If the final "episode" of season 1 were released I think it would explain why Loona is mad at Blitz in this episode. In the trailers, it shows Loona being happy with Blitz, but in season 2 we see she is the exact opposite with her constantly being mean to mostly everyone around which comes out of nowhere especially since we don't see her in the season finally

Will note that the episode has Moxxie outright state why the argument between Blitz and Loona is happening. He finally confronted her about her behavior as IMP's secretary. There were even multiple dates on a calendar referencing 'The Talk', which at first glance could be taken as something else but is about the topic I mentioned in the previous sentence.

True. Maybe Blitzo freaked out about her after that breakdown in episode 7. Like he’s more hyper protective of her because he’s still emotionally raw from seeing all that he’s lost, and he’s scared to lose her too. This could lead to Loona being embarrassed or feeling attacked or smothered so she lashes out a bit and that tension isn’t fully resolved by the end of the episode. So by the time we get to this episode she’s still pretty upset with him and is quicker to snap. It’s pretty unlikely this happened, but it would explain a few things at least a little

an issue with this is: stolas is easily distracted by blitz. Literally the only thing that would take his mind off of Octavia is blitz. Hence him sticking around during the sitcom part and the way he acted during the trip to loolooland. Hence, why I believe the only way this relationship issue will ever be resolved is if blitz ever figures out that he did have a positive impact on stolas.

Honestly adults have a weird way of not wanting to see the reality of things when it comes to relationships, when I was still married at one point me and my wife both agreed that we don't love each other anymore but we still dragging it out another 3 years before we got divorced. I feel like there was definitely a subtle shift in Blitzø and Stolas's dynamic. They were more openly hostile towards each other when they first arrived in L.A., and Stolas actually responded more tersely to Blitzø's remark about memorizing his spells than he would have previously. There was flirting, but it was way more low-key than the kind of flirting that went on in the Loo Loo Land episode. I get the feeling that there's some tension still beneath the surface, but the more pressing issue was finding Octavia. Their interactions this ep felt like a big cocktail of 1. A more urgent matter to attend to 2. Stolas feeling more haughty and empowered to sass back to both Blitzø and Stella 3. These two hot messes in general not being willing to address their issues with anything more than passive aggressive jabs 4. The chemistry and sparks still being there

Y’know.. thinking about why Loona gets so uncomfortable and aggressive whenever Blitzø gets physical with her… do you think she might be a little haphephobic? I mean it might make sense, she clearly wasn’t treated well in the pound. And that was like… 17+ years of her entire life of everyone whoever touched her being uncaring or malevolent? That can be pretty traumatic, which would explain the freakouts or discomfort whenever she’s touched, even by someone like Blitzø who she knows she can trust. It’s just a possibility, but touch aversion’s a real thing, speaking from experience.

Of course I agree. But I think it’s could fuel an interesting scene of how her constant violence and shouting at him really hurts him. But I think Blitzo is trying to provide her with what he was deprived of. He wasn’t treated well or loved as a child and he shows his how a child would, through physical touch. I can’t help but think about how it would feel to constantly be struck by your own adoptive daughter. We saw how he reacted to her outburst in the summer episode.

Ok. I know a lot of people already said some of the things I'm gonna probably say here that I agree with, but here's my take. I've been through the same thing as Octavia: parents divorced with a far more caring dad and a slightly unhinged mom. And Loona's advice does ring true, so there's that. As for Loona's behavior here, I think she's going through a relapse in her defense behavior. Sometimes people who have been through bad situations that deeply affect their emotions and fight responses fall back on the habits they developed as a defense to deal with future bad experiences. All it can take is one really bad day followed by a series of triggers to get someone like Loona to turn violent. She basically grew up in a pound/prison where she constantly had to fight for survival, so it would make sense if she feels like she needs to fall back to that style of defense during a bad relapse. Even the kick at the end could be seen as a defensive instinct kicking in after she dropped her walls for Octavia and is just starting to come out of her relapse.. IDK maybe my emotional trauma is causing me to rant, but that's how I choose the see it. I know I've fallen into my bad habits brought by trauma and have needed SEVERAL stern talking from my own dad to snap out of it, but it can be hard to break. But that's just me, overall it was a good episode. Had its ups and downs, could've used more work, but still enjoyable.

