As a Brit, our style of motorcycle is vastly different, due to our narrow winding roads, small villages and towns and they seem to age very quickly, you can tell the period of them by the ordination of the handlebars footrest and levers But the Knucklehead just look so modern, in fact it looks better than many modern Harleys and unlike our old bikes you could ride the Knuckle far and fast having the prices go so high, also means machines will be found and restored, rather than rotting away or being scrapped I felt you emotion when your fathers motorcycle came up, thats a special bond that will never be broken

@NBSV1
Жыл бұрын
Most people don’t want to pay the price for something that is going to still ride and operate like an old bike. For that price people want modern features and performance. Especially since they’d be low production numbers which would make the price even higher.

@@NBSV1 True, but i don't need a freaking stereo and massive fairing on my bike. At some point, just get a car.
@arthurwachnik8700

That is puzzling considering how well Triumph and others have done with modern retros. You would think there would be a huge market for modern retro Harley's that look like that.
@NBSV1
Жыл бұрын
@@arthurwachnik8700 That's just making a modern bike look old. In a lot of ways Harley has been doing that for a long time already. To the average person the only difference in a new Harley and a 40 year old Harley would be the LED lights and the fancy dash. People talk about wanting an actual old bike that's just newly built. But, it would end up costing a lot because you would have to produce the parts unless you're going to just build a modern bike that kinda looks old. Which in the end only somewhat works. Much of the charm in the old bikes is their simplicity and how they function. If you use modern stuff it would mostly ride like a modern bike. Not really a terrible thing, but also not what I think people are asking for.

If you love motorcycles because you want to ride them expensive bikes don't make sense. There are so many great machines that can be had for several thousand dollars or less it makes no sense to drop $30k+ on a bike. I would say that's where the more money than brains zone begins.

Upgraded, and unleaded capatable, valve seats, valve guides, and valves, are all that's required for a correct upgrade for modern fuel. All typical of a correct rebuild of a vintage engine, regardless of it being a race build or a everyday rider. I do several a year.
