@@rowinglove4ever I do think that’s a possibility but I’m not all the way convinced it’s necessarily going to happen. It didn’t happen for the E36 M3. I notice that most of the cars that go on to be legendary were pretty legendary at the time - E30 M3 was big at the time, E46 M3 huge at the time, GT350 big at the time, Skyline GTR huge are examples. Meanwhile cars like the Foxbody Mustang and the E92 M3 underperformed and had lukewarm responses in sales and from people generally. The S65 motor was praised at the time… no doubt about that. But time has not been kind to it with rod bearings, throttle actuators, etc. Like the foxbody though, the E92 M3 have a growing following but both movements have one major flaw. Their value is tied to people wanting and expecting them to raise in value. The E92 crowd want so badly to be the modern day “Respect your elders” crowd but respect is earned as opposed to being self designated. And FYI, I absolutely do own a E90 6MT but it’s because I like the car and not because I think it’ll raise in value in some crazy way (which I don’t… for the most part)
@rowinglove4ever

@@tractioncontroldelete The time will pass and we will see! The reason why i m telling that is so simple! The last n/a m3! There will be people that will be willing and pay to get them like gold! @tractioncontroldelete
3 жыл бұрын
@@rowinglove4ever I hope you’re right actually. But the facts are against the E92 getting on that level. Production for the car started in 2007 yet here we are going into 2022 where BMW still produces a Manual M2, M3, and M4. Even the manual F430 hasn’t kept, much less increased, it’s value. The MSRP of that Ferrari brand new was about $217,000-281,000 - in 2021 dollars that would equate to over $276,000 and up to $358,000 just to maintain it’s value. So even that car hasn’t kept its value if you can purchase one for $150k. And as for the N/A thing - well that isn’t necessarily going to pan out either because if that was the case then the V10 M5 would just as well rise in value. Think about it… V10 N/A engine and available with a manual transmission BUT it has not risen, maintained, or even avoided further deflation of its “value” I’m just not seeing it as no metric suggests per capita dollar rising. But again, I hope you are right so I can sell my car and take a nice vacation. Until then, I’ll enjoy it while I’ve got it.
@Vision33r

I don't think it's worth more than $35k, because the F80 M3 is starting to drop in price to this range. While the E9x M3 is very entertaining, it's got reliability issues all over the places. F80 M3s not only performs better but it cost way lower to maintain and modify. The F80 chasis and tech is just amazing compared to E9x. The main reason for the E9x M3 is the v8 and the hydraulic steering rack which gives it a raw feel. But I assure you that driving the F80 M3 will inspire much more confidence.

Rod bearings, throttle actuators, brakes and rotors, wheel speed sensors, tire pressure sensors, tires, fuel pressure sensor, new oil fill cap a couple other sensors and put all the leather care and cleaning and washing supplies because it’s an M3. This was all in the last year and cost almost $9,000. Granted some of these things will hopefully never need to be done again but still a lot of electrical problems this year.
