I’ve got more than 200 omnis and as long as they keep releasing omnibus titles I’m interested in, I’m still buying, even though I’ve ground my statue buying to almost a halt. Aside from the differences with prices and resellability, books are more fun to collect since you get active enjoyment out of reading them whereas statues just sit there and look pretty.

I'm still into it, but i have been buying less and reselling more in the last year. I've also realized in a nicebreaction video to get me to easily pick up a series without much ado, have a reading magazine style display shelf so you van enjoy single covers esp for limited series, and tucked in reasonable standard vinyl covered white backboarded singles!

When the whole gimmick is to have these diverse character put down existing characters and artificially prop themselves up that’s the problem. It shows insecurity and a lack of confidence. Because at the end of the day it’s WHO a character is not WHAT they are. It’s why I can say Storm is my favorite X men whereas I love Doctor Strange. I’m not white but Strange for who he is and what drives him to be a hero is what makes him great. Same with Storm.

@@luciusblackwood2640 I think Marvel Comics should do movies about Marvel Comics. The more comic accurate, the better. - Don't be changing male characters female. - Don't be changing female characters male. - Don't make the central focus of a character their sexual orientation. - Don't race change (color). - Don't virtue signal. Instead, make everything original and interesting. Make comics great again. In my opinion, focusing on a character's sexual orientation is pointless. Fans like myself have zero interest in that. For me, to hear storylines like how Ice-Man, Colossus, Morph, Loki and others are now gay and making that abundantly clear by shoving that down our throats, is an utter joke to me and I personally don't consider those comics canon. I mean, can you imagine what's next? Imagine Disney's Marvel says, "okay, we're going to make Frank Castle gay." It's crazy in my opinion. Last I heard, rumor has it that Disney's Marvel is going to make Silver Surfer a female. I have nothing against women. I actually love women. FOMO def drove the market for awhile, and now people are being more conscious about that they buy. Plus times are rough and money can be tight right now so so that is def hindering the market too. That being said the only omnibus I really buy are the Uncanny X-men Volumes and Wolverine. I'll get the new volumes of both and have reading through them very slowly in between weekly new comics and manga. I'll get an occasional extra omnibus if it's for an absolute steal and also something I like. I picked up a New Avengers Omnibus from an indoor market for 40 bucks, stuff like that. dc compendiums have been good to me made me realize i don't really care for oversized art for most comics and i like the cheaper price

The omnibus i feel like are cool trophy items to have on your shelf. but for the practicality of reading them, they're so big and heavy and hard to comfortably read, which is mostly why i switch to epic collections.

I’ve done the same thing with manga, I’ve bought 1,500 volumes in the last year & half and I’m doing my best to get through them. It’s going to take me a long time.

The problem about statues is shipping them. They have risk of coming out broken. I received broken statues that had bubble wraps before. Books are soo much easier to ship and cheaper to ship.

Yes but I have a lot of omnis and other collected editions that I have to read and I've more or less run out of space for statues. At the moment I'm more into artbooks than comics or statues, I just received 10 artbooks this week and they all look absolutely gorgeous. Nice to try out something else, just collecting one thing gets boring after a while.

Been scooping up the Sandman absolutes, Spawn Origins, and anything Darkhorse releases that catches my eye. I have all of the deluxe manga releases and a lot of their library edition books. There is a book outlet warehouse I check every few weeks, and I've actually found quite a few Marvel and DC omnibus there for 75% off sticker price.

Hey bro! I'm from Brazil and I've been following your channel for a while, I love your content. The omnibus thing started here in 2020 and despite being quite expensive, they are doing very well. For now I have the John Byrne's Fantastic Four and She-Hulk, I also started picking up Peter David's Hulk, they were great experiences.

I definitely buy at a faster rate than I can read them. For the first year, two years I wasn’t doing much reading, just collecting. But the bigger the collection got, the more buried I felt in reading material. So now I buy them a bit more steadily and try to read at least an issue or two everyday from my omnis. Almost done with Lee & Ditko Spidey vol 1! Great silver age stuff

I started collecting omnis mid last year. I have 15 but read them all, my rule is: buy-wait delivery-read-put on the shelf and start again. And I throw trades and standard size hardcovers in between. So I've read everything that's on my collection.

