I use the size 1 and 1/0 Mustad hooks to freeline for snook kzitem.infoUgkxzXmlErSqVAEGWFEKO530BvTqFDw53QW3 and they have been fantastic. The points are super sharp, and the hook is small enough to blend with my baitfish, yet large enough to land fish 30" or more. I also use these hooks when I'm pier or surf fishing with my kids. They tend to catch tons of smaller snapper, whiting, and catfish, and we get far fewer gut hooks with these Mustad in-lines, which means more of them survive after release. I was actually using these hooks when I caught my friend too, but I think that had more to do with the bait I was using ;-)

As an apprentice I bought into Milwaukee cause that is what the company I work for supplies and years later as a Journeyman I haven't had a reason to switch. I was always makita, they're still good tools. But milwaukee is what we run in our entire company. I honestly still have the original 2 3.0 batteries I got in our first kit 10 years ago. They still run, charge, and get work done. Makita batteries only past 3-4 years max. That's why we originally tried milwaukee, and since their line up has grown enormously I have never looked back. And the Milwaukees almost always blow the doors off an equal Makita, and milwaukee I has used installing porch railings had heavy rain they all got soaked, I was furious had nothing to loose so I said fuck it and finished the job in the rain last year the tools still run like new honestly. I love makita, Hilti, dewalts ok but the simple truth is milwaukee will out work, out last and out compete any product line.

👍👍👍drawer slide test👍👍👍 I’ve almost bought this M18 vac 3x in the last 2 weeks but my old one still works fine. You’re making it hard not to keep buying stuff. My guess with the Milwaukee hose clip issue is it may be a response to complaints of the old model hose clips being to tight. With mine I don’t even turn to lock it or it’ll never come apart. It just wedge fits, and really works fine that way. I actually specifically chose the m18 over the Dewalt because the attachments were internal. I’m to worried about losing them when they catch on stuff.

One advantage the Milwaukee has is a longer hose that might be convenient on some location. On the other hand the Makita is much more compact. I don't see so much the outside tools as better or worse. It allows for faster grab, but the all inside allows cleaner tool storage with no dripping or dust spreading on way out. So here too, concealed is more bulky, but may be seen as an asset (and I'm sure you can store more shit in there, like a useful piece of rag).

I'd like to see you do a comparison of the Makita xdt14 or 16 vs the gen 3 fuel impact driver. No other reviewers seem to pay as much attention to detail as you do, like how they perform with trigger modulation and control on smaller fasteners etc and ergonomics. Most reviewers are most interested in speed which is really not as important as ability to perform with professional results- ie ability to set screws perfectly, and with consistency..

@@TheFunnyCarpenter I would have to say the 16 is a more even representative to compare with the gen 3. I am glad you see what I mean though. I have heard that the gen 3 doesn't do so well even with 3" deck screws, supposedly because it goes too fast and doesn't start impacting till the screw is almost completely driven- this I would like to see tested. I really do think trigger modulation and control of power is huge and apparently under-appreciated, but thats how we finesse things together and make nice stuff right? I look forward to seeing what you come up with though! I think milwaukee are fantastic tools, just so nobody thinks I'm hating lol

Good video! People laugh at the Dewalt weak suction but it gets the job done efficiently for all the purposes you demonstrated here and spoke of. It’s just about exactly what I use it for. It has all the best features of each of these, only better placed. is built like a tank and can be plugged in. Also fits my hoses and adapters surprisingly well. If you want more power that would sway me you’d have to move up to the hilti. The 2 things I don’t would complain about regarding the Dewalt is the blower/exhaust port placement should be on opposite side and i find myself tipping it while stretching the hole to far So I would say the port being on top would certainly help. This coming from a guy who is looking for an excuse to get the hilti or Makita. Thanks

Naw, he’s one of those people that can actually notice the small stuff. The nozzle being smaller on the Milwaukee is obviated by the large attachment in the water test, so it’s just literally more powerful. That’s born out by battery life. But those little subtleties on the Makita add up day to day, glad he mentioned them all. It’s the danger of our modern “everything is a commodity” culture, where you just buy the one with the most power, and ignore literally anything else.

I already have a bunch of Milwaukee batteries, so that is certainly a factor. However, to me the Makita just looks so much more compact compared to the Milwaukee that seems kind of bulky? I just want something out in the garage to do quick touch-ups on my cars without having to break out my big 16-gallon vac all the time. Full disclosure, I have the Milwaukee pac out vac on order. I would say some additional advantages for the Milwaukee is it will accept their 8, 9 and 12ah battery for longer runtime AND It can take advantage of the HO batteries with better performance from what I’ve seen. The hose clips do worry me but I have an idea for that. As far as the tool storage, that doesn’t bother me, I prefer them to be tucked away inside. Finally, the Milwaukee has fine filter bags you can use as a pre filter. Does the Makita have that option do you know?

