MG's HS SUV, which was a top ten best-selling car in 2024 and one of the strongest sales performers in 2023 in the company's UK home market, is now poised to once again dazzle customers with a revitalized model line-up.
The all-new HS petrol and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) models, which were unveiled at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in celebration of MG's 100th anniversary, underscore MG's dedication to exceptional value. They also offer a wide range of new features, increased cabin space, and improved styling, all of which are intended to enhance the appeal of this highly sought-after SUV.
MG's reputation for providing customers with the most comprehensive value in the SUV market is upheld by the new iteration of HS models. The petrol HS SE 1.5T is priced at £24,995, while the HS Trophy PHEV, which is the top-of-the-line model, is priced at £33,995. Additionally, the manufacturer's warranty is generously extended to 7 years and 80,000 miles, as is the case with all MGs, and it is backed by a 160-strong dealer network.
The outgoing HS SUV has been immensely popular, according to David Allison, Head of Product and Planning at MG Motor UK. Nevertheless, the new SE and Trophy models surpass the previous models by offering an even greater level of functionality and equipment, a unique MG aesthetic that distinguishes the HS from other SUVs, and a selection of sophisticated petrol and plug-in hybrid powertrains. This robust MG all-rounder is currently enhancing its capabilities.A variety of sophisticated, efficient MG petrol and PHEV powertrains
The new MG HS provides consumers with the option of a petrol or PHEV (plug-in hybrid) powertrain.
The PHEV powertrain, which combines a 154kW electric motor with a 1.5-liter petrol engine rated at 105kW (142ps), provides remarkable propulsion, achieving 0-62mph in a mere 6.8 seconds.
An electric-only driving range of up to 75 miles is achieved by the motor, which is powered by a high-efficiency 67kW generator and a large 24.7kWh battery. Not only does the MG HS distinguish itself from its competitors by enabling them to travel longer distances with zero tailpipe emissions, but it also provides UK company car drivers with a 5% Benefit-in-Kind (BiK) rate and substantial petroleum savings.
The new MG HS is also available with a new-generation 1.5T petrol engine, which is capable of delivering 125kW (169ps) and 275Nm of torque, enabling it to accelerate from 0 to 62mph in 9.4 seconds. A 7-speed DCT automatic transmission is also available, in addition to the standard 6-speed manual transmission.
