I meant to add this when the video was posted. Whoops! I wanted to add a very interesting tidbit that didn’t make it into the final cut of this video (because it got quite a bit off-topic) in this comment. The name of the beer references (allegedly or directly) several things. First, it references and shares the name of an actual river in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Second, it sort of references an Ernest Hemingway short story, The Big Two-Hearted River, which itself is a reference to the same river in name only; the short story is actually talking about a different river. Third, some have said the beer references the “two hearts” of the beer: a love of IPA rooted in a traditional English background and a love of American hops, which are very distinct from their continental kin and offer a much different experience than English hops. I think that’s probably just whimsy rather than a conscious decision to name the beer that. Fourth, likely without realizing it, the trout featured on the artwork actually has two hearts, which is something I was going to go into some detail about, but like I said, it didn't make the final cut. Also, some sources, additional attribution and other info. www.homebrewersassociation.org/homebrew-recipe/bells-two-hearted-ale-clone/ www.crain.com/?portfolio=larry-bell bellsbeer.com/news/a-letter-from-larry-bell-to-kalamazoo/ www.freep.com/story/money/business/2017/03/28/bells-brewery-beer-craft/99725946/ www.freep.com/story/entertainment/nightlife/2021/11/10/bells-brewery-sale-lion-new-belgium-brewing/6360446001/ www.kpl.gov/local-history/kalamazoo-history/business/breweries-of-early-kalamazoo/ www.breweryhistory.com/journal/archive/163/Kalamazoo.pdf www.legislature.mi.gov/documents/1991-1992/billintroduced/Senate/pdf/1991-SIB-0259.pdf www.legislature.mi.gov/documents/1991-1992/billanalysis/House/pdf/1991-HLA-5407-A.pdf www.legislature.mi.gov/documents/1991-1992/billanalysis/House/pdf/1991-HLA-5407-B.pdf Thanks for reading and watching. Bell's Two Hearted is what I call my "reference IPA. It's the IPA that I compare all others to. Oberon is another good brew from Bell's. My go-to lager is Point Special from the Stevens Point Brewery in Central Wisconsin. Living in Wisconsin, I'm fortunate in having access to a lot of good local and regional craft beers.

I don't even drink anymore, but this is such a good IPA that's a standard offer from them.
