Top notch content upload once again. I rented the a6400 after watching your review and though I love the af, the limited touch functionality is a deal breaker for me. My question is, will the 22mm with the viltrox speed booster be wide enough to vlog and will it bring out the superior image quality of the m6 mk2 sensor. I appreciate the work you put into doing quality work. Salut
@TechGearTalk
4 жыл бұрын
What's up brother! Thanks for all the support! The 22mm won't work with the speed booster for two reasons. 1. It's a mirrorless lens. 2. it's an aps-c lens. The speed booster only works with full frame dslr lenses. Hope that makes sense.

Got it. Ok, so to be totally transparent, I would do my best to never shoot under those conditions. I would always add a source of light (even if it's a tiny LED) because no camera with a kit lens will give you good results. Even with a fast lens (which is what you need for that wide aperture) you'll want a source of light. I mean, I would even go as far as using my iphone flashlight if I needed to to add light. Check out this video: kzitem.info/news/bejne/0mie2Wx4iIaJlWk Since it looks like you're getting serious and growing a channel, is there any chance you could invest is a small light? That will make your life so much easier. If not, you'll want to position yourself next to some outdoor light. The Kit lens is going to be a major hurdle, especially if you can't get a light source. I hope this response makes sense.

Will do Greg! The adapters don't do anything to IQ and AF because they simply push the lenses farther out so that it can focus (there is no glass). The speedbooster is something else because you're adding a glass element between the lens and the sensor

Nice review. Unfortunately in Australia, Canon tend to go for the gouge on pricing with new models: The Canon M50 with kit lens can be had anywhere here, including Amazon for $750. Unfortunately, if you add the EVF to the M6Mk2, it lists at $1460. The Nikon Z50 with lens is $1450 and the Sony a6400 with lens is $1350. So right now and considering the lack of integrated EVF and outrageous pricing, the Canon is not competitive. If Canon put a proper EVF in and dropped the price to $1200, it starts to be competitive.

Excellent review as always , great info. Question would you recommend m6ii for vlogging ? Im wondering how image stabilization is? Coming from a Lumix G85 with Ibis + lens dual stabilization was very good, but couldn't take the auto focus issues any more so looking for new camera. I'm not big fan of side flippy screens and don't use a viewfinder. Considering g7x ii or m6 ii. Any help appreciated.
@TechGearTalk
4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the kind words. The stabilization won't be as good as the IBIS you're used to, but if you use a stabilized lens and add digital IS, it's usable. I even use it without lens IS here: kzitem.info/news/bejne/1oWIumWan5eEY4I I would opt for this oever the g7xii (or iii) because of the added functionality. If you get the 22mm, you can use this gimbal: kzitem.info/news/bejne/tqiBzI6rfouGdm0 and then you're all set on the stability

Hi. At 15:30 you couple the 100mm 2.8L macro with the M6 MKII. Is it too big a lens for that body? It worries me that these two together might be too cumbersome to operate while shooting frogs and snakes with external flashes. Perhaps a DSLR is a better choice? Thanks. Juan

I’m looking to upgrade from the M 50 mark 2. I have both EFM and EF lens. I also starting live-streaming for my church. I was thing of moving up to the RP for high ISO performance but the M6 mark 2 has better focusing. Your opinion ?

In terms of Sharpness and Detail and Dynamic range which one would you recommend me to buy, iPhone 12/13 Pro Max or Canon M6 Mark II? And my second question would be if Canon M6 Mark II can compete with iPhone 12/13 Pro Max in nnight and low light situations? Thanks in advance for your response.

Thank you for this video. Realized the M6 mark II would be worth it for me since atleast I can easily see the audio levels before shootng. That and dual pixel focus in 4k. Now lets hope for some serious rebates on black friday. 😂

Thanks for your reviews. I have a question for you since you have both. Which one you find yourself use more often when you go outside with your family? M50 or M6? Also which lens you use more in a family trip when you have to travel light. Personally, I'm coming from a Canon DSRL and I own several vintage and EF lenses, but now with the kids I find myself avoid to get the DSLR with me because it's too heavy and not practical for a day walk. Thanks in advance!

I take the M6mkii more. If I can only bring one lens, it's probably the kit lens because it's versatile. If I want the smallest and lightest, I go with the 22mm. Check out these few lens videos: kzitem.info/news/bejne/k4BqqZOIfXeYaI4 and kzitem.info/news/bejne/uIp7loyck5qinWk and if you want more info on the sigma trio kzitem.info/news/bejne/1oWIumWan5eEY4I Hope that helps Dimitris

Thanks for the videos, really helps a me. What’s your recommendation for a all-day affordable EF lens (incl. vlogging & livestream) - with speedbooster on a M6 it should be brilliant for every situation even 4K. Or I’m wrong?
@TechGearTalk

Glad you like the video. Quick question, why do you want an EF lens with a speedbooster rather than a EF-M lens? There are great options, but they will make your setup larger. Check out these lenses for EF-M: kzitem.info/news/bejne/1oWIumWan5eEY4I and some great EF lenses: kzitem.info/news/bejne/touG156GrGd6qm0 (I use the sigma 18-35 the most) Hope this helps and welcome to the channel!

Tech Gear Talk I thought with the speed booster the lenses get even better!? Almost full frame with the speed booster and more light as well... if I got it right it makes from f2.8 a 2.0 ... or something like that? Am I wrong?
@TechGearTalk
4 жыл бұрын
You are not wrong, they do widen the angle of view and the amount of light, but you pay for it in terms of size/weight/slight decrease in image quality. So the question is, would you rather have the sigma f/1.4 with a much smaller setup (and a wider aperture), or the full-frame lens at a higher cost. What will you be shooting? That sigma 18-35 or a 24-70 f/2.8 are great options for sure. Hope this discussion is helpful.
