@lifestooshortforboringcars

We ran the wire down the right side of the windshield, attaching it with adhesive strips. From there, under the cowling and into the cabin though the fire wall to a switch. I put the switch in the fuse box area so I wouldn't have to dedicate a permanent Porsche switch, but I will probably do that if the car doesn't sell.

For the last 13 years I have driven my 911 4S (daily driver) a few times a year to Northern Canada. Conditions can get very challenging (-40C, with whiteouts and lots of snow and ice on the roads). With proper tires (don't use the often suggested Pirellis ...), the stock car is capable of getting us there year after year, even in the worst of storms. What a great car ... giving us unforgettable experiences week after week, year after year, and hopefully decade after decade. :)

IMO the GRC is a great fast car & slightly more practical for a road trips with a real sleeping platform. FYI - I traveled a with my 993 & 07 GT3 so I now know more of what I like and want👍 I have yet to drive the GRC in light snow - but can't wait. I swapped the Pilot sports with some Ultra high performance all season tires (Continental Extreme Contact DWS06 Plus) in a talerl & narrower configuration than stock. With these I will have a little better chance of negotiating light snow (which was my intention-:)

Wow, love this car! I live in northern NV near Lake Tahoe and this car would be a perfect all season fun car for up here. I would still keep my Jeep though. The reason people drive SUV's is because they have real four wheel drive, they have more ground clearance so you're not plowing in deep snow, they have way more interior room and the cost of ownership is way lower. No IMS, RMS, AOS, bore scoring, and other catastrophic failures. Can't beat a Porsche for driving fun though. Great video but too quick jumping from one scene to another for these old eyes to keep up. Would have liked to see more detail on adding the rack and other stuff. Great video except for the part where you belittle the car at the beginning. Sadly, so many other KZitemr's out there are doing this. It really is disconcerting when so many people (including Porsche owners and Porsche club people!) so freely do this without a thought given to owners like myself that own 996's. I happen to also have an 02 C4S much like yours. Same color but metropol interior color. People do it even to my face. It is unbelievable. Think of it this way: What is being done is akin to going to someone's house and telling them about how horrible their house is. Even more disconcerting is when even Porsche has joined in the trashing of their own creation. I was thinking about this the other day and it occurred to me they might have done it in response to so many privileged and self entitled Porsche owners out there; sort of like a mea culpa, saying: "we promise we will never hurt your beloved brand so please, please keep on buying our cars." I happen to love all Porsche models and - yeah - some not so much. But I don't go around telling people to their faces that their car is not a "real Porsche" . Or that your model is good enough to sort of trash and take it out in the snow and off-road because is cheaper (wonder why) and well inferior to the 997 that you show. All of this starting because of headlights, really? Unbelievable. Good luck with your future content creations and hope that your next one about 996's is more positive and that it leverages your empathy coefficient a bit more.

Hey @ andresjordan3133, thanks for the comment; you may have missed the underlying tone of that segment. I actually love the 996 and have had a bunch over the years. The 996 C4S is the Porsche that I recommend for the single-car mission for Colorado, hence why we chose it for this video. One of my favorite 996s is an early Aerokit car, and I would argue that the 996 GT3 is the most GT3 of them all. It's the smallest and lightest, and all you got was ABS and talent- good luck! If the film didn't leave you with a message of love for the 996, you can rest assured we have nothing but love for the 996!

@@wiegraf9009 It is a great car. As my mechanic says, it is the last analogish porsche out there. It is also one of the lightest and the one with the lowest drag coefficient, as I understand it. Also, I think, as many do as well, it has the best-rear end out there (C4S). Yes, it had problems and yes, it used some cheapish plastic parts. IAC, it has been hard for me to wrap my head around how entitled people are to trash other's ride. All I can do, is try to counter that negativity with positivity. Btw, the reason Porsche created those headlights, was to save cost by bundling all lighting requirements into one plug-play casing. It was a cost saving move at a time when Porsche was on the ropes financially. Wonder if those trashing it, know that fact.
