I put one behind my back seat back in my 2016 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab. I agree with his assessment that the Kicker Hideaway is best described as like a "stock" or "factory" sub woofer would be. It will not tell the neighbors that you have arrived home but it puts plenty of bass inside your vehicle that was missing before.

The kicker actually has the better range. The JBL has 35hz-120hz at 125 Watts whereas the Kicker is 25hz-120hz at 150 Watts.

Thanks for posting. I just got this, wanted to mount it under the front seat in '13 Honda fit but didn't fit lol. Had to go in the trunk but the seats can still fold down all different ways, still have plenty of trunk space and it hits pretty hard and clean for what it is. I recommend 👍

looks like you used both the straps and the screw in mounting feet. It's designed to use one or the other, you don't need to use both, but when mounted to plastic it probably helps with reducing rattle. Your gain is set to high, the xover is set to high. Since you said you have the headunit set to negative bass, you're better off using the bass boost on the sub instead of having the gain so high.

The phase switch is in case you wired it backwards. If you have a speaker out of phase, it will cancel out the soundwaves and give you a massive headache. And sound awful.

At 6'3" tall, there's no way I could mount that sub behind my seat! I have to have the seat all the way back all of the time. If you really dive into a 2006 Miata, you will find that there's a big plastic spacer under the carpet, in the very front of the passengers side floor. It's to give passengers an "end" so their feet have something to rest on. If you take that spacer out, which is very simple, that's a perfect place to mount this sub. Yes, it does take up a small amount of the passengers side foot room. But, I rarely have a passenger, and when I do, the foot room works out just fine! My brother's 6'2" tall and has no problem being a passenger. Another plus, the bass response is reinforced by the almost hole you are putting it in, and it allows for the bass wave to expand a little bit...travel a bit, as that is the farther=st away from the drivers head you can get the sub. So, in the very front of the passengers side foot area, you get quite a bit of extra travel for the bass wave, so it sounds better, HAS NONE OF THE RATTLES this reviewer had, and is easy to mount with the included straps. For a more hidden look, I wrapped the sub with some black burlap type of thick weave speaker cloth. Very durable, so people can rest their feet on the sub, but it still looks good and makes the sub completely disappear into the interior. I think it is a much, much better placement option than this reviewer used. Especially because I couldn't begin to even use that space he used. And, you are always gonna have some rattles mounting to plastic, which I couldn't stand even the slightest of. I do highly suggest this sub in a Miata, as it does give a good amount of deep bass to a car that other wise wouldn't be able to have a subwoofer.

Dude, that sounds pretty damn Good on my end. Might consider getting one. I have a 2012 Genesis sedan with a stock 8 inch sub that has dual 4 ohm voice could but the stock amp only gives them 25 watts RMS at best after using a multimeter and some sound test. Looks like something I can easily mount in the same spot but underneath and get a bit more bass out of it. Thanks for the video, most people who have reviewed this sub, haven't done a sound test like you did. Thanks. Man. 😎👊

The base controller uses a 3.5mm mini jack stereo cable so a 3.5 mm mini jack stereo cable Y splitter and 2 more 3.5mm mini jack stereo cables will work. It should only be a knob controlled adjustable resistor.

Definitely something that people tend to forget to tell others. Running the sub woofer on low settings for a few hours will help break in the rubber on the cone and the voice coil. Going full blast off the bat tends to fry the voice coils sooner if not within the first day of using it. It also tends to sound cleaner this way.

I know this is a year old post but for anybody seeing this the future. JKU can fit under the front seats no problem a 2 door JK can fit under the passenger seat if you cut the rear crossbar and move the passenger sensor over. Reason for this the JKU doesnt have sliding front seats the 2 door does. The slide mechanism forces you to mount this higher into the seat brackets. So yes can be done but no it's not a quick throw in and plug in all the wires project
