this is a fascinating discussion. I do not code. I got about halfway through Harvard’s CS50 and realized it just wasn’t for me. I could probably learn but not sure I’d enjoy it. The truth is, I have engineers all over my family. My father was one of the first CTOs for the NSA back in the 60s. My son codes Naval Academy training tools. I am engineer-empathetic. I am adept at TALKING to engineers and actually like them. So they liked me. I also had a basic understanding, because of my general experience in IT and navigating conversations in my family, of what could and could not be done with code. So the dev team LOVE me. I was not the the SM on the team I was one, but was put in the position of always acting as liaison anyway between dev team and the business side and even writing stories for them. They did NOT trust the SM, despite his technical background, and that’s a long story. If you grew up in a family with engineers and their complete opposites (who they tend to marry), you too could be scrum master material.

Your every video has a common theme. Simplicity - the art of maximizing the work not done - is essential. Thanks for educating us in simple terms. Can you please share your opinion on following question - "Is scrum master entry level role"?

It’s very difficult to perform the role of a SM as an entry level role. I’d say no, it is not.

Thank you Raja. As Miguel said, it's not an entry level role. It is a specialized role one that makes sense once you have some experience as a member of some kind of a team.

I've seen Scrum masters hired by service company working at client side are treated inhumane, like do something i don't give a damn you follow agile or not, Big bang delivery is important, create runbooks,.....can you make a video on this?

even big 5 IT companies don't have tech-scrum masters then how still they are able to deliver a solution on time? and what could be the main reason behind the team who's having non tech SM but still can able to deliver things on time.

I feel like a Technical Scrum Master is favored in a situation where there is a lot of tech talks - which in itself perhaps a bad sign that we focus on technical details themselves.