7:40 actually we don’t know if it is the next day. In fact if you look at Blitzø’s calendar (it is shown when he is confronting Loona in the beginning of the episode) you can see that his meet up with Stolas was written two times on the calendar, the most latest one having a ‘?’ which can maybe mean that Stolas was postponing the meetup, or else Blitzø just wasn’t really where they stood communication/relationship wise

@jaydonmagan4694

From what I’ve seen of teasers/heard, part 2 was meant to focus on a Hellhound related party-the one where it shows a dressed up Loona with a depressed Blitzo. Though since Viv said part 2 wasn’t something originally planned, and was more a victory lap sort of thing, I don’t think part 2 of the season 1 finale was going to expand too much on the overarching story. It definitely would have expanded on Loona and Blitzo, but I’m pretty sure that’s about it. here's my perspective on Loona assaulting Blitz at the end. That's her way of showing affection to Blitz in that tough love way. Yes she was very aggressive at the beginning, but i can also imagine that she didn't want a typical affection from Blitz right now. In fact whenever she wants to do something, she's very helpful (like being really helpful with finding Octavia and talk things out about the problem), but when she doesn't wants to, she gives that "emo persona" as i'll call it. Even though we don't see in this episode, i do think Loona does care for Blitz, but puts that persona as if she doesn't give a s**t about him or anyone. I mean, there is a reason why Loona nearly called Blitz "dad", but immediately cuts herself off (especially due to Blitzs reaction). It's a bit of a stretch ill admit, but it's at least something.

Also, i wanna mention about Octavia going in LA. 1) I don't think you need to say it out loud where you want to go and Octavia thought like that.Yes, Stolas teached her how to use the book, but like how Stoas said, he didn't teached her to use magic like that yet. Maybe during the teaching she did the whole "saying it outloud to remember for a test" or something like that. 2) Octavia wasn't specific at all. So the book thought she meant by seeing A SUPERSTARS. So LA was the pick. If Octavia knew the planet where their going to see Azathot's tears, then it'll all worked out (for example, if she said in her mind "take me to the moon" or thought about the moon specifically during the use of the book, itll take her to the moon. It doesn't need to be a moon specifically, but you get the idea)

I think an issue with Loona’s treatment of Blitzo is that we know he was mistreated and unloved as a child. She doesn’t realise that they are a lot more alike than she wants to accept. I think it’s steady growth and Blitzo is willing to accept it in order to keep her happy. I am certain we’ll see more growth but I also have a feeling we’ll see how badly her treatment really effects him behind closed doors and outside of work. It’s interesting. With the amount of abuse she levies onto him I wouldn’t be surprised if it made him hate himself or hurt him.

I can say that Loona's way of treating Bltiz this episode is realistic. The order of events we got: * Most recently shown Loona/Blitz encounter before this episode was her taking him home from Beelzebub's party while he was a sad, drunken mess. One of the first times in the episode she's showing genuine care for him (on top of having just rescued him & Moxxie from the demon hunters with Millie just days/weeks before). * This episode, taking place soon after the party episode, then opens with him saying she -isn't- doing things right (teen mindset & lack of self-confidence meaning she likely isn't registering 100% of what he's saying in the moment); being told, in her mind, that saving this person and showing genuine care for them is wrong ain't gonna go over well, especially when coupled with him saying he might consider replacing her after she tells him to do so (just her lashing out, with him likewise lashing out - though far less severely - in response and unintentionally hit some underlying trauma as a result). * They then drop everything to go after Stella, and (without knowing what's going on) she see's Stolas & Blitz get into a van and get driven off for some unrelated thing, leaving her the responsibility of finding Stella (since Moxie took him & Millie out of the picture for the episode). * She has a clearer head after finding Stella after a day of tracking, offers some comforting words & acknowledges (while her head is still clear) that both their dads are fuck-ups but are trying their best. * Then she uses the book to get them back to the dads; Blitz, in wake of his recollection sprints at her immediately like a sobbing maniac, going to hug the (still hurt) standoffish, socially awkward Loona and giving her only seconds to process what's going on (and not having the recent context Blitz does). First response, regardless of what you understand, would be keeping the maniac-dad at a distance until he calms down (in this case, with a bit of slapstick involving kicking the dad in the nuts and smacking him with da book).

