Dear Hunter For some time now, i have commented on almost every video (along with PM's your Instagram and dammit, i almost sent you an email...!) you have put out, since we got the news of the delayed production of the HB Agufish SIG guitar. Now that we have a specific date of the (MUCH awaited!) release, i would like to say, from the bottom of my heart: Fuck Y.... i mean Sorry, for the amount of comments and PM's that i have sent about the guitar, the last couple of months. The excitement i feel, when i see the pictures of the upcoming guitar, makes me so happy, that my dog films me and puts it on DogTube and gets millions of views. Iiiiiiiiiim kinda a celebrity.... Voof Voof and all that... Anyways, sorry for my continous rude and obnoxious comments and PM's about the release of the guitar, these couple of months. Im stopping from now on. If i like the 1'st one (which i am 100% buying!), i think i will buy a 2nd one. And thank you for reading this random, attempted comic comment. I know your own Doggo isnt that happy at the moment, but i hope she gets better soon. A lot of love from Denmark! Cant wait for my..... *Inhales Intensely*.... I am an epi fanboy, I have two of them. Always been a fan of the "clipped ear" headstock. The new headstock seems cool, but I would like it better if it were 10% reduced in size. It looks too large for the body. You can see it how the tuning machines are further away from the split diamond inlay, than on the other headstock. Just my observations, great video as always. Cheers!

I have owned many Gibson Les Pauls throughout the years. Some pretty expensive ones and a few here and there I got lucky on. I am down to my last one and only one. It's not because of them ever being a problem, they were all great. Playing since I was 15 I'm 51 now so things change for sure. I never cared for an Epiphone to tell you the truth. I just couldn't get past the big oversized ugly headstock to me, so why even try one right? So it never caught my attention. At the end of last year, It caught my attention. The Inspired By Gibson line caught my eye with the new style headstock. Since the end of 2020, I went on an Epiphone craze and tried them all out. It started with a Sheraton II, I know big headstock lol but it was cool with all the mother of pearl inlays very nicely done. The guitar I picked up used, played it, it sounded so good and easy to play like a Gibson ES 335. After that, I was all in on Epiphone. I decided next to get an Epi Les Paul Modern figured, Epi Les Paul SG 61' Epi less Paul 59' Epi ES 335 Figured and last coming tomorrow, an Epi Les Paul black beauty custom oh yeah! I couldn't have done all of that with Gibson. So, I can tell you, Epihpnes makes some great guitars. Thanks for the video.

@@williamsporing1500 I played my first Epiphone Les Paul Custom in 1989. I was at this huge guitar shop in San Diego (not GC) and I was there to buy a Charvel Predator and there was a revolving rack of Les Pauls. There was a card that said $399 above them. I decided to check them out. I had never heard of an Epiphone Les Paul. I'd only seen their acoustic and semi hollow guitars up until then. The first one I picked was a black LP Custom. Everything on the rack was a custom. Either black or white. I plugged into this Marshall Micro Stack that sounded freakin amazing and right away fell in love. This guitar had my name on it. At the time I was a touring guitarist in a metal band that was half hair metal and half Slayer. Yeah. It was interesting, but people loved us. Anyway, the black and red crackle finish Charvel Predator matched well with my BC Rich Warlock, Bitch, Mockingbird and my 3 USA gunslingers. I was trying to find a suitable road worthy axe to get my gunslingers or at least 2 of them off the road. I bought the Charvel cash. The store had a credit line and my young, long haired ass qualified so I bought the Epi LP Custom as well. Dude! I couldn't stop playing that damn thing! I later found an Epi flying V with a Floyd Rose tremelo bridge and after some pickup swapping I had two Epis and a Charvel that I gigged with until Nirvana killed the scene. I had the Epi LP and bought a few MIM Strats and started down the Grunge road until I was forced to cut my hair and get a job. Later on kids and marriage happened and I sold most of my guitars for bills, Christmas, cars, etc. I my 89 LP Custom. Now I have an 09 Epi LP Standard and a 2020 Epi Explorer and love them. I can't wait for the Kirk Hammett Epis coming soon. Hope ya dig my story.

Bought this guitar yesterday, arrived today. Been playing it for a few hours, verdict. Looks stunning, tone and volume pots work brilliant, must be lucky as perfect out of the box. Only thing I can fault it for is the pickups, they sound horrific and will defo be getting replaced. Was playing it threw a katana mk2 100w on the same settings I use for my Vintage V100 les Paul with the wilkinson pups and the wilkinson pups are a lot better sounding. True what they say about the probuckers=mudbuckers. You would think with it being a custom and costing the same as a Epi tribute plus they could at least put the gibson 57's on it like they do on the Tribute plus.

