Good one. In the name of Active features Auto manufacturers are only interested in jacking up prices and insulting the intelligence of the good ol person behind the wheel. I don’t know anyone who uses the factory sat nav in any car. Everyone wants to use Google Maps and the likes and if you have apple car play, that solves the problem. It’s definitely a good car and offers good value. The power is a relative thing and will vastly depend on where it’s being driven and regional dynamics. I personally think that Mahindra is testing the waters in Australia and getting people to accept the car, it’s reliability and comfort before bringing in the big guns.
@aussiefarmer6012

I think it's a great value and well built car for couples, singles and small families. What is the average sized family? It isn't 4 or more people. MOST people don't want a 6 or 7 seat car. The HVAC looks simple and easy to use while driving on rough roads, isn't that the way it should be in a 4x4? Not having to use a touch screen and multiple menus to change the temp! I disagree with you on that. I don't like reviewers using the terms; surprisingly, actually and quite and I bet I am not alone in this. How does everyone else feel about this? These terms are condescending and kept only for the smaller and cheaper brands. Have a think about this because it is unnecessary and very annoying. This car is a good car by the look of it and not just for the price. It is a proper compact 4x4 and that comes with packaging compromises. Most people turn that active safety or computer warning safety off. How it brakes, visibility and actually crashes is far more important than if it has a light in the mirror to tell you what you can see in the mirror anyway. I think you have been far too harsh on this vehicle as you said you wouldn't recommend it. Not every new car buyer has kids, or kids at home anymore. You essentially only reviewed this car for one demographic and that is a shame. The car wasn't designed to be purchased by large families.

Scorpio is for the people who are looking for a tough body on frame SUV, I feel they should’ve offered the XUV700 in Australia because it offers all the “missing safety features” pointed out here in the review plus it has autonomous driving capabilities, better interiors, performance and driving manners than most of its competitors like the Toyota Fortuner and here in India it’s comes at less than half the price of those cars.

To be honest, I think it's refreshing to see a vehicle that does NOT have all those useless features, like lane departure, blind spot monitoring, GPS, etc. I never use them, and they only add to the cost of the vehicle, meaning I’m paying for stuff I never use! For GPS, well, I use my smartphone, so why double up? I think it's a very attractive looking vehicle, although strikes me more like medium, rather than large… Again, a valid point mentioned by others here is that not everyone has 2.3 kids and a dog! I would hope that the last seat is removable, as I would never ever use it and would rather have the boot space. 2 captain chairs is unusual, but not a showstopper for me either. It has a very generous warranty, road side assist package, etc. but so very few dealers is a concern, especially since I live in a regional area of the state. Oh, and finally, I just love that deep green forest colour.

They learnt alot by owning ssangyong. But still alot to improve but it will come with higher cost. Buying without safety technology is insane in my opinion.

Mahindra didn't learn anything from that failed company dude, Mahindra is much better than Ssang Yyong.

My first few cars had drum brakes, conventional tyres, no power brakes or steering, Oh shit, no rear cross traffic warning or radar cruise? Might have to watch my mirrors and ahead of me while driving. Sounds risky.

Slightly disagree with this comment. The car DOES come with safety feature, just not the ones like lane assist etc that in themselves are not perfect. Lane assist has probable caused more accidents than saved.

So anything affordable is cheap? This is not for you really. You are better with BMW or Mercedes or Toyota.

Can't believe it has only 1 small bottle holder. Even my small Hyundai Venue which is the worst car I've bought till now has 6 bottle holders. Don't know how Mahindra didn't manage to find more space for bottle holders. This is a let down.