Been there, done that. Sadly after some time you'll crack like we all did. First 1 omni then 10. And the pile keeps getting bigger.

I had NO idea that Omnis got valuable. I honestly thought that values were reserved for floppies. I returned to comic collecting about 3yrs ago and so much has changed since 1992 it was a little overwhelming. It just so happens that I purchased 2 Omnis, SiKtC because I can’t purchase the first 12 floppies right now and Bitter Root. I suspect that Bitter Root may go up in value but not SiKtC. There were quite a few variants for that one.

I have quite a few omni's and like others here, I will read them eventually. I too collected all the Marvel Conan stuff, (except King Conan) but that stuff came out too fast to recover financially. Glad I have them tough as Titan won't be reprinting the What if? stuff with Marvel characters crossing over. Also the Savage Avengers isn't likely to be reprinted unless Marvel gets the rights back to Conan. I have learned that I prefer the Epic Collection books when it comes to reading. Sometimes it's hard to get an 800 page book open enough to see all the art/read captions close to the center of the spine. I treat my omnibus like heirlooms, unfortunately I have no to pass them on to that appreciates comics art like I do. I do like statues, but have only own one. A Randy Bowen Death Dealer from the late 90's. As a Molly Hatchet fan, that stays with me!

I got around 30 omnis and will continue to collect them, a bit ashamed that I've only read about 5 so far. But hey the plan is to have them for the rest of my life, so fingers crossed I'll have enough time for that ^^'

To quote *Dirty Harry Magnum Force,* "a man's got to know his limitations." My limit is around 50. After reading cover to cover, I donate it to the library (Certain that somebody was elated to see "Avengers Vol. 1" by Hickman suddenly appear on a library shelf). I've recently bought Vol. 2 and so far, another good read.

With a diminishing space, I bought a Spawn Compendium #1, I still need new boxes/bookshelves. But an agent Venom modern Epic collection (vol. 5) looked good. Tho with the Spawn Compendium, Doctor strange by Mark Waid, and Something Is Killing the Children #1 + Singles I had over $200 total. But the Mark WAid Collection follows an Donny Cates collection I had just bought the previous week. Lucky surprise? I dunno. But yeah, tough to keep up with reading! I think Epic collections or high quality paging. But you need to buy whats fun for you! (and what fits!)

If Manga was smart they really should do Omnibus but with color. They would make a fortune. Marvel and DC is losing the long game because the kids are not as interested.

I wonder why they don’t do it for collected editions, like you said. I get why they don’t on their initial releases. They could even sell both versions and really put the nail in the coffin lol

I've read every TMNT IDW collection & both Compendiums, 13 of 39 Judge Dredd Case Files, and every Alien & Predator omni so far. However, I also bought every Conan omni including the main series, Savage Sword, the one DH one, and King Conan and haven't read any of them so far. That's nearly 2 full shelves worth of Conan but I know when I delve in I'm gonna go hard.

I bought my first omni about 2 years ago, but unfortunately didn't really enjoy the story and that stopped me in my tracks. With the X-Men 97 coming out and really enjoying the series, I thought I'd give omnis, (and comics in general), another try and after some reserach went for The Uncanny X-Men volume 1, which I'm glad to say I'm really enjoying so far, and also bought Miracle Man which I hadn't even heard of, but thought it sounded really interesting after watching your video on it. Hoping if I enjoy these two, it might propel me into the hobby and exploring comics more.

I don't know if the hobby is dying as for me I only buy what I like and not because I just saw a comic book movie and want the full story that I'll throw $100 dollars on a big ass book, that's ridiculous and when are going to find the time to read them, get real! I know you review the books but I see all those bookshelves behind you are you telling me that you like every single storyline in them? What I suggest for new readers is try out the smaller TPB's first before buying an Omnibus and don't just do a spur of the moment buy.
