Riding in the back of pick up trucks with no sun screen on smoking a cigarette . Lol. Now I can not wash my car in my driveway. Bylaws will give me a ticket. Can't park my boat in my driveway. And it's not like the places renting for a few hundred dollars a month are in the slums either. The neighborhoods are safe. I did find a place to play here recently but they found another use for the space so the handball stint was short-lived. Would love to have a court built here if I could find the space and some help setting it up. After the Achilles tendon tear, I could never run the same again so my game has sorely waned. @@onedirection3510 hahaha...you remember me well. I still hate missing a shot or a step but I've mellowed dramatically over the years, partly because of the loss of my physical abilities. I don't know if you noticed but my inferior replacement to handball has been DDR. You can see me playing with my daughter in the video. I started just before my 50th birthday and can still play expert level songs into my 60's. It's fun because I can do it with the kids and my daughter can almost keep up with me now having played together since she was three. As for Ray, he did have a chance to move here to PI but he believes he has a great setup in NYC with his dirt cheap rent controlled apartment in a Hi-Rise renovated building just off CPW. His rent is actually cheaper there than mine here and if he moved here he would have to give up some of his income. Plus he wouldn't have free health care here. He almost died of an undetected heart issue a couple of years ago. He passed out but they managed to get him to the hospital and operated on him to save his life. I think he fears being away from the medical system there that he's relied on so heavily. I need to give him a call one of these days. Living in PI certainly is not for everyone but it works out well for me. I went through some crazy legal shit in NYC starting in 2013 and got first-hand experience with an out-of-control corrupt and dishonest political and judicial environment. It really stressed me out and turned me off completely to the City I thought I would never leave. PI gives me a reprieve from that and more.

Hi Garrett, We're always open to meeting new people so no problems about getting together. The blue e-trike runs around 60k pesos with an upgraded battery. They're easy to get and have become very popular given the current lack of enforcement on e-vehicle regulations. Don't know how it would be once the enforcement practices change. At the current moment there are quite a few 1 story flats that meet your requirement except for the pool, which is a nice therapeutic amenity for aging athletes. The cost here in Angeles seems to run in the 20k and up range without the pool. Once you get away from Angeles though, it could get a lot cheaper. We just like the convenience of being here and we have some anchors here as well. I think if you like swimming, living in a beach town might be better. Dumaguete is nice though I didn't find much great swimming out there even though it's right on the water. Getting an Ooma is as simple as ordering online at ooma.com. You connect to the internet by wiring an ethernet cable to your router and then a standard phone wire to your phone. Congratulations on overcoming such adversity with your heart issues. Take good care of yourself and God bless.

If you're looking for the "freedom" to drive or build however you want, the Phils is the place for you. People truly aren't free unless they can express themselves as they want, within reason of course. In the Phils, there is no right to free expression or speech; in fact, they have criminal libel laws which includes internet postings. In fact, there is a proposed law right now to criminalize ghosting which is basically making people feel bad. Foreigners, particularly those who live in the Phils or have businesses there, have to watch what they say to Filipinos in general because the general population is aware of these types of laws and have no qualms about attempting to get foreigners deported and blacklisted for injuring their tender sensibilities.
