1.A little reminder, the Taipei Zoo is built on a hillside. You can take the park shuttle bus at the entrance of the park directly to the highest point. It will be much easier to walk down the mountain from the higher point.😘 2.For those traveling to Taiwan, it may be easier to avoid Sundays and go to night markets after consecutive holidays🤔 3. 18:52 Glad you found your favorite dessert in Taiwan😘

We’re back in Taipei now too! :) I think Raohe is just mentioned in too many TikToks and YT videos so that’s why it’s so popular and busy. My hubs and I lived in Taipei for 3 years during the pandemic and Raohe was always empty. Both a good and bad thing. We really enjoy Ningxia and our local small night market in the Shida neighborhood. My hubs favorite mini pan fried buns and large chicken cutlet are there. Prices are better too. Our favorite pepper bun is close to Taipei Main station as well as our favorite scallion pancake and colorful chicken cutlets from Chiji. If you want a tour or would like any recs, happy to suggest them! We always wanted to film our adventures but it’s so much work. We just want to eat lol! Kudos to you guys. :)

As usual your content and presentation is way ahead of many ! The zoo looked amazing and surprised to see Koala's . In Australia (in Victoria) you can hold them but just watch out for their huge claws and toilet habits. In Dubbo New South Wales at the Western Plains Zoo you could go to the elephant viewing platform and get up close and personal , I copped a blast of hot air thru it's trunk which was rough and spikey. Please note these visits were a long time ago and unsure what is permitted now.

The monkey you met in the wild is the same species as you saw in the Zoo. It's Macaca cyclopis or Formosan macaque, which is the only indigenous primate of Taiwan. The size looks different, probably due to the overly well-fed condition of the zoo animals versus their wild counterparts.

You would have had the opposite experience if you chose to go to Maokong rather than Raohe Night Market after the visit to the zoo. Maokong is a place for enjoying Taiwanese tea, the view and the chill atmosphere. However, since you've tried tea in Jiufen, I think that is okay to skip it, even though the vibe between them is still a little different. Besides, Maokong is more like a place to spend time with friends. It could be relatively less exciting and informative. But I believe you will be back in Taiwan many more times shortly, it is always good to know there are still tons of things that you can explore.
Loved the video, it was so informative! We're heading to Taipei next month. Do you think it's suitable for someone who's recovered from a heart condition? Any insights on which routes to take to make the most of our trip? Appreciate your help, thanks. 🙂

@12:45 Yeah, those are two different sub-species of Formosan Rock Macaque. The ones you saw on the trails are called Formosan Rock Macaque Atheleticas, and the ones in the zoo are called Formosan Rock Macaque Couch-potatus. @21:34 I am glad you've discovered my favorite traditional Taiwanese dessert, the tsōng-guân-ko. It is so labor intensive that very few vendors are willing to sell them anymore.

Panda are usually not very active because of their diet. They are carnivores turned herbivores. Their digestive track are not designed for their favorite food, the bamboo shoots. Even though that is their primary food source, they can derive very low energy from them. So they have to eat a lot of it but still have very low energy so most of the time they just lie around to preserve the little energy they have.
