This is my primary retro device. I love it. My only issue is that Anbernic hasn’t had a single update for it since release. The stick issue is a continuous problem and there’s also a Bluetooth delay problem with headphones. They seem more focused on flooding the market with endless reiterations of the same 35xx chipset when they have this powerhouse just sitting there doing very little.

I never really thought about the RG556 much until your video, it seems to me that Ambernic was going for the people who liked the form factor of the Odin 2 that came with a more affordable price point. With that perspective, this device makes more sense to me.

Quality content like yours is great, thank you. The way you present the facts makes it easy to decide if a certain factor also does or does not matter to me, so I can make an informed decision with minimal surprises. Blind spot coverage is so important to me. I agree too that more competition is needed at this price point. As a small islander, most of the things we import means expensive shipping and tariff charges run the price up significantly, so we often end up getting things a generation later sometimes, or have to budget for less powerful devices to account for the additional costs in our overall budget. As for me, you're about a week late haha, I ordered one last week after a week of watching every related KZitem video, including your first review. For me, it's a starter device, it's affordable, and it gives me flexibility at a price point that makes sense in a form factor I appreciate. Ergonomics is important for me, screen size is important to me, performance is important to me in so far as smooth gameplay speed and emulation range (across systems). The only thing I feel like I'll be missing out on are Portmaster and Windows emulation, because I honestly started this quest trying to find a device I can play Don Bradman Cricket 2014 on since my PC crashed. I don't know how it will perform here, but even if it can't run it I'll be fine because of the range I can access in a handheld format up to PS 2 at this price point. I considered the Pocket 4 Pro but the screen looked too small, and the Android 10 of the original Odin Pro made me greatly skeptical. I can live with the tradeoffs here; this should hold me for a few years. When it's served it's useful life, I'll surveil the market again.

I ventured into emulation handhelds with the Anbernic Rg353ps and it covers all the retro stuff up too N64 really really well for the games I wanted too play. Anything beyond that like Ds, 3ds, Wii, Wii u etc I much prefer too homebrew actual consoles and use them as intended, it’s also cost efficient that way. I find a “does it all” console to be a little overkill and a little overwhelming, there’s no way too spend that much time on any one game with such a huge library, however I’m always intrigued by what companies like Anbernic create, just find it interesting😄👍🏼

I just watched a review that said yes, except they were talking about Gamepass, same thing basically. They said it works amazingly well, as long as your wifi connection is healthy
