Those knots are where the fairies ride them overnight. That’s the legend anyway. My mare gets these in her mane. I don’t cut them out I just untangle them. If you cut them the fairies won’t ride them again ❤

That’s what we say in Sweden as well, quite cute and funny. But it’s most likely from when the horses scratch each other 😁

One of my mares get them with in the next morning of getting her main untwisted. She is the only one out of 4 horses we own that gets the “fairy knots” and I have to groom her and untwist her main on a daily basis! Those fairies 🧚♀️ must really enjoy their rides on our sweet girl

Crazy enough, grooming is one of my favorite things to do. I could groom all day. It so satisfying taking a muddy horse and cleaning it to be so nice and clean (even if only for a day lol)

No, these knots are just natural mats caused by wind and movement, rolling etc. I get them in my own hair if I don't brush it 2x a day when it is down!!! It is a silly urban myth that it is a sign that someone has come into your property, carefully matted your horses mane and will come back to steal the horse later.

Oh and another random question! For your show horses, do you use tail bags to keep their tails so full or just use tail extensions Lol! I know they help keep their tails from getting rubbed and their tails always look so full and healthy!

Oh my goodness!! I would hope no one would ever try to steal your babies! I had never heard of this concept until now. Do you plan on pulling or trimming their mains just to prevent more knots (hopefully just wind) and make grooming easier and quicker? You are by far the best eq rider I’ve ever seen on KZitem and in life! Does having a proper eq horse help with maintaining such a perfect position over fences so it’s easier to equitate to vs a super expressive hunter or jumper for example?

Hi! We do pull them a little bit mostly have let them grow long! Having a more experienced horse definitely makes a huge difference.

I heard of bigfoots messing with horses' manes, there are many bigfoots in Georgia, but your area seems too populated i don't think they will be around there.. scary thought though!

The only time I like wearing a mask is to keep the dirt out of my nose while grooming the mud monsters. Nice you have your parents to help out.

Lots of people wear masks in places where it's really hot and sunny to protect their skin

This might be a really weird question but why are going to clip the horses you don’t ride in shows? I understand clipping the ones you show because of where show and how much you ride and train but if your not riding every day why clip

it’s getting warmer in a lot of places so she might be clipping them to keep them more comfortable even just in their pastures!

Were either of your parents horse people before you started riding?