I grew up with divorced parents, and though my parents weren't anywhere near as dysfunctional as Tia's, I definitely feel for her this episode. My dad did his best raising me mostly by himself, while my mom did all she could to tear him down behind his back. She spent so much time trying to get me to hate him so she could get custody of me. Looking back, I was a difficult child, but I appreciate what my dad did for me much more than my mom. She spent most of my life tearing me down, while my dad has never stopped lifting me up. He also never pressed my mom for the child support she legally owed him, because he was much better off than her, and prefered that she used that money to take care of my half siblings. He never insulted her, to her face OR to her back, and actually wanted me to have a good relationship with her, while she was constantly trying to ruin the one I had with him. She even managed to convince my siblings that he was an awful parent/person. Sure, my dad wasn't perfect either, but he did his best to raise his neuro-divergent child through all the challenges that stood in his way.

The argument during Spring Break episode, wasn't about her behavior, or abbrasiveness, but about her needing to get back to work, and her just wanting to take 5 minutes for herself. The argument "We have a job to do," is entirely different from the argument "Your behavior is a problem." So naturally Loona's reaction to the two arguments will be different. To be criticized, and harshly so, for so long, to believe you won't amount to anything, to believe no one cares about you and that you can handle things yourself, she would absolutely be pissed to have finally been adopted because it goes against everything she grew up believing. Blitzo never addressing her behavior until this episode (even noted on the calender in the room), makes it worse, because that means she's never been able to talk through her issues before. So we now have Blitzo, who has never criticized her behavior before, finally criticizing her behavior, she feels personally attacked. Not having an outlet for her problems before, she reverts to the idea "This is the Kennel all over again." So of course she's going to lash out, in her mind "you're just like them." I do, however, agree, her behavior towards Blitzo at the end, after her chat with Octavia, could have been handled better. But her behavior earlier in this episode makes sense... for now... When the unreleased final episode for season 1, finally does release, it could give us entirely new perspective on her behavior in this episode, that completely negates everything I said above. But until we finally see that episode, this is the best I can think of for Loona's behavior in this episode.

19:57 this scene reminded me that even if they are like me,they’ll still have each other, their fathers, the fanbase and Loona has Tex to care for them, while I haven’t got NOBODY,and this made me so ANGRY and SAD that I even searched up “how to kill a furry” on Google

I just realized Loona and Octavia's chat kinda broke the class walls a lot. You've got rich owl chick asking for comfort and advice from a hellhound, the lowest class in hell. But I totally missed it! It just felt so wholesome. Love that they hugged ❤ Edit:chick as in girl, did not realize that would have a double meaning

I personally think the worst episode is season 1 ep 4 cause it’s really just an old man and „ugly orphan children“ and there wasn’t really anything that’s important to the series , don’t get me wrong it was a nice episode to watch but I still think season 2 ep 2 at least shows us a new interaction between loona and Octavia that probably many people waited for . Also we was something to loonas „backstory“ . ( we also saw stolas as human , some Stolitz moments and Millie’s voice actor finally sang with moxx)

I don't know if it's the worst writing but it's a peak example of how the team somehow make me loathe Stolas more the harder they try to make me like him. I would outright *disown* my dad if he couldn't wait ONE DAY after seventeen years to kick my mother out, broke a promise he'd made and evidently reminded me of many times to see a once-in-a-lifetime event, forgot he could teleport and fucked around on a movie set instead of finding me when I ran away, and then tried to make up for missing my only chance in my whole life to see the meteor shower he'd been hyping up my whole life by showing me fireworks I could see any fucking time I wanted.

