I am dyslexic. i failed my manual test many times as soon as I went to auto I passed and the test felt so easy. I love driving my auto, its an absolute pleasure ☺
Thank you for this video, have had some very impatient instructors which have made my driving journey stressful and even thought they have been told I have dyslexia so this is really helpful to spread awareness

I know what is left and right, but I sometimes have to think about it when told to turn left or right when walking or driving! I wonder if I have some form of mild dyslexia? 🤔 Good luck to those with it 👍

I failed my test last week, everything was going well, but the examiner told me to pull up to the left, l thought he said to the right, that was a serious fault. I had 10 minutes left. I am dyslexic, was ashamed to mention it to the examiner, my instructor knew about this as l have problems with directions.

You should have mentioned it to him. Why be embarrassed Zara. You were nearly there. Keep trying though and one day you will succeed and pass your own expectations. Good luck!

Great video... I struggle to pass my LGV lorry licence practical test. I felt the directions were very hard to understand and follow I was extremely nervous during my test and I struggle with directions. Is there any exceptions made for dyslexic people?

This is literally where I am atm (also doing my LGV) my instructor said I mite have dyslexia, I researched and can relate. Everything is fine but following signs and being told directions without a satnav are a big downfall so keep messing up. It worries me because of how expensive it is ;(

However, keep in mind that if you do switch to automatic and pass your driving test in an automatic, you can only drive automatic cars. Note: some companies like Mercedes-Benz are slowly getting rid of their manual transmissions.

I’m dyslexic but I’m learning in an automatic car and I’m doing well. Sometimes I can find it hard reading the roads but I only had one major fault in my test yesterday so I’m very happy with that but the thing is that when I’m a bit more older (as I’m 19 rn) I want to see if I can finally manage driving with a manual as it’s very hard to find cars with the automatic part in the car so yeah but like I just wanna see how driving in a manual feels like to see if I will struggle with it or not so that I know whether I should stay with an automatic or not. And also sometimes In the automatic I’m learning in, sometimes I forget which one the gas is and which one the brake is even tho I know cuz sometimes when I need the brake, I hit the gas instead and sometimes when I need the gas I hit the brake and it’s so frustrating cuz I get annoyed with myself but when I do hit the wrong pedal, I realise it very quick

Hi. Thanks for taking the time to share your story. I personally think automatic is the way forward. As petrol car will be banned in 7 years and all electric are automatic - you will do well to stick to automatic Anyway - i wish you the very best of luck

Hello, thank you for this video,it is really helpfull.I am dyslexian girl,i had a really impatient and agressive instructor, always screaming at me and saying agressive curse words. After 10 driving lessons i still strugle with the basics, confuse left with right,it so difficult for me even tho i try so hard to do good. The 10th driving he got so mad that he made me go out of the car and told to change instuctor because he would never again teach me.One thing he doesn't know that i never told him and is my fault i had to let him be aware that i am dyslexian.I actually always had studied hard how to drive, watched videos about how to drive and still struggling with difficulties and it does take me more time because i am dislexian, the instructor never know about that. I actually always feel very uncomfortable to tell people i am dyslexian because others make fun of dyslexian instead of understanding them. That's why i didn't told my instructor even tho i had to.

Hello, You should never feel embarrassed to tell anyone that you are dyslexic. However, some people learn easily and some people do not, driving instructors need to ensure that they have the patience to deal with every situation. I am sorry you were treated that way. I hope you find a good driving instructor who helps you with your needs and helps you learn too.

Do i need to bring a screenshot of that with me or do i need to take it into a garage and get it looked at. My car hasn't had any problems and but i dont know if they want me to bring any evidence that my car is safe to drive or not