Still not a headstock design I really dig but it's definitely an improvement over the previous design. Definitely looks better. I could not STAND the previous design and it's one of the primary reasons why I've never had any interest in picking up a cheaper epi custom, even though the LPC is my favorite guitar design without equal. I think ESP/LTD does a much better job doing a 3x3 gibson inspired headstock than epiphone had been doing. Still prefer it over this design. Several years back I bought an Edwards LPC in their version of Alpine white. Gold hardware, duncans with gold covers, headstock design is almost a direct copy of Gibson as well, not your typical Eclipse headstock. I don't think you can find them to buy anymore. They were totally separate to their Eclipse models, basically real copies of a Custom. I may be wrong but I think the model number was E-LP-92 or something similar. I absolutely love that guitar, and it's the closest thing I'm going to get to getting a real custom one day. Just way outside my budget unless I find a heavily used one for a steal that's still got some years left in it.

I had two Gibson LPs since the 70’s…gold top and a custom. Then, in ‘94, my kids bought be an Epi LP (korean) for Father’s Day to have something ‘not valuable’ laying around to beat on. I set it up, changed all the stuff to switchcraft, put Duncan PAFs and a set of NOS ‘58 caps in it. I ended up selling the gibsons because the Epi is my go to, it’s been in studios and stages all over the country and a couple countries. I guard that thing with my life. Picked up a 2016 custom pro in koa a few months ago. It’s a pretty good guitar, but I haven’t had the time work on it yet. I had similar Harley Benton, SC 550, not the same quality but for 130$ it's good, looks really great. Everything can be fixable(for me fret leveling, action, nut change etc. Is free) and upgradable.

I got the epi silverburst and dude I am not joking I literally play it more than a real Gibson Les Paul, it sounds better IMHO they nailed it!!! Now if I can score an Epiphone sponsorship that'll be cool 😎 💯 thanks for your video !!

I have an epiphone Riviera made in Korea. It’s awesome. The elitist series are awesome too.

If it plays well and sounds good I couldn’t less where it’s made. I have a Gibson standard and it’s great but the epi sounds as good. As for ebony it’s fine but rosewood is fine. The only thing I’m a little unsure of is the gold hardware. I wonder what the pots are and if it’s a switch craft switch. Noisy switches are a drag but can be changed. Don’t judge just by looks- please more about what’s underneath the hood.

They are improved, just need to upgrade to decent pickups, Bare Knuckles, Lollar, Lambertones, etc. Then you'd have a decent Axe...

I own a Gibson SG from 1983 (plays and sounds mean), John Petrucci KOA (phenomenal instrument in every way), some BC Rich Warlocks, Schecters, and others (10 guitars in all). My absolute favorite guitar? My 2014 Epiphone Silverburst Les Paul Custom. Guitar build quality is phenomenal and plays great. The Probuckers sounded "meh" at best but not horrible. Gutted the Epiphone and replaced all the electronics with EMG Kerry King set and it is just evil. By far my favorite guitar. Epiphone makes some really nice products. Played an SG Prophecy with Fishman PUs in it a few weeks back. I was very impressed.

Your comments on the neck made me think of an Epiphone G-400 that I bought back in 2011. The neck on that thing was a really weird chunky flat D shape. I have really big hands, and that was a FAT neck. That thing had such bad neck dive. No matter how much I tried, I couldn't get into it. I was sad to have to sell it, but happy to have it off my hands.

Great video and wonderful info on the new Epiphone line. Even though I am a total Gibson guy you video made me a little interested in looking into maybe getting one if it catches me eye. But...during the demo at about 11:30 of the video it looked like you had a capo on the strings past the nut. I cant recall if I have ever seen that before. Just wondering what the reason for that if for? Regardless great video of the guitar.

Thanks! Im just waiting on my order of the alpine white to get here! I grabbed some sd alnico-ii slash zebras to swap out. Hopefully that will sort out the muddy pups, even though they are better than the old epi pups. Are you sure they dont have orange drop caps? Worth putting real ones in? Thanks man.. you SHRED!

My family hated the alpine white and i adored it since teenhood. They always want me to do black guitars. Im doing this instead. Now that i have good cash flow, im buying one. It makes me happy every time i look at one. Ive never had my own white guitar and Epiphone makes some lovely guitars. My #1 favorite brand for the $$$ excited!!!

Hey Hunter thanks for the content man. It's great. I have a question maybe you can clarify for me. I have an epiphone zakk wylde custom as shown in this video. I was under the assumption the fingerboard was ebony. If not so what. Any spec I have seen said ebony. I think. Reverb and guitar center stating on there website. But I figured you would know more than myself. Let me know please. Thanks for everything bro.. keep the great content coming 👌

In the back of your music room, I see you have an Explorer. Is it the newer Gibson model? I just bought one and love it. I am considering buying the Epi Custom so I wonder how they compare? Do you think they are different (sounding) enough to warrant it?

Great Video!:) I'm planning to buy a guitar but i'm hesitating between this model Vs epiphone les paul modern x) is there any difference in the playability... or something that makes the one better than the other? they look similar and i'm having trouble deciding which one should I get (btw I play Neo Soul/Jazz/R&B)