Some elements to think about: 1.) We learn from Stolas that Octavia hasn't learned many spells from the spell book yet (yes I know the real name but I have no idea how to spell it given how fancy/elegant the word is) including the transportation spell. 2.) The spell book to me is like the cutie marks in MLP GEN 4. A plot device that is never fully explained, but both pleasing to look at due to the design. 3.) Season One Episode Eight has yet to be released. Viviziepop and her crew have A Lot on their plate right now with their other show Hazbian Hotel heading to HBO, one of the most popular streaming services. Since then Vivzie, her crew, and Spindlehorse have to juggle two shows and deal with impatient "fans". Anyway, since S1 E8 hasn't been released yet, we don't know what happened between Blitz and Loona for her to be pissed off at him. All we got was two teasers, one that was a teaser trailer, and a leaked clip that probably shouldn't have been leaked given what's been going on in the background. We also don't know what happened between Stolas and Blitz in between S1 E7, and S2 E2. But we will find out eventually, we just need to be patient and let the crew make the episode and finish the season one finale At Their Own Pace!!!! (Seriously a lot of "fans of the show" have been bullies and it needs to stop) Also Yay DaWillistor Cameo!! 😍😍😍 Keep up the good work Finn! 🥰

I actually have a theory for why the book sent Octavia to LA instead of space because her request wasn't specific or detailed and I have an example Genie from Aladdin. He needed specific wishes to make them possible otherwise you get the closest thing to the request like Jafar getting turned into a Genie after wishing for godlike power The book sent her to LA since she said she wanted to "See the stars" And not "I wish to go somewhere where I can see the stars" like a planet such the moon it sent her to LA since that is where celebrities and famous peeps live so it is where 'stars' live

On the other hand it could be possible that the book only reacts the way it does depending on the user themselves The book has voice commands if the user is related to the actual owner of the book such as Octavia. As for I.M.P, it likely works with skill. When they first used the book it needed them to use spell circles since they weren't good with its magic, once they got better with the book it meant they just needed to use the spells without the usage of spell circles as they had gotten use to the refined magic of the book itself

I havent seen anybody talk about this but they reused a few character animations/scenes in this episode. The guy that rips off his shirt always annoys me when watching it because it was just the guy from spring broken in verosikas crowd. And he isnt even put in the scene that well. He just kind of teleports into existance and doesnt even get a voice line. The words ,,Brendan Ragers'' are just put on his chest and he opens his mouth mouthing ,,Verosika''. They couldve honestly just left him out and nothing would have changed. It would even have been better to leave him out. Later in the studio where ,,Sweetie im in the house'' is filmed, when the fire goes off there is a woman on screen that screams in terror. Now this is also from spring broken but it works since she doesnt just /tp into the scene like the other guy. She comes from the bottom of the screen and actually screams. I dont have that much of an issue with that. You could tell that they were rushed with this episode and it was probably easier to just put that in than animating an entirely new scream.

i think episode 3 is going to have an episode with Blitz and Loona together the one in the imp van that was coloured in the trailer, along with another trailer scene with Mox and the new demon we saw getting into some trouble and Millie showing up to stop it later and finally were gonna see Stolas and Octavia on a slow side adventure which is just them having a good time and a nice talk, not like at the end of loo loo land or this episode but just some little comments on things that would hint to episode 4 touching on the issues with Stolas and Blitz while Mox and Millie encounter Striker.

From episode 6 of season 2 just coming out yesterday, I just wanna say at this point I really wish Blitz made a sarcastic comment to Stolas about Ozzie's to show how mad he was about it, or to have made the Loona and Blitz argument more interesting like in episode 3, where Loona doesn't physically fight in, (Stella- *cough cough* ) but it would make for good tension and reasons for the "let's go find our daughters line" if there was a threat of Loona not going back to Blitz.

