I bought my LSiM 707 mainly for music long before Legend came out. Once L800 came out, I moved mine to my family room home theater. I moved to a new house and now using them in a dedicated home theater!

What Jay says about the feeling of spatiality, clarity and being able to listen at higher volumes without feeling any discomfort is absolutely true, I have experienced it in my home theater. Those recommendations and acoustic design by Anthony Grimani really work very well. Thank you for Sharing

@@scarridale Yes. Mimicking his design but also worked with Aaron Antunes from AZ Tuning and the Screening Room AV to finalize the AG design. They are the folks that encouraged me to study the Grimani design. By the way, AZ Tuning did all of my room tuning as well, from the MiniDSP to the full Dirac Live! setup - all 11 channels plus subwoofer.

Fantastic home theater, Jay! You might want to consider six seats instead of eight, to give you more room on the sides and have a center-aligned main listening postion, but I understand wanting to keep them if you need the extra seating. Michael, you covered all the bases here, perfect interview... looking forward to the next one.

Definitely something to consider but I'm going to delete the arm rest in the front row which will free up quite a bit of space and give a spot for MLP first. I really want my family of four to be able to watch a movie on the front row.

Great video as usual. My theater has a lot in common with his...same set of Polk LSIm speakers and JVC RS2000. Unfortunate I don't see a lot of people with the LSIm range in their home theaters. This one gets my vote!

I did the Vicoustic Treatments in 2 stages with absorption and 3d Diffusion then 2D diffusion later. Biggest difference was probably from the first stage but even noticed big difference with the 2Ds. Hard to say. Thanks for the comments.

Great video, what would you say is most cost effective sound panel material is inner and outer, my wife sits in next room so trying to minimise the sound leaks through the door etc. happy wife happy life :)

I wonder if using ownes corning is a good idea in areas like this where theres lots of moving air (next to the subs). Maybe denim ultratouch or cellulose would be safer to avoid fiberglass in the air that you might breath in.

The room I'm working with is a similar size with a similar vaulted ceiling etc although I prefer big screens (beyond the recommended ratios) so I'm planning on dropping the screen down lower than this so I can squeeze in a wide scope & I'll rig up motorised masking to the sides to mask down to 16:9.

8 10" SEs in a 6th order tuned to 26hz on 4kwatt. Held 158db at 36hz. I miss it but don't miss the destruction that came with it lol

Overall absorption percentage was about 14.8% and diffusion was closer to 16.7%. That is a percentage of the overall surface area of the walls and ceiling.

You will be surprised how much better your dialogue and overall sound gets once you add treatment. Don’t forget to rerun calibration afterwards.

Waaay too much acoustic treatment. I can tell this room will sound “dead”. The issue is really too many speakers for too small a room. No amount of room treatment will fix that. Resist the urge to do 10+ speakers. It’s not needed, and your movies will sound Worse, not better!

The room is anything but dead. I am using 14.8% absorption and 15.7% diffusion. I know it looks like more but the room is anything but dead sounding. It is very live! Would love for you to stop by and hear it with your own ears if you are ever in North Florida.