I've looked for filter bags for the Makita and can find any. From some thing I've read putting bags on this type of vacuum can hurt the suction power. When needed two for water so I could empty one while the other keeps the running water away from wooden floor 🤣 Also, runtime with the new bag? At the end of the day it's more about which battery platform you are already on, most of us try to stay on one platform. Ps: I found your tests sloppy, gotta make sure you have clean new filters for both. I stoped watching after the first test. I know you do this for fun, no hard feelings. Ciao

These feelings seem hard:(. At the end of the day people like checking things out and seeing what their options are. People leave platforms, all the time to see if the grass is greener. Guys like me roll 4 battery platforms because I love tools and the making of the Utube videos. Decent point on the testing, thank you.

The Milwaukee beats the makita just by being pack out capable

The milwaukee is stronger so that makes it better period. As for build quality if the milwaukee is built like the rest of there packout containers than hands down it will be the toughest. The guy seemed like a Makita fan boy

So much more to a tool than power. The M18 Packet Vac is a great tool, I happen to prefer the Makita slightly. That may change as I use the tool more. Cheers- thanks for checking out the channel.

This is a makita channel hence the makita homerisn. It's apples to oranges. Get the Milwaukee fuel regular vacuum as that would be apples to apples. Maybe the Milwaukee was quicker. This means more airflow better battery. Better airflow and battery? The makita batteries are Jenky plastic and break alot sooner. Unbiased anything the Milwaukee does better is debatable. Just stop the build quality until you test the makita vs the milwakee fuel. The Milwaukee build quality is better but that's debatable. Atleast your son is unbiased and that's not debatable.

When it comes to the vacuums the milwaukee looked quite a bit faster and more powerful. Heck, throw a 12.0 in it and with the collection bin capacity you could empty on Fridays and charge the battery over the weekend. Plus the Milwaukee looks like a sexy sports car. That Makita is UGLY!
@dennisyue2627

Hate to say it but agreed the Makita is ugly. Basically the Milwaukee has better performance but he “prefers” the Makita due to build quality, exterior tool access, and existing Makita battery/ecosystem. If someone had a full Packout system it’d be quite an obvious choice. Both seem to be pretty decent and as a Makita guy I ended up getting the Milwaukee fuel vacuum. Should be delivered today.

@@TheFunnyCarpenter I just picked a super portable, super light weight and very easy to transport Festool CT48 AC HEPA from Lee Valley here in Calgary last month. My vacuum budget is very much blown (sucked?) for the year. Also I think the people at Milwaukee had to have been smoking crack to not have made it AC/cordless like the Dewalt DCV581H. I guess manufactures are too busy trying to shill their $300 XC6.9HO Red Valium eXtreme batteries these days. Maybe they will come up with a full packout width vacuum that’s actually more useful for dust extraction.

@@TheFunnyCarpenter I like it! I have the planex drywall sander, track saw and I hammer drill a lot at work so the auto clean function is really nice. Seems like a nice unit so far. I’ve only had it for a month and I’m not a cabinet maker so it probably doesn’t get worked quite as hard as people who rip MDF all day. So far I really like it. The suction hasn’t dropped at all and the bag is almost completely full. It’s my first Festool vacuum and I have no regrets. The fact that it’s a $1250 vacuum cleaner and it doesn’t come with a cleaning wand is pretty stupid but I knew that going into it. That is something only the Germans could get away with...

Awesome that your tools that you review are actually used on real jobs. Also in regards to the Milwaukee packout vac and the lid storage. I agree with you I don't want anything locked up with a lid. Which is why I don't use/like packout or tough system, it's convenience mixed with inconvenience 👎 great review bro 👍

Agree with your comment about the lid; but I’d go further. If you have one of the smaller accessory kits mounted to the top of the vacuum; it makes it that much harder to access the vac tools. That said the pack out system is still a great concept; just with the vacuum I don’t see it being all that use full for the lid to have that capability. Just make the vacuum so it’s only configured to be on the top of the stack.

I love the Makita vac, although it took me two tries to buy it. First attempt I was ripped off by a scam company (I wanna say it was mercari?). Online scammed! Yay! Second attempt was successful (home depot). Anyhoo....haven't tried the red one. Super happy with blue one.
