chat, they put a sudden notification that they are closed. Not exactly good business ethics. So the old man is searching for something else. 🤓

Sorry to hear that, it is quite a shame how many companies are like that.

I just like a home phone. It’s not cordless. There is only one princess phone from 1984….I just like it.

You ramble too much. Yeah, you missed it! It was your fault. Just own it. Ooma does exactly what they advertise, but you have to read and understand the terms and conditions before you press "ACCEPT."

"Ditto" @user-pb9qq7ti1k. You hit it on the nail. OoMo sounds great, but it's nice to know that the service was lacking. Also, check the fine print. Why should they hide a fact about their product? If the product works that well, then the fine print should not be something that makes you not want to purchase it. Do they have so little confidence in their product that they have to hide the fine print? Duke, thank you for your review.