For you arguments on why Stolas and Blitz are not acting like nothing has happened I kinda don’t agree with it at least on wether it’s intentional or not mainly on the fact that if they had at least one scene where they were they tried ignoring the problem then it would make sense but that doesn’t happen any explanation on why they don’t do anything is purely just theory and not fact, so it kinda just feels like the writers ether forgot about it or they just don’t know how to incorporate it in the show. Second I don’t believe in the idea that there are more important things to do because they kinda do there own thing especially when they get on a show we’re they just play along instead of just leaving. But anyway love your videos and your content .

The episode gets a lot wrong but enough right to not be my least favorite. The biggest issues for me are: - The M&M subplot, while inoffensive in its own right, taking time away from the rest of the episode - Stolas being nerfed for plot convenience -- why can't he locate her? He located them in Truth Takers - The tonal whiplash between and in the middle of scenes, like the van - Blitz going on a murderous rampage while Stolas does nothing. I'm not expecting him to demon hulk out as he understands the consequences, but he doesn't even give a token "blitz no stop" when Blitz publicly murders half the set - Literally nobody reacting to an anthromorphic owl teenager walking around the city - Due to the above, there's absolutely sense of urgency in the episode, which Blitz and Stolas play into while they play along with an injoke that goes on too long. - Loona attacking blitz twice at the end in cartoony fashion Blitz' phone call and Stolas' reaction was fun. The M&M subplot was fun in isolation. The studio scene was fun in isolation. Octavia walking around the city was fun in isolation. But it wasn't tightly written or coherent like a lot of the other episodes. There's a few too many inconsistencies to move the plot around and far too much tonal whiplash. I understand they want to have comedy and drama but it didn't meld together effectively this episode. If the episode didn't have the ending scene with Octavia and Loona and the Blitz flash back, I do think I would have put this episode down with Cherubs. I hope this was just a fluke and it was slightly rushed due to something behind the scenes. Because I really liked The Circus.

Now hear me out. I don't hate Moxie and Millie as most people do but OMG! Was they the most useless out of the entire series here! The ONLY good thing they did in the episode was singing their love ballet and THAT'S IT! they could've easily stayed in Hell and it be a Blitzo, Stolas, Octavia, and Loona episode! They did absolutely nothing! Also @5:48 - 6:27. MANY people who reviewed this episode says that the reason why it was placed in LA was because Vizzie Pop had a bad experience there and wanted to use her pent up anger as some sort of Revenge and I can TOTALLY see that! Like either her or one of the writers had a bad time there! Like, the first time they talk about LA, Loona Says "Smells Like Urine and desperation" , then the "God Hate ___" signs, to the sleazy street performers, to the smog, to the exclusive producers/sitcom Blitz and Stolas was forced to do, to the water in LA actually being acid. It really felt like it was just an excuse to make all the obvious jokes about LA/Hollywood being bad!

The pacing was bad and the sections with M&M could have been cut entirely, but otherwise it’s a good episode that gives us great character moments and shows us a new side of Stolas that can bite back and do more than make statements so horny they become jokes.

honestly i didnt find the issues you listed to be issues. moxxie and millie were adorable, it was eluded to before that moxxie had a appreciation for the arts and now we've seen it in action. also i find loona kicking blitz in the groin wasn't that out of character, loona is a pretty guarded person, pretty much from the start of series, only barely tolerating critisim and physical affection. but if you pay attention to her face when she hits blitz with the book, you can see her smiling at blitz, meaning she does appreciate blitz in this moment, she just isn't in the mood for a hug.

So for what Loona said. I can say from my experience its true, I grew up in a very poor family in a rough spot of town after the 2008 resection. Most of our issues came from mistakes both of my parents had way before I was born, such as spending money towards the wrong things. Growing up my dad was always busy and had very little time for me and my brother and used to have severe anger issues. but than a few years ago my mom passed away from medical issues. after that my dad took therapy and took strides towards getting better and worked very hard to make our situation better for me and my brother, my dads still not perfect , he is very forgetful and has a hard time reading a situation , but he is trying his best despite everything to be a good dad. TL;DR Loona's advice hits close to home for somebody who grew up in similar situation.

