At the dawn of democracy in 1994, there was much optimism for a harmonised new South Africa. However, some contend that unity seems to be a pipe dream. Fadiel Adams started a political party to address issues that are specific to coloured people in the Western Cape. Next week, the Cape Coloured Congress will be on the ballot for the first time. In KwaZulu-Natal, where the Indian vote has been courted since 1994, the Minority Front says Indian people are constantly disappointed by unkept promises by bigger parties.
