Thanks for the review! Just one thing about air cooled bikes. I'm 62. ALL bikes were air cooled when I started riding...well into the 80's. I put 10's of thousands of miles on them. Heat is not a deal unless you are in a real hot climate. I had bikes from a Z50 to KZ1000's and never had heat issues in the Summer in Washington state. Yes, it does get warm sitting on pavement in the city, but water-cooled bikes do as well. I'm sure it is a non-issue for this little bike. Just sayin'

These and many other small displacement air cooled dual sport bikes are ridden in Southeast Asia where it is HOT year round.

Nice vid! Did you have issues with bottoming out the suspension? Also if you don't me ind, how much do you weigh? I'm 215 at 5'10 and I'm a little worried about bottoming out the suspension.

@123smartcontent No, BUT... I'm not hitting motocross tracks or straight dropoffs. I mostly adv with it, and have years of MX experience that taught me to seek the smooth jumping lines. The small logs are soaked just fine by leaning back and lifting the front wheel. If I were to start going hardcore with it, I wouldn't get a dual sport. Even so, upgraded suspension is always a good option on many bikes if you have the money. I would happily upgrade the suspension on both my Versys and this if I could afford it. For reference, I am 235 lbs.

Great video, if you don’t mind me asking What size are you i am also short at 5’3” and currently looking into getting a 230S Are you comfortable with the size?
@wheeltrouble
Жыл бұрын
Yes. I am "just" comfortable with it. The seat is narrow enough that a small scoot to the side at lights is all I need. At 5'3", you may consider lowering links, but my kid rides it and he is 5 ft on the nose. The install on the lowering links wouldn't be too hard.

I am 5 foot three and I do great with it. However, I have long legs for a short guy 30 inch inseam but I do really good with no problems at all. Maybe this will help you good luck.

@@wheeltrouble Do you know your kid's inseam? I'm 5'2" but have a short inseam at 26" to my ankle (29" to the ground). Do you think I'd be okay?

@baileyjb88 yeah. I think Eco's about 26-28 inseam right now. Cycle-ergo will help you out a little with what you can expect.

I was looking into getting the regular 230. Think it will be good for me at 6’5 230lbs?

We weigh about the same. The bike will pull you just fine. The regular will definitely be a better fit for you as well. If you're looking for a fun trail bike, it would do just fine.

If you get the regular sized KLX230, you should be fine. The S model was shortened for smaller riders. At 6'3", I would avoid the S variant.
