Great review , looking at upgrading from the Original Petzl Nao headlamp I bought 2 of 8 years ago here in SW France it gets used everyday November to March for getting in firewood , feeding the horses, the 200m wheelie bin drag. The original is still going strong albeit about to get its 2nd replacement battery (non genuine at 22 euros) . 15 euros a year for a great head torch can't be beaten

Corr, I was pretty jealous of your lifestyle until you mentioned the 200m wheelie bin drag haha! Happy to hear the Petzl Nao served you well all these years 🔥 That’s a generous price, 22 euros for battery, can’t complain with that if it performs a the same 😍 My only complaint with the Nao RL is how expensive genuine Petzl batteries are 🤣

Btw. the pack made out of white fabric to diffuse the light when you put it in there on. So you can use it as a camp/tentlight

Just to piggy back off this - which head torch would you recommend for night ultras, or better still which one did you use for Arc 100? Cheers@@ActiveIdeas

I'm releasing a video next week of the Petzl vs Fenix vs Silva head torch review. I'll go into all of this and have definitely found out loads during my testing which other reviewers haven't mentioned at all. Stay tuned.. a little spoiler is my favours torch is actually by Fenix.. but it's probably a head torch you've not heard of ❤️

Good review. It looks a nice headtorch. Unfortunately out of my price range. I have a Mil-Tec baseballcap light. It takes 3 aaa's and cost £6.95 in a sale from go army, normally its around £15 new, serves my purposes and is also zoomable. Bright also with new batteries in.👍

Cheers Craig! Yeah, it seems to have all the bells and whistles with the glaringly obvious issue being it’s insane price, having 1500lm strapped to your head is awesome though 🤭 Dayum, £6.95 is more my vibe vibe! 😉 I’ll have to check it out. Have you got a link?

Compared to the old Nao peak brightness is about the same but in in the RL it only lasts for an hour. If you use a non Petzl or battery bank to power it will be very dull. Big issue is it’s not waterproof and my was killed by the rain! Petzl didn’t stand by the warranty. Which is stupid if it’s supposed to survive Ultras

Sorry to hear that Petzl did not honour the warranty.. I’m pretty sure they’re legally binded to replace or repair your torch if you’re still under warranty and have suffered a manufacturing defect. I must say as well.. my Petzl Swift RL stopped working because of the rain and I contacted them 2 years and 2 months after purchasing the head torch (out of warranty). I didn’t mention that I had a KZitem channel, just went through a normal customer experience with them. No questions asked they replaced my torch and sent out the new one within about 10 days 👏🏽 I didn’t even know you could power this headtorch with a non-Petzl battery but it is just a USB-C connection so you’ve got me wanting to test out different power banks now 🤣 Out of curiosity.. what head torch do you recommend then, for ultra-endurance events? I’m all ears 👂🏼😍
