I purchased my 42 inch LG C2 OLED around Christmas of 2022. Was eyeing it since it came out & MSRP was $1400. When it went on sale for $999 I knew it was a no brainer, then it went on sale for $799, absolute no brainer. I can say whole heartedly this TV is the best technological buy I’ve ever made. It produces Chrystal clear blacks & does 4k 120 for almost every game with my series X. With a high level of performance for viewing in general, I’d say for the price I got the best bang for my buck. I was coming from a 65 inch Sony x85J, which also does 4k 120, but not like this TV 😍 if you’re in the market for an amazing gaming TV that doubles as an overall great experience while viewing literally anything, if you’re willing to spend the money… BUY THIS TV. I used the CX 48" for two years as a desktop monitor and definitely would have preferred the smaller size, but I had mine at 1m viewing distance with 125% scaling. I also wanted to use the bottom 2/3rds of the screen more where the top ended up being less used except for large code windows. These would be perfect if they could make them just a bit smaller still, like 38".

Nope, the 42inch is more costly to make for them. When they cut 42 inches screen into the motherglass, they hand up with even more waste than with the 48 inch. This is the same reason why the 48 was more expensive than the 55 inch.

@@youssautomata They do not waste glass to make smaller models, the 48 and 42 will be made from the off cuts from larger sizes like the 77" and 83". This means there are less of them so the price isn't reduced otherwise they'd sell out early, 55" and 65" fill out mother glass most efficiently.

I was torn between C2 48” and C2 42”, but eventually went with 42” because it is lighter (9 kg) vs 19kg of 48”. Then I found out about the whole fiasco over EVO panel (WBE vs WBC) which now I regret my purchase. For some reason LG screw up and didn’t update C2 48” so it is essentially last years C1 minus BFI but with slight improvements. The C2 55” is the one with real EVO panel and it is massively lighter weighing at only 12 kg so it can definitely be put on a monitor arm. The only drawback for 55” is it is a bit too large… if only LG put EVO panel in 48” and use C2 design so it only weighs 11 kg then it would be the perfect monitor…. I guess I have to wait til next year’s C3 to find out…

A lot of times I'll use a 2560x1440 window which is 36'' for a lot of my web browsing etc. I just feel like the larger size makes it more versatile. I'm using a solid wood kitchen countertop, which usually comes in at these shorter 65cm depths. If I could find a similar wood top that was deeper and didn't cost an arm and a leg, I'd prefer that.

I was considering the 48 inch last year after watching your videos but decided to wait for the 42 inch which I finally bought 3 weeks ago. I switched from 28 inch 4k 144hz ips display and going oled blew my mind. The image is just so much better and 3d'ish with that deep blacks. Playing games in true oled HDR is huge upgrade, much bigger than lets say ray tracing. I also prefer the mirror like finish than matt finish from regular monitor. Thanks for your informative videos.

Sooo... I thought it was just me... but take a look at the black bars on the right and left side of the screen. The RIGHT SIDE is slightly wider than the left side. Not a big deal.. BUT, it IS a big deal when you have your windows desktop and everything is just very slightly cut off on the left side of the screen. So much so that you end up missing the first letter of your icon names. ANYONE ELSE NOTICE THIS? I have the 48" and it happens on mine. The only way to get rid of it is to use my Nvidia resize option, which can pull the left side of the screen closer, but ends up make the right side even more obvious of being off-center.

HI David, how is this to use for split-screen work? I currrently use a 34" monitor to split screen for WFH. I need two screens showing side by side so that I can have multiple Excel or other programs viewable at all times.

Can you explain more in details how you bring up the service menu by using the magic remote control shown here 1:10 ? I need desperately to set off the auto dimming. It's driving me crazy. Thanks!

Ah someone with the same desktop speakers I'm using... can't beat this setup...I'm taking delivery of the LG tomorrow. I'm going with a VESA stand for more adjustment capabilities.

How does the pixel density compare from the 48" to the 42" LG C2?

The Alienware in my country is basically 2 and half more expensive than the LG C2.. Not way I would buy that thing if LG C2 is basically almost the same thing... I had one Odyssey G9, and the LG C2 is way more better and cheaper ...
