Just throwing this out there. You guys make great videos. A lot have solely helped me get through becoming a home brewer and ive fully invested in it since day one. One things I wish you guys would do is make a video where you make a BIG beer and are forced to use dme or some extracts, like a 10-11% stout or something. I use a different system and anytime I try big beers my efficient is under 60 and just sucks. I give my word, if you guys can make this video happen, I'll buy the 20g system the same day lol

Great vids. One question I have about this system in general is that you don't actually sparge, correct? I'm assuming the constant recirculation via the pump during the mash sort of does that?
@ClawhammerSupply
4 жыл бұрын
Kurt- Correct we don't sparge-- we design all of our recipes to account for the lack of sparge. The recirculation helps quite a bit as well as keeps the grain-bed temp consistent.

Why don’t y’all put star san in a spray bottle and spray down all your equipment? I’ve been doing that for 3 years and have never had an infection. You also save a lot of star san and water. Love your videos!!
@ClawhammerSupply
4 жыл бұрын
Maybe you missed something, or maybe i'm missing something. We hit all fermentation equipment with starsan before adding wort. Anything else that needs sanitized and is not easily treated with starsan gets a heat treatment. It's a lot quicker and easier that way.

Hey Claw - Can you please give a little detail how much yeast did you add total and how long did you let it fermit up at what tempature until you kegged it. Thanks!
@ClawhammerSupply
4 жыл бұрын
We added 2 packages of Cali yeast by cellar science, fermented at 66F for 10 days, cold crashed for 48 hours at 34F, then kegged. I will say, though, that this yeast did not flocculate as well as we would have liked, so perhaps use San Diego Super (WLP 090) or something like that for a (potentially) clearer beer.

These "special effects" and constant change of story line are so distracting and unnecessary... it is as if a 12 year old edited this. Good grief! What happened to your videos, they used to be so straight to the point, informative and educational. This mish-mash of story lines and thoughts is unbearable.