Helluva Boss is basically running on Fan's shipping. Character Shipping makes up most of the fandom. The actual stories are kind of meh. There is a lot of world-building, but no serious plot. This episode was an Octavia X Loona and Blitz(o) X Stolas shipping episode. Stolas showed a human-form which is for the fandom. Loona's human-form also returns. Loona and Blitz(o) were the real focus. Blitz(o) showed he did care about Loona as part of his family, and Loona admitted she appreciated him in return. Shame they didnt do so together but in separate events. But what happened overall in the episode? Nothing. No characters broke up, died, or were confirmed to be in a new relationship. Loona isnt going to drop her edgy relationship with Blitz(o) because thats part of her personality people like. Maybe there should be another Truth Seekers type episode? Show off some combat, see IMP stick together in a bad situation.

I grew to like it after multiple viewings. But I still have problems with it. I felt like this was a perfect opportunity to have a Loona/Octavia episode. Where the episode focuses almost solely on them. Bonding over how Octavia is upset with her dad while Loona never even had parents until Blitzo adopted her. Not just getting a quick conversation near the end. As much as I love the scene where Loona has her big sister moment with Octavia, it didn't feel earned and it was far too brief. I also don't like how it seems Blitzo and Stolas has seemingly mended their relationship in between episodes off screen when the last two episodes where dedicated to how there was a rift forming between them. But I can chalk it up to Octavia going missing so that's a more pressing issue. And there's a glaring inconsistency with how did they get to Earth without the Grimoire? I assume with an Asmodean Crystal as foreshadowed in the previous episode. But it's not even hinted at here.

it is not the worst helluva boss episode or a bad episode but it is a weird quality drop from the 4 bangers episode in a row. We got the Circus which is a great backstory. We got Ozzie which is kind of one of the most perfect episode in anything ever. We got truth seeker on which i didnt like at first but grown to really love and we got Moon festival something i forgot that has striker. All former episode are straight up great to incredible while this one is pretty good but definitely flawed. the pacing is bad but thats genuinely helluva boss most problem anyway. the character development are fine but this is in the second row that i do not care for Loona development while Octavia's here is just an inferior version of Loo Loo Land and my biggest complaint is how they drop the impact of ozzie's so easily. like ozzie establish such a phenomenal drama and while the circus still manage to keep it and makes it interesting. this one just flop a bit and completely ignore it. last thing is this episode actually made me realized that helluva boss is not as funny as i remember. but its still good cuz its helluva boss and helluva boss is always neat.

I agree with Loona's advice, but for me and my dad it's too late. He never cares and is just an a**hole. He never cared. I didnt realized this when I was younger, but I noticed that it was something wrong with my dad. He would be rather at his phone than to play with me. When he played with me it was just for a few rounds and goes to his phone again. Thats the most harmlessed thing he did, there is worse stuff. Loona's advice is good, but its too late in my case.

I'm kinda glad I'm not the only one who thinks the M&Ms didn't need to be part of this episode. I love them dearly, but they unfortunately added almost nothing to the episode aside from adding onto the jokes about LA itself. I also REALLY wish Loona hadn't treated Blitz the way she had this episode, at least not without some context to explain why. Her talk with Octavia shows that she does definitely care about him, but doesn't really know how to handle all of his overwhelming affection properly, and while that makes sense, it...doesn't warrant a violent reaction to him going in for a hug? Like, a side step out of the way would have made sense, but not a full-blown attack like that.

I feel like I’m the only person who doesn’t hate this season. My only gripe with Circus was the characterization of Stella. She’s just a little too outwardly evil. My only real issue with Seeing Stars was how everything is back to the status quo after Ozzie’s. (Something something Season Finale.. Etc.) It also felt like there was a new writer or something. Something overall felt.. Different. Not BAD, just.. Off. Finally, the LA water gag. Boy, that was not conveyed as well as it needed to be for the payoff. Helluva Boss is full of background gags, and I love it for that, but background gags shouldn’t be what defeats a scummy producer. Once again, M&M are sidelined doing unimportant nonsense. (And by M&M I mean Moxxie is doing a thing and Millie is following him.) I’d rather M&M stayed back, and we instead saw Octavia against the world or panicked Stolas.
